    Okay, am I the only one who just loves the ones that incorporate the weapon forging, I mean, it's half of the game right there and in more recent titles it has almost no representation in their openings. Plus, I also find it really cool to see how some of the crazier weapons are built, it makes it feel like there's just a little more care than they needed to put in.

  • @DJWeapon8

    +Brandon Brown I agree wholeheartedly. They should make skippable cutscenes that extensively shows the forging process of each weapon type as well each element of their respective weapon types. Like every fire greatsword has the same unique cutscene, while an ice gunlance has another. As for armor, maybe they should just show have each piece is assembled.

    While I'd personally love that, I think it's more work than necessary for such a little touch. A cool touch, but still little.

    Brandon Brown They work on MH4U's monster intros and there are one for each monster barring subspecies. And those are arguably not necessary, but the fans loved it. And besides, MH is not a yearly release game (slowly turning into one though unfortunately, what do you expect from crapcom) and they did a half-assed job with the monster intros on generations by basically just 3 seconds of the monster doing something banal and plastering its name on the screen. They have plenty of time to add these touches.

  • @brandonbrown6922

    @brandonbrown6922

    Yeah, but then you realize that this would require 10 times the number of cutscenes, one for each armor piece, Blademaster and Gunner. Especially if they are "extensive."

  • @DJWeapon8

    @DJWeapon8

    8 жыл бұрын

    Brandon Brown Armor pieces are pretty much the same. Full plate underneath and monster scales, shells, and hides attached to them for elemental protection. So it'd really be just one animation for each armor set regardless.

    Lyfa Report from Toyo Keizai (big publisher of a magazine in Tokyo focused on politics, economics and business). "- Sony signed a deal with Capcom last year for Monster Hunter 5 on PS4/PC, specifically excluding Switch. A lot like the SFV contract excludes Xbox One. Sony paid a lot. - MH5 is an open-world game aimed at Westerners - with a lot of streamlined gameplay - no timer, no missions, less gathering and prep, more action based, quick time events, less complicated and fewer weapons. 2018 release. - Someone at Capcom leaked the deal to Nintendo. Nintendo have been quiet. - MH Portable series is getting resurrected for Switch, headed by main MH team, because Capcom don't expect MH5 to do well in Japan. Traditional MH game - new weapons and environmental stuff, some elements from MHX. 2018. - MHXX is getting a Switch port to set up for Portable." What they started with Unite's and Portable 3rd's opening with npcs in the village sounds to get more focus in MH5 if there is a lot of streamlined gameplay. There were barely any streamlined gameplay in the previous entries so this big change is going to be a leap for the series, whether die hard fans will like it or not since MH5 is not aimed at them. Quick time events have die hard fans worried already. To them it sounds like a cinematic game with a mature story and main character talks. Well, the opening for Unite and Portable 3rd have already proved that. Anyway, this change will compare to when RE series went from tank controls to action controls. With tank controls it peaked with RE2. RE4 didn't sold more than RE2 but it was a nice welcome. RE5 and RE6 which gets hated a lot are still Capcom's most sold games. MH with traditional gameplay peaked with MHP3rd with 4.9M and MH4, MH4U and MHX have sold 4.1M respectively. It's time to branch out the mainline series for a wider audience like RE did.

    I remember getting Freedom 2 for Christmas and not knowing about the series at all. I tried it out and I actually had a lot of denial in myself for not being good enough at the game from constant failure. I had so much trouble even making a well-done steak. After days of practice, getting into the game was the one of the best decisions I have made for myself. I've played every game ever since in the handheld systems and I gotta say it's my favorite series. It's such a different and unique world with since many possibilities. Fighting a new monster for the first time is so fun even though I might get my ass handed to me. My favorites are MHFU and MH4U. Never underestimate a game by its demanding and hard content. #MHXXfortheWest

    11:42 This one, this one right here got me into the series Monster hunter freedom unite was the game that started it all for me Back when I was 8 my dad let use his psp which he didn’t play much anymore when he was downloading games for the psp he saw one, monster hunter freedom unite He said “hey Mack do you want play this game” I looked and me being a naive young boy I asked what it was about. My dad not knowing what monster hunter was said it was brain sucking aliens, how wrong he was. When I went camping with my family I was bored and the psp was fully charged and my sister wasn’t playing her games so picked it up I looked at the games I wasn’t in the mood for patapon, nor locoroco and then I saw it Monster hunter freedom unite, I booted it up Expecting some weird alien game but instead I found my new favourite game I played that game everyday and as for my weapon of choice the hammer After defeating many giaprey, blonga and conga I took on my first big monster The giadrome the battle was epic and after I conquered it I took my next foe The bulldrome and after wiping the floor with bulldrome I made its hammer and I took on the velocidrome and wiped the floor with it I made a fancy vespoid armor set and the I fought the gendrome who put up a ferocious fight but I kicked its ass And then I fought the 3 douches that hindered my progress Yain kut ku Congalala Cephadrome When I fought yain kut ku he sent me running after he shot me with his fire attacks Congalala farted on me and I didn’t know how to get rid of it And cephadrome kicked my shit in After getting better gear and learning their weaknesses yain kut ku went down first After breaking his head he quickly went down Congalala was next, I was out of potions and with the little bit of health left I stood no chance and as it charged at me swiping at whatever was in front of it he fell and one last blow to the head finish him off And last was cephadrome After grinding velocidrome I got its sword and shield and I crushed cephadrome But then the bastard The bitch That piece of shit That blind cu- Khezu, fuck khezu That monster made me rage quit I couldn’t focus, there was no theme. And i stopped playing the game because of khezu and I slowly forgot about the franchise and I moved on with my life However one day in class I went onto one of the computers and as I was scrolling through KZread I saw a trailer Monster hunter 3 ultimate This game made me return And unlike last time I didn’t rage quit Until I did again You see after I had my great battle with lagiacrus cha cha left me (the dick) and I had to capture a lagiacrus. I was like fuck that so I stopped playing, I played 4 ultimate and generations and I still play world and iceborne to this day This series means so much to me And the person who started my adventure with this series My dad I have to thank him He passed away 4 years ago I still play the games, because of him Thanks dad

    I started on the tail end of the Monster Hunter [PS2] era. (The year leading up to them discontinuing the online servers.) Thanks to the online network it had, that will always remain the version closest to my heart. Lots of great memories with the friends I made. Although the series definitely got better and better with each installment in the series. (At least as of MHF Unite and MH Tri.) It's incredibly rare for that to happen to a series. Best to treasure them while you can. :)

    I like how the opening cutscenes tell a story of a world focused around the natural balance, with hunters and monsters being more or less evenly matched (when the hunters work in groups) until Elder Dragons start to wake up. From there the humans begin to face losing battles until they rely more on ambush strategies and new weaponry to get the job done.

    I am beyond angry with myself. I'm almost 29, and I only just got into Monster Hunter with my purchase of a 3DS and MH4U, but goddamn was it worth every penny. Like $160, I'm getting ready to go up against the Pink Rathian, I have like 150 hours clocked in so far, and I am so in love with the game that I haven't even had the desire to check any other 3DS games out. I haven't even really played online yet, and I'm still so enamored with the game... It is completely unchallenged when it comes to world building and monster design. Nothing can even come close!

    I like how Capcom teases new monsters or boss monsters. In Portable 3rd's opening they sort of hint at Amatsumagatsuchi when it starts off in the storm at what I assume is the monster's view. I think you can also very breifly see/hear it in the opening cutscene for that game.

    One thing I love about monster hunter is actually how similar the monsters are at times, but I don't go out thinking I'm fighting the same thing every time. I know it's because of the game mechanics of the wyverns but I enjoy seeing the varying attacks reoccur in different monsters. I feel like I'm analyzing the skeletal structure of each wyvern. Some might say it breaks immersion to think like this, but I enjoy it and do it inherently. I love how Brachydos pounds the ground similar to how Zinogre does. I like seeing the various move sets. I do kind of wish that the monsters had more attacks. In G rank lower monsters are now more ferocious. I somewhat want them to have used them earlier and have G rank use a subspecies.

  • @brandonbrown6922

    @brandonbrown6922

    Yeah, one of the best things stylistically about Monster Hunter is how... organic its monsters are, being just outside the realm of reality, but only just. There are a few that go a little too far, personally, such as the Brachydios, might also be a little frustration at how over-powered his mechanic is(Not just bitching here, but when there is NO downside to using something in a game where getting the right tools for the right job is so integral is NOT good for it. It removes choice, and that's just no fun anymore.) but he does kind of look a little... plastic, might also be the dark color scheme hiding some details.

    Monster hunter 3 Portable have cats as partners, and yes you can make mini-armor and weapons for them. When you use up material from a monster to craft armor/weapons, you get scraps of that material, and those are used to make cat armor/weapons. Its pretty complex system cause for bomb cats you want to give them extra defense hammers and for melee cats you want to give them good raw, sharpness and affinity.

As wildly successful as the Monster Hunter series is these days, and with the recent release of the Warcraft movie and the announcement of the Detective Pikachu film, there's no better time for Capcom to try their own video game adaptation.
