Most Boring Rolex = The BEST Rolex. The Oyster Perpetual
Тәжірибелік нұсқаулар және стиль
The Most Boring Rolex = The BEST Rolex my Rolex Oyster Perpetual is my favourite watch in my collection. It's one of those watches I know I am going to own and love forever. Even when I am a little old lady, I am going to be wearing this watch. A complaint I always hear about the Rolex OP is that it is TOO BORING, but this video is a defence of the boring watch. The boringness isn't a fault, it's a feature!

Bought this exact watch as my first luxury watch, celebrating my first promotion. As a man with roughly 6.75 inch wrist, I sometimes feel it’s a bit small and boring, but as you said - it’s absolutely timeless. It never feels out of place with any outfit, exactly BECAUSE of it’s size. It’s something gentlemen wore 70 years ago and no one bat an eye. Maybe it is the most “stealth wealth“ luxury watch from the prestigious brands. Not a day has gone by that I didn’t wear it and I still love it, 8 months later. This one will be my heirloom to future kids.

I’m exactly the same, wear it every day and still loving it! Biggest congrats to YOU! 💕💕💕🎉🎉🎉 may there be many more promotions and many more watches to celebrate!

There is no stealth wealth wearing a Rolex, you wear a Rolex to flex pretending to be rich and announce to the world you are a douche. Stealth wealth is wearing a JLC or A lange sohne for the love of the mechanical movement, where 99% of the population have no idea what it is
Fully agree. If I would ever buy a Rolex, it would be an Oyster Perpetual. Classic, timeless and perfect for every situation.
One person's "boring" is another person's "versatile." I look at buying a watch for its versatility and with how many outfits or situations I could wear it. I'm right on board with you, Britt. This watch is a classic, standalone piece. In all honesty, I am 45 and my goal is to score my first Rolex for my 50th birthday to mark the occasion. This is the watch I'm aiming for.
100% Agree. As a man, I would pick the Explorer. Some say it’s the least amount of Rolex you can get. However, at the same time; the OP is the Most Rolex you really ever need. The wind, the way the hands feel when you set the time are identical to that of a Daytona. Great content Brit 🙏🏼⌚️

I must say, I find your content refreshing. I subscribe to many watch channels (many are acquaintances of yours), and yours stands out the most. Keep up the brilliant work.
I bought the OP 36 with the black dial from my AD for my wife last year and she wears it 24/7. It's an incredible watch! Even though I have an Airking and a DJ 41 with jubilee and green dial I'm falling more and more in love with that watch and I'm thinking of getting an OP 36 myself. Awesome watch and definitely one of the best rolexes out there. Greetings from Switzerland and keep up the good work!

Here's my hot-take: almost every Rolex is "the most boring Rolex." But that's also a testament to the Rolex formula being so universally pleasing and yes, iconic. In my opinion, there are a few rolexes that would capture your attention because of their design specifically - for me, the sky dweller or honestly the 1908 are stare-worthy designs - but otherwise, it's the fact that the name on the watch is Rolex that stirs the emotions. And that's ok, too

What a load of bollocks lol. Rolex design is by far the best. Gerald Genta is not even a close third (yes I am aware of the Rolex quartz) to a G-Shock! This is why a Casio/DeepSea colab would put the MoonSwatch debacle firmly in the (dark side of the moon?) shade 😜

@@ALL-il1sw I see his point, but at the end of the day it’s about ownership, not about the collective hive mind of the planet. The only solution to watch boredom is to own a few and rotate them. If you are just looking at them online, they will all get boring eventually, and you will have to just look at increasingly whacky pieces to avert this.
I also love the OP for its simplicity, which doesn't equate to boredom to me. The most important thing is that you have recovered pretty well from the bike accident injury. That the OP survived too is just a nice bonus.
Agree 100 percent I have the 41 OP Silver Dial with 18 ct. Gold sticks and hands and I absolutely love this watch simple yet elegant fits like a glove the sunburst dial glistens in the daylight and glows at night when the blue luminescence sets in. Spot on with this one Gringa.

Love the passion that you have for your OP, Britt. Out of all my watches I wear my 36 Datejust the most. It’s just perfect for everything.
My first Rolex was a Gold Shell OP date that I purchased back in 1984. It was my daily driver for 33 years, before I started to get more serious into my Rolex collection. On another topic it's shocking to hear how serious your accident was. You seem like you are back to 100% now,, which must bee a huge relief. So glad you and your OP survived to continue to bring us great watch content!
Hey Britt. Thanks for another great video. Love from Nova Scotia.
Great show Brit! Keep them coming. You do it well.
Britt: Another great video. I’m on the AD list for a polar Explorer 2, but you’ve made me want to get back on the list for a 36/41 OP on black. I was in Seattle last week for my daughter’s wedding, and while having breakfast at a diner type place, was helping an elderly gentleman figure out the ice/water machine. I looked down, and saw he was wearing a vintage Pepsi GMT (he said it was 30 years old). Didn’t stand out at all. IYKTYK! Keep up the great work!
Britt, I’m with you on this one. I own a DJ41 and an OP39. My boring unsung hero is the OP. I absolutely love wearing it. It’s low key and used as my daily driver. Simple, yet classy. Love yours and the Roman numerals give it an extra touch. Glad you are doing better 😊.
I've just arrived on your site because, first of all, I love watches and I love people who know how to talk about them with a sense of humour, product knowledge and a natural feel. Continue to make beautiful videos like the one you're making now with the naturalness you have I encourage and support your site. Excuse my English, I'm French, I don't master the language of Shakespeare.
Britt, it is so great to awaken here in north central Indiana, U.S.A. on a Sunday morning and discover a new video! Thank goodness for the time difference because your new presentations are there as I enjoy my breakfast. Thank you!
Definitely not boring, but understated. That is the whole pount of the OP for me. It says class not flash. A tool that does exactly what a watch should, extremely well. There is nothing to get bored of when you look at it. Everything in the right proportion exactly where it should be.
I have the 41mm OP black dial and totally agree with everything you said, absolute classic piece.
I have a 34mm Air King in black with oyster bracelet from 1954. Its a family heirloom and will never leave me. Its perfect and needs nothing to stand on its own.

@@BrittPearceWatches Hey Britt, are you certain you kept changing rooms in the hospital? I was in the ICU heavily medicated after a serious accident at 17 and I was CERTAIN I was in a different room every time I woke up but I was just insanely zonked out on the drugs lol. Always wondered if it's a common thing. Also agree on the OP, it's not boring it's classic and been copied to death. My 36mm grape isn't my favorite or most expensive watch but it's my most perfect watch, I wouldn't change a single design element.
Hi Brit! I just picked myself an OP 41mm green dial 2k above retail brand new!! I just have to have it 😂 always look forward to your content!
Couldn't agree more, beautiful watch and good for every situation. Very nice review. Thank you Britt!
Its not a boring watch at all love the different color dials you can get eith this Rolex its a true classic as well and the fact that it has so little damage after the accident speaks to how great the craftsmanship to the watch speaks for it self also have happy Sunday
I fully agree. I love my OP36 in blue. I like the no date and I like that it has slightly more dressy upside than the explorer. I went best of both worlds. I have the 116000 OP in blue dial from 2019 with 369 hour markers right before the new ones came out. If I could only have one simple versatile piece for life it’d be my choice.
Very nice analyses Brittney.
I could not agree more. This video just made me salivate at the idea of a one watch collection even more....I don't know if I will ever pull it off, but an OP would be the first on the list of contenders! Congrats on your recovery and thank you for making fun content. :)
The watch is a lovely watch and I am genuinely pleased your getting back to full health and good job by your hubby on making sure the watch was safe
It’s not boring, it’s simple. And simplicity is beauty.
Nice side-by-side comparo between the OP and Explorer! 😁👍
I'm with you on this. I always seem drawn to the "boring" watches. Love the OP and Explorer - just waiting for the call after which I will put my name down for the boring version of the Sub, haha! Also, again, so glad you have recovered so well after the accident
I love and absolutely adore my OP! My 39 mm Explorer is also so close. I park them for a few weeks & then I always come back to them. I have several models, but both the OP and the Explorer fly below the radar and are by far my favorites. If I had to pick one, it would be either of these. To me, being less showy, is the best way to fly. And I prefer the minimum. Good video Brittany.
Great watch . Love your vanilla taste beautiful young lady . By the way this watch convinced me to start inspecting th GS . The Submariner and Daytona did not help at this aspect . With love and great appreciation Nizar

Wonderful video. This is my next watch. It's the only Rolex I really like.
I love that they're still doing the 34mm classic size Rolex.. I have a couple of bigger watches, but keep going back to my old oysterdates and OPs.. Perfect size for a watch in my opinion.. 🥰
My first Rolex is an OP 41 with a Blue dial- I love it. It’s a classic
I have the 36 black dial and it can easily be the only watch I need in the collection. I am for simplicity / minimalism and I love the OP for it. It works with anything you wear. Jack of all trades
I love my OP's. Very comfortable and great proportions. I have the Turquoise and Coral Red so not really everyday watches or me but super fun. I know you're not into the colorful dials but I'd have every color if I could get them.
Totally agree with your review, the only Rolex watches I want are the OP36 and Explorer36, simple and "go anywhere, do anything" without being flashy while still enjoying the quality that Rolex provides. Also if I have to choose one youtube channel to watch forever, it would be yours!
OP34 ftw. Mine is frosty white dial, traded privately from the 36mm white dial. They’re ridiculously under appreciated, which makes them special. Happy to hear that you are on the mend - scary accident!
I’m so glad you are healing from your harrowing accident. I love your content, love seeing a fellow female watch nerd, and I really enjoy your content. Thank you! Oh, and I would love to get my hands on an OP!
Nice take on the OP Britt, thanks.
That’s exaxtly what I need now and boom you made a video about it! Is the green dial hard to get?
Right on the money, nailed it! Glad you're well and most of all ALIVE. My wife has the petrol/blue and my mom wants the flat pink. The Rolex OP34mm is awesome and under rated. I miss the Watchgringa so much, please give her, her own show back... - like once a month for a start.
My "boreing watch" is the Longines conquest. I absolutely love it. Love your OP. Great piece. Congratulations for the watch and for the video.

I just got my first Rolex three weeks ago, it is the OP 124300 and I absolutely love it especially because it is so understated. The 41mm case is perfect size for me as well.
I'd never noticed those little roman numerals before. What a fun little detail hidden in there!
Excellent video! I feel the same about my JLC Geophysic 1958. It’s a fairly plain (perhaps boring) time-only piece…..but just accompanies me on my daily life journey without ever letting me down. It would be my one-and-only watch if I ever needed to cut my collection down.
Fully agree! On the cayman / boxster too!
...got two 114200 in my collection. I love the propotions in 34mm and the red grape dial one!
Just like I said on Andrew’s video. I LOVE “boring” watches, specially when they have little surprises that doesn’t appreciate at first glance, like details on the dial, bezel or something like that
Own the previous gen 34mm with silver 369 dial. Absolutely love it - the perfect GADA. It wears great on guys with mid to small wrists too. Many guys overlook anything under 36, which is a shame.
I’m about to grab an OP 41 with the bright blue dial as my second watch. I have a GMT II black/Red but don’t wear it nearly enough - working from home, etc. I like the perceived everyday wearability of the OP - and honestly for the price, I think it’s a good value for a classic timeless watch! Your reviews are awesome - this one was great - right down to the vibe and agro justification! Thanks!
I really like the OP because it's understated and not obnoxious. Great video BP. Also the jaw movement is coming along nicely, go you!
I like it❤ Planning to have this piece! 🎉
I have the 41mm with the silver dial. It’s every bit a Rolex and perhaps the most versatile. The screw down crown with 100m WR, brushed centre links and case top make it an ideal daily wearer. The polished bracelet sides, bezel, and curvaceous case flanks, along with the sunray dial with yellow gold markers, hands, and coronet give it enough sparkle, light play, and elegance to wear on formal occasions.

I have just found your channel and you made me add first comment on yt ever 🙈😎 I love the way you talk about watches and about OP in this video. I bought DJ 41 mm 2 months ago and can’t stop wearing the one. I hated the fact that my Seamaster 300 I bought 2 weeks before the DJ did not spend a day on my wrist since DJ arrived. And DJ is so boring comparing to Omega!😅 but after your video I feel absolved 😊 I’ve the same feeling about OP and DJ and simply love them. Thanks for that😊
Love this piece, such a great look, great video, and glad you’re recovered from the bike accident. Kinda funny, I am an Explorer devotee, it’s the watch that got me into watches, but I don’t own one. Have a Daytona, had a Yachtmaster, have had my eye on a vintage AirKing, and my Tudor BlackBay Bucherer Blue Bronze gets the most wrist time. The Oyster Perpetual might have to be the next new watch I target.
I have the same OP with black dial but the 39mm version Rolex released in 2018 I think. It is such a comfortable, easy wear it has rendered the rest of my watches mostly obsolete. I wear it all the time, it is part of me now. I prefer it to the explorer tbh. Great video
Thank you for mentioning the Nomos club neomatik, it’s by far the closest alternative but with its own personality. 200m of water resistance, exhibition caseback, automatic, under 9mm. It’s just a great sports watch with its own flair but hits all of the boxes that the OP so good.
Bought a white dial of this - for my grand daughter - who’s several months old. In the vault. For college graduation.
I got an Air king refr14000 from my grandad. It's similar to the OP as it's the same size so it feels a little small. It's also a bit old and doesn't have that good night lighting. Still I wear it almost everyday. It's a watch that I will always have with me.
Funnily enough the Porsche Boxster analogy is quite correct, but not in the way that person thought... The Boxster is the most Porsche of the current Porsches (small sports car with an heavy focus on handling and driving pleasure), making it THE Porsche to get for the person who wants the benefit without the fame... same thing as the OP. On other note, wish the Tissot Gentleman came in a smaller size with no date.
i absolutley love the OP. my favorite is that silver dial 36 with the YG hands/indices...pure class!
op is the best. sorry for your accident hope the best for you! thank you for this sincere post!
I almost went with the 114200 air king with salmon 369 dial 34" as my first good watch. Love the size, the GADA, the splash of colour. I have reasonable sized wrists, used to wear a seiko tuna, size is all relative to how you feel on the day.
The two-tone Oyster Perpetual is probably the most beautiful Rolex made. The Pepsi GMT Master II is a classic, but the steel and gold OP is very nice on the eye.
The OP is awesome! Super choice Britt!
First, I want to say that I'm glad to see that the recovery is going well for you Britt!! Second, the snobbery is what holds me back from getting a Rolex. To judge someone for their choice of a material item is insane. In addition, mocking someone's financial status for what they bought is just plain pretentious. Third, the Rolex OP is like a well tailored navy suit. It's boring on the surface but it will stand the test of time. Finally, my boring and unsung hero in my watch collection would be the Vaer D4 Solar Diver. A black, no date dive watch is a textbook example of a boring watch. However, that design has stood the test of time. It is versatile and will never look out of place.
That's a beautiful watch. My one and only Rolex is a 36mm OP blue sunburst dial. I love it so much.
Recently I bought oyster Perpetual 41 black and I love it
I actually agree with this. I think it's great value, works well in sport, well getting cocktails, and nice on a linen suit. My blue dial is heavy in rotation.
Also, the 34mm is the only on in the line that has the silicone hairspring.
Great video. The Rolex Oyster Perpetual is truly a classic icon. I also like the Explorer, but it's a little too sporty for me. So my favourite version is the OP with the 3-6-9 dial, which looks a bit like the OP and Explorer gave birth to a child.
I went with the OP over a Milgauss and Exp2 because it is the PUREST expression of what makes a Rolex great. The brand is practically built on the self-winding, waterproof masterpiece; all you have to do is look at the dial of any of their more “coveted” models and you’ll see OYSTER PERPETUAL. ❤ There’s almost pretentiousness associated with it - it’s simply a durable and accurate timepiece that can be relied on for a lifetime! 😊 Mine is a 2018 116000 with the eggshell dial.
A wonderful essay!
I love my Seiko SARB 033….7yrs on and it’s still a winner!
Gringa, you are taking your editing to the next level, love the music syncs, scene changes, both the text and video editing. Mad skills! (And the OP is a true Rolex classic, you're lucky you can wear a 34mm) :)

I agree with you, the OP is a gem. And yes, I like it way more than the datejust because it is so much cleaner and simple. I am falling so much in love with the air king bloodhound dial. That would be my favorite boring watch right now.
I'm saving up for one. (The dark blue version). For me it's not boring. The size is perfect for me. (I have a 6,6 inch wrist) and the "boring" look is actually pleasing for the eye. And no overkill of text on the dial.
My versatile, unsung daily watch hero is my white dial IWC mark xviii. I love it quirks and all!
My wife has the silver dial version, she could have bought any other Rolex as we had just sold a house in Spain but to her that was what a Rolex should be, oyster bracelet and no cyclops.
"Boring" = Feature. You are SO RIGHT! I personally think the OP is Simply Fabulous for its clean, direct design. I'm hatching a plan to get 114300 in black, full indices; to me, it's the best GADA out there. Thanks for your video.
Never been much of a Rolex fan but this watch is neat and understated. Love it.
The OP is a great watch. No date setting, solid specifications, and.. Rolex are just the masters of proportions. No one does it better than them. I think the Omega Aqua Terra shades 38 would be the best non-Rolex alternative.
Bro. Daytona as “hero” piece triggered a reaction from me. I disagree. I have my opinion about boring watches but this video helps a lot. Thanks.
I was just thinking this the other day about my GS. It's so very boring but also not boring. It's simple, classy, and goes with anything

Great review 👍🏻 Although my 1978 GMT 1 was my daily wearer since 1981, i have moved to vintage watches. Despite having an 8" wrist, i enjoy wearing 34/35mm watches. I have a 1961 Tudor Rolex Oyster with all numerals & a 1963 Tudor Rolex Oyster with an early 12470 dial. Both are small, low key, understated. Big watches are like flared trousers: too much materiel went into making them, loud, flashy, "look-at-me" & a fashion that will change at some point. Quietly self confident people don't need to send messages out, they just crack on quietly.
Thanks for the video! Why do you choose black? Do you think no date watch is an inconvenience?
Love this watch - especially in the black! SO hard to get right now! My AD just laughs at me.
Hi Britt, I probably would have bought this OP in 39mm if it was available in 2016. But it was released a year later. I picked the 114300 with the rhodium dial and the baby blue pips. And I picked it over an Explorer that was available too. But I don’t like the Mercedes hand and I was able to spare 1,000 Euros. Although the rhodium dial is quite versatile the black OP has the better lume. And it might be boring but kind of classy at the same moment. Best wishes, Claus
I own a Explorer 36 myself and and I wouldn't look at any other watches from the catalogue except for an OP or DJ 36.
Im a guy with a 6.5in wrist and I absolutely LOVE 34mm watches. In fact I usually won’t go over 36mm for a watch unless it’s a dive watch. I hate when company’s try to gender their watches by size. I think people really miss out on some great watches that way. Your OP looks awesome and it really makes me want to get a 34mm blue one that I’v been eyeballing. The only thing I wouldn’t agree with you about is the gentleman, monta, and Nomos as being alternatives because they wear way bigger than a 34 or 36mm OP.
Am on the waiting list still for my OP41 and it’s now been 18 months and no call. So I went grey market paid 1k over list but at least I have my watch and I love it . Find I wear all the time as is so comfortable.
