“Morale Is Absolutely On The Floor” | More Than One In Five Police Officer Planning To Quit

More than one in five police officers are planning to resign in the next two years, research suggests, with plans to fight for greater industrial rights gathering pace.
The Police Federation of England and Wales said around 22% of respondents to its annual pay and morale survey signalled their intention to quit, up from 18% the previous year.
More than 9,000 left the service in the year to March 2023.
A total of 28,070 responses from 29,085 officers were analysed as part of the survey, out of more than 145,000 from the rank of constable to chief inspector who are members of the federation.
Former Met Police detective Peter Bleksley: "Morale is absolutely on the floor."

The problem is promoting from within. No successful corporation only promotes from within. All successful corporations have a balance of management brought in and management promoted from within. The police don’t do this, it’s why they are ineffective at what they do. If you employ numptees at the start, you’ve only got numptees to promote. It’s been a disaster waiting to happen and now it’s happening.

I've not visited Manchester City Centre for well over a decade, and I was recently watching a popular KZreadr, Charlie Veitch, who's been walking around the place, filming the public, and the change feels quite weird. It's like the general intelligence is in decline. There are many who are clearly mentally ill. It seems to be getting like New York, where there are lunatics out in the open, roaming around, just acting very strange. I can't help but wonder if this is happening all over the country.

What is missing from the police is common sense, when you see these videos of poor handling of situations, a lot of it could be avoided if they used their brain and commons sense. Public sector workers get a pension 6X larger than private sector, their pensions will cost the country £Trillions and will be more than our actual GDP, so they're hardly hard done by.

@@michaelday8592 MP's should pay for their pensions, but there aren't millions of them nor will their pensions outstrip our GDP unlike public sector pensions. What do you think private sector workers do? We too pay into schemes and often more than 14% but get nowhere near the return as they aren't gold plated. We pay for our own pension, public sector pensions and state pension why should we pay for public sector? it's those pensions that will cost more than our actual GDP very soon that is why others are having to retire later and later to pay the £TRILLIONS to the public sector, who lets face are underperforming on an epic scale, and we're paying their pensions so they can retire early whilst others have to continue to work longer and for less. If pensions were measured by performance the public sector would be paying US the tax payer they're that bad, and not us them.

People wanting to join the police force I believe they have the public best interests at heart Yet once they’ve been recruited and had the public trained out of them….. they have to abide by their contract of employment. Police officers are just being told what to do. They’re told what they are doing is protecting the public. But really they’re just doing what there told Goes all the way up through the ranks to the bosses…… they should be held accountable first. Currently it just feels like the police are working for business, MPs, religious and migrant protests. In which usually ends up with the British publics rights being violated by the police…….. ordered for by their bosses and upwards

Get the police off the internet. Hurty words are no where near as traumatic as a burglary or an assault except to people who already have a mental problem, an extremely small proportion of the population. Putting army officers in charge would, undoubtedly, clear out all the snowflakes and leave a force with collective (those things that footballers kick around)

That’s 22% that shouldn’t be in the police in the first place, as not one of them would have passed basic training at the old level from 25 years ago. Some of them would have never got passed the vetting from back then. So it no lose to the public. The police have gone down hill fast over the last 25 years, once the last labour government changed the training and vetting level by making it much lower, bring in fast tracking with a Mickey Mouse degree over experience, pcso’s over beat constables, patrolling in a car one up instead of in two’s. Asking a religion to interview at the recruitment level to see if they like them or not. Then we have commanders wasting money giving each constable a vehicle to drive round in all day. Funny how they closed police stations and combined services to save money, but they asked for more money straight away after doing that. Why does each police force buy its own vehicles and kit? When it would be much cheaper to have a procurement centre to do it, in the same way the armed forces does. Just think of the millions if not billions that could be saved if police vehicles were put out to tender to the vehicle manufacturers to cover the hole uk. But no each police service does it by itself. That is another issue when the police change from a force to a service it all started to go down hill very fast. So now we have commanders that cannot command, no man management skills and no experience of basic policing. An at the low ranking levels we have clowns in police uniforms that are completely anti British, care more about protecting Islam and immigrants. A clear double standards across the uk. The police have only themselves to blame, they are in the most unfit for purpose when it comes to crime. High levels of burglary, stabbing, shoplifting, assaults, mugging, rape, to name a couple of crimes the police are incompetent at solving or dealing with. An over the last 6 months dealing with protesters supporting a banned organisation in Hamas. Remember Remembrance Sunday when the police turned up in riot kit for those paying respects to our war heroes (not once has their been any trouble on this day), and got changed in to normal uniform for the protesters supporting a terrorist organisation in Hamas. But are very good at arresting people carrying a union flag, Christians singing or praying, and their favourite the motorists. An let’s not for get saying things on social media that the woke and immigrants don’t like. Now some of the waste of space want to leave, with a nice pension. Give those that leave nothing as they have not earns it. Some saying they need more money, well they need to earn it first, with a high standard of policing, not the woke crap the British public have to put up with at the moment. An before anyone says but we need more police, no we don’t we have enough, it’s the very poor man management in place by the incompetent commanders that’s the problem.
