I had a 96' Grand Cherokee Laredo and that thing was amazing.. Damn mountain goat and had over 200k that was very reliable.. Course 13.9 mpg in the city was terrible but it had a 24 gallon tank and would get 320 plus miles on the hwy..

How do you come up with that assessment? What do newer Jeeps have that is so bad that this one doesn’t have ? Because this grand Cherokee (while reliable and good looking) has a (AS SAID BY RALPH GILLES and other Chrysler heads) very cheap interior and was designed during Chryslers worse time. The cars built when FIAT took over are the well rounded ones. The ones before fiat have the reliability but the rest of the cars are literally made from bankruptcy money (none)😂. The grand Cherokee after this one (2011) when fiat gave Chrysler money to actually develop something , is when grand Cherokee got GOOD!

worked for chrysler when these came out. I thought the interiors were cheap. had tons of issues with the Displacement on demand system. Lots of customers had us shut it off. The NAG 5 speed was a mercedes trans, good unit. 30,000 mile tune up with copper plugs on the hemis was stupid.

@@gabrielgochenour8225Not at all. I had a 2002 Grand Cherokee that had three transmissions. I bought a 2006 Grand Cherokee and still have it. The Jeeps built when Mercedes owned Chrysler were done right.

Me too. The WK and WK2 are my personal favorite of the Grand Cherokee. I'd love to find a Limited with the 5.7L HEMI, in blue, black, or red.

Idk where they got the idea that the fit and finish of the WK was better than the WJ. Yes, it does look a little more contemporary and less... stuffy? Than the interior of the WJ, but its not better put together at all. All of those surfaces are hard plastics of the lowest grade

How so? This generation was much better in every single respect. It was safer, larger inside, had more power and torque from bigger engines, and retained Jeep's awesome 4WD prowess.

@@Deanyfromtheburgh sort of depending on how it’s used. if it’s meant to be an off roader, the older gen is better because it has a solid front axle. Double wishbones are nice but aren’t very good for off-roading since they aren’t as strong (that hemi is awesome though)
