Not sure about that. I have 3 cats and when I go away for a few days, the minute I take out my suitcase, they become stressed and while I am away, my son tells me they are not the same as usual, meowing and looking for me. Cats are not as demonstrative as dogs, but the cuddles and kisses are there. Love comes in many ways !!!!

Dogs are so full of love . It doesn't matter if you are gone 5 min or 5 months they are always so happy to see you and want to show you their love. I swear our dogs knew when it was about time for my husband to come home from work and could hear his truck coming down the street. Sadly, we lost our last dog a couple days before Thanksgiving 2022. Just shy of his 17th birthday and to the end he just wanted to be where ever we were,

I remember coming home on leave from West Germany after 2 years my dog went nuts after he knew it was me. He didn't leave my side for three days. There is no greater love than seeing your dog being happy to see you after two years. Dogs Rule

We have a 5 year old GDS...110 lbs. and when he sees a family member who is away for more than a few days he is so happy he pees all over the floor!!! PURE LOVE!!!

He's getting better now, but when we first got our 12 year old rescue he'd act like I was gone all day when I returned from taking out the trash. Hubby says he sits near the door whenever I'm not in the house. It's very sweet. I'm glad I'm now retired, so I can dedicate my time to them both. 😹😻

What a video joy...I am aged 83, widowed now for nearly 5 years with my beloved golden retriever aged 13 now almost totally deaf but what a joy she brings me. We go for a pre breakfast walk each morning and chat to various neighbours setting off for work and then another walk each afternoon to the dog run where my Holly can meet all her friends off the lead and I can chat to all the other dog owners. It's so beautiful to watch these reunions. They melt my heart.

My last friend died almost 4 years ago. I’m not allowed a companion where I live alone. As I watch this show, I just discovered myself rubbing, and gently scratching the soft arm of my chair! I watched a very active reunion and my arms were rubbing and patting to go to town. How I miss having a companion. I’m disabled and a proud Elder @ 70, how I would love to have a cuddly friend….. I would wake happily every day!

I had to part with my best friend as i moved to an elderly community not allowed to keep pets which i find very frustrating but it could not be helped i miss her so much i cry every time I watched the reunion of dogs and the people who are their favourite friends i need a good cry now and then!!!

I thought I was abit weird in saying one of my dogs was a soul mate, but he truly was. Had him for 14 and a half years. He's been gone for over 5 years and I still pine for him. I feel for you. You have as much empathy as I can give in a message. 🙂🙂🙂

I am right there with you. My husband refuses to have any more furry friends cuz I can't take care of them due to my disabilities and my family doesn't want to. I miss my babies so much.

I love how my dog greets me when I get home even if it's a quick run to the store. It's as if I was gone for a long time.🐕🐶🥰❤

Dogs are the best beings on our planet 💝🐾💝🐾💝🐾💝🐾💝 When we'd traveled my daughter took our giant baby girl crazy Daisy. The reunion must be always outside cause it needed 20 - 30 minutes before she was ready saying hello 💕. Sadly she passed away in August 2019 cause of cancer 💔💔💔💔💔. The days are never the same and we still miss her like hell... She was a special unique diamond with the sweetest gentle soul... 😭💔😭💔😭💔😭💔😭💔😭💔😭

Los perros, cuanto los amo, son tan hermosos y dan amor incondicional, saben amar mas que muchos humanos. Tengo dos y cada que regresamos a casa están felices no importa si salimos solamente por unas horas.

They never ask why. They only need to be w/you, never asking for more than the unconditional love they give to you. Always go with them on the difficult journeys. Just be with them whenever possible.

My dogs give the same crazy exuberant greeting whether an hour or a week.

I'm surprized that none of those dogs sprained their tail wagging it with so much happiness, and none of them peed a little from the excitement. I also love to hear them "uwu" their love, and at times it even sounds like they are crying with joy to be reunited with their loved ones. Thanks for the fond memories of my canines' unconditional love (3 German Shepperd's that overlapped in a 25 years period). I do miss them dearly.

my mates dog called Milo, sometimes he has wee a little bit cos hes been that happy to see me, like i love him the world, i cant describe the love i have for him, i tell him that everytime as well, i will always remember this, so i was giving him a bit of chicken from my hand and he was just licking it, he didnt take it from me and i wondered why, and my mate told me it was cos he doesnt want to bite my finger by accident, well i nearly cried lol, like dogs give us so much love and joy and everything and all they want in return is a loving home and the fact some people abuse dogs totally baffles me, like how could you abuse an animal that will be so happy to see you when you have left the house for 5 mins haha

Our dog was reunited a real estate person brought her home; after mean neighbor drop her where she need help . Thank god for this lady each time I watch it.

Dogs have good memories. I remember staying, for two weeks, with a family who had a dog. He was gorgeous. However, I had to go home eventually and did not see him again for two years. I was walking down the avenue towards his house, where he was playing out the front with the little boy of the house. He suddenly looked up and seemed to recognise me from a very long way off, and charged up the avenue to me. He was jumping around and was just the same daft, playful dog he was a couple of years before. I could hardly believe his memory was that good.

I remember my parents taking me to some relatives house when I was very young and they had a dog. I played with the dog the entire time I was there and when we went back to visit them again 6-12 months later the dog remembered me.

Yes animals are true friends for life and they don’t pretend but loves you as you’re!!!

I'm sat here watching this crying my eyes out, as I had my best friend my beloved cat dye in my arms yesterday, I know she wasn't a dog but she used to be the exact same if I'd been out ,she'd jump in my arms ,curling around my neck until she settled ,pets are so loyal they really are .Rest in peace my sweet girl.

Those of us that have cats in the house understand. My daughter's cat hides most of the day until it's time for my daughter to come home. When she comes out and sits on the stairwell I know my daughter will be pulling into the driveway at any minute. My sincere condolences for the lost of a family member.

I am so sorry for your loss,i have a doggie and 3 cats,and lost last oktober my girly st bernard, her name was Lola just 5 years ,she died in our arms,we are hartbroken,still are today,so we know what you are going too now,we have lost in the past some kitty,s too, we 🤫 still mis them every day,other people say ,you get use too it...but they don,t say when, ...your kitty knew that you were with her tiĺl she felt asleep,she,he loved you for that..Ruud from the netherlands, much strengt for you, you cat is always naar you when you think of her,him im sure. My parents' dog, Riley, did this every time I visited. I thought he was going to have an accident! Alas, the old fella died today, almost 16 years old. I'll miss him, but I'll always have the memory of these greetings.

Dogs are one of the big animal family that are always loyal to their owners and caretakers. A dog would never be disloyal or betray a person who has been taking care of it. Actually it finds comfort and it's only loyal to the owner😊♥️.Their love is genuine and their feeling is real😊, they are always patient and waiting to see their owners 🥺.

That is so true TAS. Nothing like coming home after a terrible day and have them jumping on you, licking your face, just being playful. All the frustrations of the day just go away at that point. I miss my 2 best friends terribly. This is so heartwarming..

Thank you fo sharing, dogs always make me smile!!! Whenever I left the house my BabyGirl wouldn't do anything but watch the front door until I got home. As soon as I walked in she would start barkyodeling at me until I picked her up and my Bernie Bear, like the dog at 9:07 would jump right up into my arms. I miss them so much but I'm grateful for the 18 years of joy they each brought me.

Oh i feel your pain Paula, i've been there myself twice. You lose a part of yourself with the loss of a beloved pet. Some people just don't understand.

my sister in law’s dog knows my working schedule and is always excited to see me. i try to be as playful as i can with the time im given. My home. if i could relive the time. I would have spent more time to my fidulize. he died in 2018… he is what a dog should mean to a person. May god rest his soul.

Your dog is a social animal. It wants nothing more than to belong to a "pack" and you are a member of that pack. To have that "pack" dynamic disrupted is stressful to that dog and it is not at all surprising that they react the way they do when a missing member re-appears.
