#Yellowstone #ParamountNetwork

Guaranteed if John told rip to drop em and spread em, he would. I wish there would be more elements of this in the show at times, even if concealed, as it could further appeal to a more diverse audience that could save this show. These yahoo, cowboy Republican shows are on their way out. Just too much overt discrimination. This fictionalized way of life is over, and never coming back.

Rip and John have about the same relationship my father and I had.....he always counted on me, no matter what, and I never asked him, "Why" as I always figured he'd tell me if he wanted me to know. He was a hard man who played for keeps. I learned so much from him and I sure as hell miss him every day now that he's gone. He certainly made a better person out of me......He used to say, "When it's too tough for other guys, it's just about right for me". That's the way he lived and I've tried to adopt that attitude. I grew up on a ranch with an emotionally distant father whose only voiced concern is for the cows, his ranch, and his land. My dad loved us, but he didn’t have the slightest idea how to show it. So yeah, this show holds a lot of memories for a 42 year old rancher who is probably only slightly more emotionally mature than Rip and John. My dad is 72, hard time to walk. He was watching us herd cows into pens for sale next week. After we were done, we got a solid round of criticism before he took my son out hunting rabbits. It’s kinda funny how much easier he is on my son than he was on me. Hunting with him? When I hit 8 and wanted to hunt rabbits/grouse/etc, he would just say “you know where the shotgun is, you better come back with something to show for every shell you use”. I like to poke at him about how he’s getting soft in his old age. And yes, we’re branded, but we did it to ourselves, his only part in it was calling us idiots after we were finished. Myself and my best friend did it at 15 while we were bored in a snowstorm, hunting moose in one of our hunting/herding cabins. We got snowed in for three days. 15 year old boys with too much time on their hands become idiots. When he gave me the ranch finally, three years ago, he didn’t even tell me. Just had a lawyer show up with papers. Three years later, we still haven’t spoken about it.

@@jerrypeacock2234 I know, that scene was classic.
Great scenes. I need to watch this show much more. I'm sure that I'll become a big fan.
You can tell these men cared about each other.
I just started watching these clips john seems like a interesting character
The scene where John asks Rip to move into the bunkhouse to let Kayce lead just about killed me! Made me realize just how horrible a man John Dutton is. To take a man's unswerving loyalty and then demote him was almost more than I could take. Good thing he redeemed himself later.

I see it differently. He lets Rip know it's part of a bigger picture. He trusts Rip and tells him straight to his face. Yes, it is a blow to his ego/pride but for the overall health of "their" home.

@@straycat62 100%. John was asking Rip to make the sacrifice. Both John and Rip knew Kayce had to take over at some point as his first choice Lee was gone and Jamie was a failure. While it hurt Rip to do it they both knew it had to be done as Kayce had to learn to lead. Soon after Kayce decided that Rip was the Top Hand again not John. You could see by Rip's reaction that he saw Kayce is a different light now.
"no sir i was talking about the letter" love that bit!
