God blessed the Italians so much they are in everything and walk of life, from design to anything. They came up the CHurch bells and Harmica in movies and songs

I have fallen in love with Ennio Morricone's soundtrack for this movie. The opening movement featuring the harmonica is a reference to the Charles Bronson character in the film. Morricone's creativity is on full display.

They have great painters, sculptors (Michelangelo, Da Vinci etc.), great writers (Dante, Boccaccio, Di Lampedusa, Umberto Eco etc.), composers (Vivaldi, Verdi, Morricone etc.), great film makers (De Sica, Fellini, Pasolini, Leone etc.), great actors (Claudia Cardinale, Sordi, Gastman etc.). Italian art is full of great minds and talent!!

Ennio Morricone is one of the most creative composers ever. He literally invented a new genre of music, and no one since has been able to match its unique emotional resonance. Rock meets opera meets folk meets Wagnerian epic symphony, and all in the service of a relatively low budget western made by an Italian in Spain. Talk about over-delivering!

The scene where we know Charles Bronson is watching Henry and Claudia because we hear Charles' harmonica is a miracle of cinema. It came out the year Neil Armstrong walked on the moon and the year my son was born. I couldn't tell you how many times I have watched it.

I am not sure how he did this. I live in the American west. The music sounds like the land. He captured the big blue sky, the prairie and the haunting beauty of the mountains and rivers. It gets into the blood and it becomes like a love affair with the land. I even hear the sounds of the snake, birds, and deer. Tge woman in the movie is the land...and the men fight over her but she remains.

Very nice interpretation. Unbelievable that not one frame of this film was shot before the music was written so that the film could be choreographed to the music. Movie perfection.

Imagine the pain and and blackness of heart one must possess to feel inclined to listen to such an achingly sublime piece of music and give it a thumbs down. What, dear people, vexes you souls? You truly have my utmost pity.
