Question about redundancy. what happens if you're at your deepest point in the mine and your scooter breaks? Do you have enough gas to get back to the surface if you have to swim back, versus using your scooter?

If one of our scooter breaks then we tow diver that has broken scooter. We usually drive quite slowly (second gear in our NLS Scooter). If we tow another diver then we can use bigger gear so speed is quite same. We always have full resurses when we do long dives. That includes full oxygen tank (200 bar) and new scrubber. I have enough oxygen if have to swim instead of scootering. Also routes are not so long. In 90 m level we have three bailouts with us. Nitrox 50 and oxygen are not in mine section but are waiting us in open water section. We do long and deep dives with same team (3 divers) so if something goes really wrong (scooter and rebreather breaks) for one diver then we have total of six bailouts for one diver in mine section. We can also plan secondary exits so we can exit faster using another exit route.
