Dear doctor I am a doctor with nerve injury from Europe. I am looking for someone who has expertise in EMNG who can do my EMNG. Is there someone you would reccomend is an expert or if you could do it. The reason is that I have EMG that does not show severe nerve damage (more of mid level with reduced interference pattern but not severely), motor conduction studies are normal, but fibrillation potentials and PSW are still present even though it has been a year and a half from lumbar disc herniation surgery. If you can point me to someone I would be very grateful

Hi, if I can make the following suggestion; the neurophysiology isn't going to be as important as the surgical opinion. Denervation can last for years, even after successful surgery. The most important thing to determine is what's happening at spinal level, which is usually a question resolved by imaging. I would suggest that in the firstly instance to discuss it with the surgeon who operated, or if you have lost confidence in them, then go for an independent opinion from someone else. I know that's not the answer you were quite seeking but it's the best way forward. Bw Simon

@@DrSimonFreilich Thank you for your oppinion. Control MR shows residual protrusion with present contact of nerve root, but does not show significant compression. So there is contact, but Lasegue sign is negative, Slump test is negative, no pain, just muscle weakness that has plateued. Did you have cases in your practice, where contact with nerve, but not severe compression was the cause of conduction block and muscle weakness?
