Moto Services M6 - new charging hub from Electric Highway & Gridserve

I had a trip up to the new charging hub that opened at the Moto Services on the M6 recently. The first collaboration between Gridserve and the Electric Highway, has 12 chargers with 12 CCS and 6 Chademo connectors capable of 350kW and 100kW respectively (at time of filming, it was assumed the chademo was 70kW).
Here is a quick overview of what you can expect on-site.
Thanks to Gary from the EV Musings Podcast for suggesting the trip and holding the camera!

I've used this several times (Moto Rugby). It is a superb setup, bettering the Tesla pumps nearby! One worry - Chademo only on the right hand 6 pumps. CCS on all of them. I hope Chademo stays around for a while longer (as a Leaf owner!). I've seen 74kW on Chademo off these bad boys!

I've seen other new Gridserve installations, Chademo has always been present, but in the sane number as CCS. New cars are still being made with Chademo, so expect it to be around a while longer. 👍🏻 Thanks for the comments!

Where is Electric Highway planning to put in its next chargers and in what timescale please?

Best place for this info would be their website.

I believe Gridserve is currently in the process of replacing all the old Ecotricity units and they are currently building a new charging station in Norwich similar to the one in Braintree. I am not entirely sure why they chose Norwich which is a bit out of the way and not really on the way to anywhere. Surely it would make more sense on major motorways like the M4, M1, M6, etc. or maybe they are taking more of a Rugby based approach with motorway services. Hopefully between Ionity and Gridserve the UK will get a great motorway charging infrastructure and replace more of these 50kW units with more super-rapid chargers.

Norwich is a bit sparse on rapid chargers so adding an electric forecourt there makes sense.

Still got my leaf but stuck between relatively reliable chademo or ccs worries. Sticking with leaf for now but when I do change it will be to tesla. Network isn't much better for me than when I bought my leaf 3 yrs ago.

I've only had issues with old Ecotricity chargers and CCS. Chademo was always good.

Didn't spot any AC chargers, unfortunately.

GridServe did say they would be putting them in shortly, so fingers crossed.

Yet again, a new setup that doesn’t follow the BSI 1899:2022 standard, with poor access for the disabled, no canopy cover and poor lighting for single female travellers. Come in guts, please meet the British standards
