Toradeen in G3 is cute and easier to believe because there is a development in their relationship and dynamics, whereas in G1, this doesn't happen and Toraline is just a mean girl.

My thoughts exactly. I don't see Toradeen in G1. G1 Toralie honestly has more chemistry with Cleo. Toradeen in G3 is pretty adorable though.

I know Toreli was a bully to her and her friends but besides that, they didn't have any depth to them. It felt really out of the blue. I would have preferred making up a totally different character to have G1 Clawdeen with. Since Clawdeen was canonically lesbian but it never expanded upon because Mattel I believe didn't think the time was "right". Now I guess it is. They should have just made the comic about G3 Toreli and Clawdeen. Or Cleo and Frankie since that's what they're doing in the show. I actually don't understand why they didn't make it about Cleo and Frankie. Spelldon and Valentine make sense tho. Love it. It's been written in Valentine's diary I believe very briefly. Idk but I'm very upset that the original creator wasn't even called for these comics. It was unfair that mattel let him go and they took all his work 🥲

​@@anordinarygurl9642 completely unrelated, but when u mentioned Cleo and Frankie being together in 1 sentence, my mind automatically wished we also got Ghoulia to be with them as a poly couple! it would've been a nice callback to g1 since cleo had lots of chemistry/(closeness) w her and also the fact that they're all equally categorized as undead humans lol

@@anordinarygurl9642 Clawdeen was never confirmed to be a lesbian in g1, the creator just said that he was open to the idea of her being a lesbian but not that it was in the plans. And remember that Halloween movie? She appears to have a crush on Draculaura's cousin at the end of the film! At the very least she is bisexual. I'm only saying this because it's a huge misinformation about the character!

You're absolutly right. Mattel still favors G1 which is why they thought that putting what shoudlve been a G3 couple in a previous generation comic was the best way to make easy money. Plus both Toralei and Clawdeen are different in their seperate generations so tge personality wouldnt work like this.

It's frustrating because I was open to the idea of g1 Toradeen but if they had shown us how they got on friendly terms & decided to date. This comic I feel also makes their personalities... kinda bland for the sake of the plot and cute moments.

Man, would’ve been better if they gave Clawdeen a new original character for a Girlfriend.

To be honest, the character just ends up being noted to serve Clawdeen's girlfriend.

Spelldon and Valentine is a old ship with hints from authors so I'm glad they make this more canon

Valentine made one other appearance in G1. The graphic novel: I Only Have Eye For You. He was trying to help a bunch of the ghouls (behind the scenes) get ready for a big dance.

Why do OC's get an origin story on how they fell for eachother but not Clawdeen and Torelei. 😅 They're relationship just feels awkward without knowing how it happened, and it's all fluff. I would've liked more conflict considering Torelei was the mean girl and both girls have fierce personalities.

Valentine and Spelldron aren't Ocs. Valentine was a villain in one of the movies and Spelldron was mentioned as Valentine's crush in the book that used to come with the dolls. G1 was cancelled before Spelldron got a doll.

fun fact, in g3 clawdeen is supposed to be lesbian, the leaked show bible of season 1 said so. a love interest was planned for season 2 but it was scrapped and pushed to season 3, except season 3 hasnt been greenlit since the quiet on set and most likely will be cancelled after season 2 :///

Honestly wish it was gen3 characters in the comics or/and we got canon gay 2 packs of dolls. Mattel loves to release a new collector doll every other day, don’t understand why we couldn’t have a pride collection?

My main thing is that, with the G1 designs, Torelei and Clawdeen dont work. At all. This is a really cute concept, but they definently should have picked different characters.

Honestly, I've never shipped Clawdeen with any character because of how disinterested in romance she seemed. Toralei being her girlfriend feels so random to me. I'm not even sure if it was a popular ship. I always saw Clawdeen x Venus or Clawdeen x Draculaura art personally. I think Clawdeen looks good with Viperine based on that one 2-pack. Idk, it kinda feels like their together literally because they were main characters who were both single when G1 ended.

Theres something so refreshing about the development of G3 Toralei's character, The way it just embaraces how poingniant her situation trully is and takes its time to explore her feelings in a way G1 NEVER FRIGGING BOTHER DOING! case in point, the fact that she had a "redemption arc" at the end of the scarier reef movie that went over people's heads so much so that nobody remembers yet ITS THE ONE THREAD, the one SLIVER The G1 toradeen shipers (lets be real, its mostly lesbian clawdeen enthusiasts) CLING TO in order to justify that ship making any scence in G1, as opossed to G3 that in my opinion did a LOT better actually putting The ground work for people to be invested in toradeen

they're still teens and it's summer break in the comic. we're definitely missing some context on how they started dating, but I guess Mattel didn't want the writer/artist to cover that story? 🤷‍♀️

i liked the stories but i do wish they had highlighted other lgbt characters of the franchise

In the Free Comic Book Day issue, it's mentioned that Draculaura has been going through a lot and very busy lately, so I think that's why she isn't at the gathering in the comic.

I could see these recent comics coming out sharing a canon since they're all under IDW. 🤔 I also learned recently there's a YA novel coming out with Drac as the main character, but the synopsis sounds wild I don't think it's main canon. Apparently she starts crushing on a human boy? And a tragedy happens at the school that's tied to her past??

As someone who remembers Valentine from G1 movie..this feels really weird ngl. Both stories feel out of place (more like a mid fanfics than anything remotely canon) but the second one was definitely more natural in showing main couple.

To me, Valentine's comic feels less "fanfic" because it's heavily referencing his doll diary and what the original G1 writers seemed to have wanted to do with his character. I can't say the same about Clawdeen's story. That one does feel pretty fanfic.

Im okay with toradeen I just wished they showed how they got together. It would have made it so much better, especially since it’s their G1 designs I’m going to guess that’s their personality too. A how this relationship started comic would make it 10x better

I don't mind Clawdeen and Toralei as a couple, honestly. The ending of Great Scarrier Reef, and in general some of the webisodes have shown them to get along in a frenemy way, and it's a cat/dog dynamic. In general I feel like Toralei isn't as much of an irredeemable person the comments make her out to be. I'm very glad they didn't go with the dracudeen route, at least.

I haven't seen g1 content in ages, but it's interesting to hear there were some frenemy moments with Toralei and Clawdeen. I'm totally open to an opposites attract, cat/dog dynamic but this comic didn't quite work for me. But if Mattel commits to G1 Toradeen, I'd be interested in future stories

oh wow, I never noticed Toralei had a little lesbian flag pin on the cover :o I think we can count that for her at least. I only ever noticed the pride flag behind them, from my understanding it's meant to be a more inclusive design compared to the usual rainbow flag.

I'm glad I'm not the only one who's not on board with Toralei and Clawdeen as a ship like Clawdeen Toralei has bullied you're best friends and little sister.Them being together is weird considering all that Toralei did. I'm just saying Skelita Calaveras, Jinafire Long, Catrine DeMew were right there. Also, Toralei is the only one with a lesbian pin. Clawdeen doesn't have a pin at all of any sexuality I don't get why they're comfortable of showing Toralei sexuality but not Clawdeen? I feel if they cut Ghoulia's subplot and explain how Toralei and Clawdeen became an thing I would be on board. Like did any of her friends have push-back on Toralei. I think it'll be hard to get a physical copy now, most comic book websites I check it looks to be sold out. IDW Publishing has a limited version with a black/white cover but it's $25 usd. eBay has a few listings but prices went up. You might wanna try asking a local comic book shop in your area? I don't know if they could order it for you. If you want it digitally I know you can go to Amazon and get it for the Kindle, or use Google Play Books.

As clawdeen herself sais this is just a sick rumor somebody made up. G3 yes heck even a guy who advocates and even fights that clawdeen remain heterosexual would favor toradeen in g3 over g1. Sure you come to my channel its chock full of straight clawdeen stuff from fan art wars to different fandoms fighting for it but even all these who you guys say is homophobic we all would rather it be g3. G1 they hate each other and you know clawdeens heart shed be dumped by torelai first fight they had. Shed cry in her room for weeks
