Hey man I seen you put the trail master in a gen 7 Redcat, do you happen to know if the crawlmaster expert 540 13T would also mount and would that be a good choice for crawling or do you have a better recommendation in that price range that’ll mount on a gen 7? Thanks in advance!

Ive had my trx4 Bronco going on 4 months now and the titan is still running strong. I cant stay out of water and i run it hard on 3s everytime. I do run clean water threw it after and oil the rear bushing but i can see some rust inside. Its going strong and when i does go i have the trailmaster waiting to go in. Good video and i like the little extra torque this motor provides! I have the 540 version in my custom trail truck redcat everest 10 and its far better then the rc4wd 35T motor i killed. Plus John seems like a good dude so always like supporting guys like him over the big companies! It will be getting a brushless system eventually and it will be an esc that can run brushed to like the mamba. I love the feel of the brushed motors but i haven't had a crawler specific brushless system me so maybe I like that more. Which do you prefer in your trx4 and other crawlers for that matter?

Contacted Holmes Hobbies directly. They turn the same speed because of the KV rating and number of turns. They do produce a bit more torque than the Traxxas model because of the number of slots and better quality internals, but they produce the same rpm as one another. I'm gonna try one for the reasons mentioned above. Hope this helps.

Chris Ennis the Radon motor is weak. The longer armature of the 550 works best and the portal gears help the motor out. The older Trailmaster Sport 550 21t has more low end torque according to Holmes but the Crawlmaster 5slot is smoother. Can’t go wrong with either of them
