Mostyn Conger
Спорт
Our first trip to Mostyn on the Welsh Dee looking for conger eel. After a slow start the session resulted in a good fish towards the end. Unfortunately I couldn;t capture the fight and landing of the big eel on camera as it had switched off and I had my hands full trying to keep the fish away from snags. An enjoyable session in some lovely mid-September sun.

Nice one. Looked at that mark before but never figured out how to get onto it with the works near by.

They are there to be caught and some good fish too. Most are caught accidently on previously hooked whiting.

Thanks for the comment Chris. Perch or around ferry terminals on the Wirral would be the best bet on the Mersey.
What’s that left handed lever drag multiplier you were using?

It's an Avet MXL 5.8 MC

@@PerchRockFishing looked a good cranking reel. I just cannot get on with left handed multipliers yet every other fixed spool and fly reel I own are left handed. Go figure?

I use to use left hand multipliers but gone on to right handed now. They do that Avet reel in a right handed model. My fixed spools and baitcasters are all still left handed.
anywhere decent for these around the mersey?

There are good eels in the Mersey but will need a specialist approach to target them.
What reel you using there mate
