Sir, I absolutely respect your hobby and I rarely ever do what I do next but yeah….sir, there is NO justification for these prices. I know you tried in the video and I did watch it and saw the amount of work etc but no, this cannot be justified in a world where, even in the uk, you have kids going hungry.

James May was originally scheduled to film this visit, but after refusing to leave for 3 days, Amalgam had to have him forcibly removed, and now is subject to a restraining order. Turns out it takes that long to tidy and organise a 1/8 scale full tools cabinet.

As a scale modeller, who mostly focuses on aircraft, I loved this video. The cars look fantastic but I can't be the only one that noticed the decals on that SR-71 weren't on properly. You can see the film quite clearly. For the SR-71 where the finish is a matte black it's a common problem which is why a lot of modellers cut masks and spray the markings on instead.

I had the privilege to get up close and personal with both the SR71 and the U2/TR1, as well as seeing them take off and land. The SR71 gets so hot that the titanium expands a great deal, they are fueled just before start up and during the taxi, takeoff and all the way up to supersonic speeds, fuel leaks from gaps that allow expansion. Usually after takeoff the aircraft refuels. The U2 takes off and immediately climbs to cruising altitude, the climb is very close to vertical. Pilots of both aircraft wear high altitude flying suites which are close to space suits, they had one complaint. They have to pass a very thorough physical exam before each flight and wear the suite, flying at 60,000ft but when crossing the Atlantic there was another aircraft at 60,000ft the occupants were not in special suits, didn't get examined and the passengers were sipping champagne and eating fine food. They loved and hated the Concorde for that.

On a side note while stationed @Kadena ABF I was a Phantom Phixer but, on the SAC side of base there were a few black birds, except at Kadena they were called "Habu" which is a snake local to Okinawa. Only thing that compete with this is seeing these scale remote control with real working scaled down v10, v12, v8 , custom made manual gear boxes for them just to name a few. The guy has his own you tube channel making all this stuff and it's addictive ! I would love to have that gt40 and that sr71 blackbird. Reminds me of the testor kit I put together back in the 80s I and had hanging from my calling along with a f14 tomcat and p38 lightning. For further content you should look at real working micro scale models and their gorgeous, and powerful (each scale down engine has its own sound and exhaust) .
