He was this close 🤌 to being Reed Richards in Marvel's Fantastic Four MCU Reboot. He was my top choice..but Marvel Studios have been on a losing streak as of late, and were seriously considering Jake Gyllenhaal as Richards, Adam Driver also. But ultimately went with Pedro Pascal. Dev would've been perfect, imo

The editing in this advertisement is masterclass. Told me everything I need to know about the film before watching, focused on the setting and style instead of plot, and the timing between cuts incredible. Goosebumps at 0:48. Perfect trailer for the film that may have it all.

Props to whoever made the trailer. It was 3 minutes but it felt like 30 seconds. I want to watch it right now.

Back from the theatre, this movie is a gem for which I have no words 💯💯Dev Patel said the story took years in making and you will see it when you watch it in theatres. Although the trailer is amazing, I am glad I didn’t watch the trailer earlier 😎

I’m not one to comment on movies but this is an exception. This movie got me through a wave of emotions all thanks to Dev Patel. Really hats off to him for pulling this off. Absolutely proud of him! I can see him going far. He really deserves more recognition in Hollywood. He has such a good range. He really pulls you into the character in such a beautiful way. Literally had goosebumps watching this!

His body of work speaks for itself, this is pretty mich the only film I'd consider going to the cinema for this year. Dev is the man and its just the positive buzz I needed to see him doing his entirely own thing. Good on Jordan for recognising the pure talent of the man. I am sure his place in film history is already sealed and deservedly so. I'm sure this will be one of those films that the next generation talk about as if it was "his first big thing..have you seen it etc.." I don't know why I know but I do, he'll be in high demand as a director and actor for years to come...he'll probably have to turn down bond...unless he gets to direct. Let's get a movement going Dev Patel = James Bond ( but he has full creative freedom and final cut) but to be honest I think he could do sex and city and it'd still be a masterpiece. The man is way and above almost anyone still working today. So happy to see him direct and write.

High hopes for this one, plus the fact that this was originally supposed to come out on Netflix only, however Jordan Peele watched the movie and bought the distribution rights in order for it to get a wider release. Given Jordan's own movies and content, its safe to say that he saw something in this movie worth investing in. Hyped for sure!

This has to be one of the best edited trailer I have seen in a long time. Introduces the protagonist, antagonist, gives a gist of the story, a few snippets of action and doesn’t give away the whole plot. Brilliant. I’ll be watching this film.

These trailers are the best trailers I've seen since 2014 for The Hobbit! Loved those movies! Def watching this! 💯🔥✨

I recently took my uncle to see this and we both loved it. I haven't seen Dev Patel since Slumdog Millionaire, he was great in that and great in this. For cell phone and drone footage, the cinematography was great. All the acting was supurb, I really felt the story, and I loved all the action with Patel training the inhabitants how to fight being an unexpected surprise.

The beating of his chest syncing with/transitioning into the title gave me chills, this trailer is amazing.

Wow know that’s what I call a 21st century Action thriller. ❤❤

It was a great action movie. First of all, I did not expect the movie to be so moving and emotional at the same time. The camera in the movie went into the fight and made me feel like I was there. There is movement and intrigue at every moment of the film. In one word, it is an amazing movie.

I hope this movie does well, Dev Patel is such an underrated actor, and this seems like it has a great story and has stunning visuals.

If a real historic figure can be whitewashed to fit the racist tendencies of a religious movement, a fictional character can absolutely be depicted by someone whose skin colour differs from what the author of the adapted works intended.

Thi is something extremely rare I have watched over the decades, So intense and clear, you know story will be just simple revenge but at the same time you know you will live every emotion while watching this in theater with proper sound system and isolation from your day to day life... Uff wish people make more such fresh movie with simple story but effective story telling...

The fact that those little action scenes we saw didn’t have the stupid, and typical quick cuts that Hollywood has already gets me excited to watch this.

See? It’s possible to make an amazing trailer, without spoiling the movie, with great music, and stellar editing. This should honestly make history, trailers have truly been lacking as of late, this surely raises the bar.

Wrong. Trailer was over 3 minutes and no almost no real dialog.. whats the point of the movie? they definitely showed all of the best scenes in that trailer.. a good trailer builds suspense for the vibes of the movie. Without showing the movie itself. These just flash all the coolest scenes at you to get into the theater.

Worth every penny to see in a theater. Happy to support Dev, he was amazing. Highly recommend.

Never in my dreams, I've imagined Dev Patel as an action star much less an action director. He's broken the shackles or stereotypical portrayal and can't wait to watch this one.

Standing ovation!!! I always loved the story how Dev Patel absentmindedly went to the open casting call with a friend for skins & ended up being a main feature role. Upgraded to Slum Dog Millionaire & enjoyed nominations galore of praise. For his first directing debut he slams down this beauty of brilliant culturally rich story telling with scriptwriting & starring. Jordan Peele doesn’t endorse unless it’s worthy to his own offerings. Well done!!

It wasn't anything special but that "twist" completely took me out of the movie. That and he's a bit pretentious with his messaging too. I mean just look at your response to my comment. Also, I think I once heard that Dev Patel was originally casted on Slumdog Millionaire because of a suggestion by Danny Boyle's daughter, who had actually watched him on Skins

Good for Dev man. I love to see actors making their directorial debuts. If Hollywood won't give it to you, make it yourself. This will be a day 1 watch

One of the best in recent years

Hanuman be praised, all of my mirth, vigour, love and vengeance rests in him, Maruti, Anjaneya and Bajrangabali Ram Ram. This film is an absolute triumph

I'm glad this is not a cheesy superhero movie, we needed an old school action romper like this!

Just watched it it was a visual masterpiece. The actors were incredible the story simple yet moving I was glued to the screen. Even the parts that I couldn’t understand captivated my attention.

Went to see it last night and it was fantastic, it deserves awards but probably will not get them, Just superb...

Dude.. bloody phenomenal.. give that guy who made the audio mix a raise.. and a bloody award... can't wait..

Just finished watching this! All I can say is I have never seen a movie so deep, fierce, and meaningful. This a must see! I can go on and on but I’ll leave with just one phrase..MINDBLOWN!!! You’d be out of your mind not to see this.

Excellent movie! A must-see!!!!

The line "A small ember can burn down everything" is a reference from the Great Ramayana where Lord Hanuman burned down a whole city. Kudos to the writers of this movie.
