    @@ralfie8801 then maybe Beth should've kept her legs closed or maybe she should've gone to Lee or her Dad. Oh but no she went to Jamie for a reason and if Jamie didnt care about her he wouldn't even have wasted his time. He could've easily said he doesnt want to get involved with or told on her but he didn't, he took the time to help her. He was young, he was scared he didnt know what to do cause he clearly said if they gone anywhere else people would find out. And even still considering all that it doesn't mean Beth is allowed to act like that with him for all these years. Sure she has a right to be mad at Jamie and it would've been understandable if she acted like this with Jamie for some years after that happened but the fact its still going on 30 years later is ridiculous. Acting like that isnt going to make her have babies. Not saying they're suppose to be best friends after but they could've sat down and talked through this. Beth is just too much of a head case. It was a mistake he made when was young but he wasn't trying to be evil and do it to hurt Beth.

    I never really picked up on how John wants to have nice discussions during dinner and not about work. I don't see how he comes to this with how mean, dirty and cut throat his whole ranch can be. Beth during the first scene was exactly right, they do nothing but work from sunrise to sunset and live and breathe it, thats what John Dutton requires them to do so how can they possibly talk about anything else?

  • @HappyGirl92593

    @HappyGirl92593

    Because she doesn’t work at the ranch, she has her own career. But also, I think he desperately wants a bond with his family but everyone of his grown kids looks tired, beaten up, mad or… always mad lol.. but Beth not only stirs the pot, she’s angry the second she sits down before John can just say a word. She is sarcastic and condescending and vulgar. She just can’t relax herself and just enjoy. And when she gets scolded by “daddy”, to stop being vulgar, she gets mad, at anyone who tells her to knock it off, she leaves the dinner table and puts herself in time out. Rip loves her so much, but puts her in her place, and she listens to him.

  • @Lyrielonwind

    @Lyrielonwind

    She has a point: John doesn't anyone talking about work at the dinner table and he asks how was your day. It's like he's promoting cognitive dissonance. Nothing seems to please him. She's also right when she said they have to pretend they are the family they are not. Beth doesn't like faking. I guess that's why she gets so sarcastic but, what would anyone could talk about in that table without stepping on someone's tail? 😂 I wouldn't be able to eat with such a repressed tension in the room.
