Years ago,I had a tiny wood shoppe in my Basement and it's nice to see how the wood gets processed from square one,or two,or three

I suggest that the few slabs that you cut off the top of a beautiful log be only 3/16th inch thick a maybe you could sell it as veneer.

Get that wood in kiln ASAP and treat/ground soak area around where wood was stored/sitting as we in FL have every type of destructive wood bug known and it never gets cold enough to control an infestation. Nice slabs, however bug damage only subtracts from a slabs value far more than any added charcter value. Ray

Very nice video

would suggest that you try "pentacryl" on the spalted and softer areas before cutting them out or resorting to epoxy filler in the removed voids. Pentacryl soaks in like water, solidifies leaving a "workable" deep layer of that soft or spalted areas. We use it wood turning and carving of spalted blanks. It is a polymer but sinks deep into the fibers, bonding them together and filling the voids without becoming brittle. Nice job on the video. First time viewer. What brand is your log grapple? Trying to find one w/o teeth in my area.

Wondering when will you guys return, after doing the funky turkey I guess. I concur on the fact that these slabs will turn out neat when dry. Poor gruby he lived such a good life until he met the quickness and finesse of the sawmill blades. We shall not forget thy contributions. Lol
