People forget how difficult it is to make this type of film is for first time director on a very low budget AND while Pandemic was at its peak.

Let's see how good this movie is. NEVER see Indian actors on film. Dev looks like he could fit the role but we shall see. If only Hollywood didn't pick the same type of Indian people ot fit the roles. Like with Bollywood the acting isn't so good and the characters aren't extremely intimidating. Bollywood has its own form of bad characters in their movies but for real menacing characters it really has to be played up or shown more. Hollywood already has its stereotypes against Indian people. I am Indian and I don't care who says what about what I am saying in this comment. The character who is face to face with Dev's character - who is about to fight him - doesn't look intimidating at all. I hope this movie is good. I will definitely give it a chance though. I liked the way the actress who played Kamala Khan played her role - from what I saw from her acting. You know how like Indian movies in theaters don't really do well or don't get a lot viewers but only a few people still go see the movies? Like a few old white people and Indian people of course? I know Netflix would have had this movie in its wack sections that no one watches. Glad Jordan Peele pulled this from Netflix like you said and has gotten it to be in theaters. Let's see how it is. Indian people need to be respected but I don't know it may take some time for them to really be seen differently or more accepted in movies and society as regular people--but then again maybe it may not happen. DEI totally fks things up--not saying that this is a DEI movie but the way things are so woke now and trying to ram acceptance of other people's races, LGBTQIA+ and other stuff in entertainment is ridiculous. Anyway that's all. I like M. Night Shyamalan's movies though--they're really good and entertaining.

Really shows the real dirty and corruption in India and the favoritism from both economics and by religious caste...the Caste (varna) system was set up by the Arya and their corrupt Brahmin priests a few thousand years ago to keep the other Arya and the Anarya 'dasa' (servants ) in their place.(read the Rg veda)..for this and many other reasons is why I'm no longer hindu...

Just watched this movie , it has raw fight scenes , and a really good screen play , watch' this movie and it won't disappoint you.

I love action/revenge/justice movies with martial artist heroes and protagonists like these including John Wick, The Equalizer, Jason Bourne, Atomic Blonde, Sisu, The Protege, The Matrix, Batman, Captain America movies, Lara Croft, Mission Impossible etc. I just saw The Monkey Man Friday night a few hours ago it was awesome 😎.

Brother got a little swoll for this movie too! This is so sick! What a work of art Dev! Jordan Peele came in clutch to give this the theatrical edge it deserves. Someone mentioned how he didn’t get the recognition he deserved. It’s so dope that he went and created his own path… that’s real gangsta shit and mad respect for not waiting for someone to give it to him.

One of the best and most effective movie trailers I've ever seen. The song, the pacing, all of it, perfect. Must see this.

Yeah, I just watched the movie just myself, and I've been to India before and know the religions and stuff, and while the essence of India is there, they see their deities seriously, and it looks like someone from a western society got ahold of Hanuman, one of their God's and kind of bastardized, their representation of him. While the caricature is about identical, the backstory about him, is as if they saw a monkey and just made up their own story, and called it their lead's "upbringing." Making their temples look like they're fight clubs, when in actuallity, they're more like a "free range" church. Usually Indian movies take those religious stuff for granted, but whether it Dev Patel's direction choice, to please Peele and possibly a western audience, or possibly Peele's company itself, since they have monkey in their title. I just heard that maybe due to local laws about specific religion portrayals, and/or to connect with their audience, they said they were going to change a bunch of things before releasing it there. I know a bit of the Hindi language, and I caught some things that were not on the subtitles in the Western release. I can imagine it can rub off on people wrong who are from India. My analysis yes

The cinematography and directing of this film looks absolutely beautiful! Dev Patel has some such a long way. This is gonna be off the charts in terms of fun/entertainment!!!

The relief when you can tell that he gets how action should be shown in films😊😊 The camera follows the action instead of trying to hide it. None of that 15 cuts in 6 seconds Taken 2 type shit. This looks special.

This movie was so good, great filmography, great script, heart pounding soundtrack and lots adrenaline. Dev Patal did an amazing g job as a director, writer and actor

Absolutely brilliant movie. The fights are brutal but there's so much more going on here. Dev Patel is so believable in this. There's a banging soundtrack to go with it as well. If you like gritty then you'll love this. It's superb

After watching the first trailer, I thought it looked like a fun action film but I wasn't crazy about it. But after watching this trailer, yup take my money I wanna watch it right now.

It's because they have the budget to produce so big, here the actor itself charges 70% of the budget of the film and in rest 30% they make the film with low quality visuals etc.. They compromise on art that's where we lack. But, Rajamouli has upgraded our cinema to next level I believe and ppl are ready to spend crores for him. This man was definitely highly influenced by the Raid 2, but if there's one movie to take influence from it's that one. Looks great. We need more high quality martial arts movies.

This movie is unlike anything else. The music, the acting, the editing it’s all so incredible

Dev has outdone himself again! This is a great movie… the best part is the fight scenes close to the end and the story behind his character is unbelievable but still feels real. This gritty, no holds bar fight scene at the end is the John wick of Asia the culture is so complex and beautiful. I only wish he did this before he’s come along way since Slum Dog. I am a huge fan of fight choreo and the style of this is just... incredible. It seems like more Silat than a more conventional martial art. Which means done right the brutality and the beauty should be a truly unique experience. Can't wait. This is Dev Patel's Rocky moment and I will support it

Dev Patel is such a unit. Made the Story, Directed it, Wrote the screenplay and Jordan Peele helping him with production and bringing it to the cinemas. Dude is single handedly taking on Bombay Film Industry and South Indian Film Industry
