"People Are Disillusioned With The Job" | One In Five Police Officers To Resign In Two Years

Policing is facing a “perfect storm”, with fears of a looming staffing crisis as figures reveal more than one in five officers is poised to quit the service.
A major survey of rank and file officers found 22 per cent are planning to resign in the next two years - up from 18 per cent the previous year and just 12 per cent in 2021 - in the wake of complaints of poor pay, declining mental health and low morale.
The stark figures from the Police Federation’s annual survey come after a record figure of almost 9,200 officers left forces last year, with one police figure warning: “They are feeling that it’s just not worth being a police officer any more. We have never known it so bad.”
According to the survey, officers have had faeces thrown at them and endured being spat at in public, with many feeling like they are a “scapegoat” for the nation’s issues
TalkTV's Julia Hartley-Brewer is joined by former Metropolitan Police Detective Hamish Brown OBE, who says what people expect from a job has changed.

Question is WHY are they quitting ? Is it because they are sick of being asked to be woke social workers.....or perhaps the newer PCs don't like working shifts !?!?! Bottom line is that the Top Brass at the Police have brought this on themselves. DEI strikes again !!!!

Maybe these officers want to leave because of the same reason and how they are being forced to police? Do you really think most of them like letting antisemitic chants in the streets? No, allowing that will be coming from the top

It’s okay. 400 new migrants arrived today……. According to statistics they all take the jobs the British apparently don’t want. Most jobs these days aren’t what you signed up for. There’s a clause in most employment contract saying you must carry out additional duties to cover the businesses needs. Which means you are under obligation to do whatever your told to do

People who here are calling the police have no idea of the dangers they encounter on a daily basis. As a police officer, i would leave home for work. My wife would ask, "What time are you coming home". My reply would be, "When i go out that door, i dont know what day or, if i am coming home". I did this willingly on a daily basis to do my duty for the oublic that paid my wages. In my service 3 of my "Friends" were murdered on duty while willingly going to work to serve the public. So dont talk to me about accountability, or going out to get a real job. You have no idea, what it is like running into a knife fight in the street, where the knives can be turned on you. Ask me how i know, what its like believing the next few minutes could be my last.

Sorry to hear about your colleagues, but in my line of work (building) we have about ten times as many annual fatalities as the combined UK police forces. 40-50 per year. I think agriculture is pretty bad too.

Yeah, I get it, then on the other hand, you get police that won't address knife gangs that stand by and ignored grooming gangs, police that are politically motivated and are more interested in naughty words, offensive jokes, hurty words on the internet .so called low level crimes. There isn't a police man on site, I've listened to your story, and I fully sympathise with you. You also have to listen to other people's stories and experiences as well. The lack of trust with the police is not for no reason. I also fully understand that a lot of the problems come from above and the police superiors , not the average police themselves. The councils and the police need big improvements and readjustments to gain public support, I can give you many examples from my own experiences and how the police have failed badly. If the police were any other business, it would be bankrupt by now for its poor performance.
