I noticed that there are rubber "vibration dampers" on the injector lines. Were they installed out of factory or did you install them yourself? Do they give any noticeable noise/vibration cancelling?

sorry - I don't know if they were already installed out of the factory, or if they were installed during a service but they were definitively not installed by myself!

@@hid3nax Thank you, found it as well. I will be doing an engine flush using either TEC2000 or one of the Liqui Moly products, would like to install those dampers afterwards.

Do you think it is normal for VAG 1.6 TDI engine like this to emit smoke/vapor from the oil dipstick hole and the oil filler hole when the engine is warm? Or is it necessarily indicating too much wear on the engine? Thanks a lot.

buy an obd, as long as there are no codes just drive it and dont worry about it. I used to worry like you, but with these modern engines you just cant tell at this point, they're producing symptoms that were red flags on older engines, now theyre "normal". So just drive it, change your oil every 10-15k km's and make sure theres water, there's not much more you can do in these.

It is protecting something from high temperature. That container is DPF.

The thing that looks like duct tape is actually duct tape, used to keep cables together on a part of their length (then they spread apart, that's why normal coating can't be used), it's textile based and is supposed to endure well a wide range of climatic conditions. The weirdly shaped container is the 3 bolts is the DPF (diesel particle filter) the shape is messy because it's the outer shell covering thermic insulation: the DPF can get really hot (>600°C) during regeneration cycles.

I changed the injectors i have the same engine it giving me fault code low pressure fuel rail and iam ,ot able to start it if somebody know a solution for me please reply i tryed like everything tommorow iam going to spray startpilot into it to check if i can get it run hopefully it will

I have the same problem with my Skoda Octavia and Skoda Corporation advised me to change the fuel injector and egr vintel please what result of changing the fuel injector for your car

Get it remapped it's that stupid emissions software its killing the car. Its leaving the EGR on and they stick some stupid air restrictions pipe in the air intake. Trust me my car has just been done it's so good now.

Salut pour ceux qui ont ce probleme de ralentit instable ou de claquement injecteur sans que ce soit les injecteur en cause . Jai la solution car jai eu le meme probleme jai demonter tout le moteur jusqua trouver le probleme. Un simple tuyau metalic sur le papillion face avant du moteur quo part du papillon jusqu'au moteur 20cm il faut le demonter torx 30. Ensuite il doit etre bouché . Aussi dans l'emplacement papillon derriere le tuyau une fois demonter il y a un petit pot en aluminium retirer le et le nettoyer calamine etc... Ce tuyau permet a la vanne egr de respire et de faire le bon melange air carburant donc verifier aussi la vanne egr situer a larriere

CAY series are expensive to run. Breaking heads short living injectors with price over 3000Eur each, i'll never buy this engine again. 1,9l series where the best.

I had to change all my injectors in my CAYC. I paid 1200€ for 4 new Siemens VDO injectors and installed them myself.

From 112 000km - 156 000km 4 Injectors, Egr, Clutch, Fuel pressure sensor on rail, alternator…. What a piece of sh*t this engine is, worst decision of my life to buy it. 😢

@@vagautomotiv not payd that much for injectors, next fee will be changing broken head, so i changed that car for the same brand, same type, little bit older but with Mighty 1,9TDI PD

Hdi have much better engine sound
