I watched this in amazement. The Moms Mabley was the essence of genuine. Redd Foxx could have been called the male Moms Mabley. However, Kris and Moms are the reason i keep watching this. Rarely have i ever seen a Man handle celebrity so well. The real ones vibrant at a frequency that cancels Sexism, Racism, division and lack of heart. They were a beautiful pair of souls. A stolen kiss because his heart and excitement knew better. Timeless. No issue with letting a Queen lead. That my friends is simply an unbroken man.

If you want to laugh just listen to Moms Mabley. Listening in 2019

great chemistry between the two...Kris (looking quite handsome) was a fantastic sport and Moms truly slayed!! Gladys looked amazing. I wish I was around during these times.... There always seemed to have been something so pure and genuine going on in the social climate of the time.

Hysterical!... and so raw! R.I.P. Mom's!

Even the great Richard Pryor said that Mabley was the best!!!!

God, that was a thing of Beauty.. Ms. Mabley at her mostly uninhibited best, Kris at his most gracious, and to top it off, Gladys, the most sweet of them all.

The entertainers during that time and era were just that , professional performers. That is why everyone loved the music and the musicians back then - no matter what their so called ethnic placing was.

Moms had me ROFL LMDAO. Kris, ever so graceful. The chemistry between the two.

I remember seeing this as a kid when it first aired...and falling outta my chair and in love with Moms!! This is a gem forever!!!!

I'm so glad I grew up in the 70s those were some good memorable times it was a privilege to be a part of that era✌

I was so excited to see the HBO Whoopi Goldberg special on Moms Mabley. I was amazed, laughed out loud at her, and ashamed that I had not included her in my Black History Curriculum when teaching. This segment with Kris and Moms blows me away!

I listened to Moms Mabley Records as a child, when I was about 8 years old. I'm 70 now, and still remember her great comedy. at &0, she has inspired me to try my hand at being a comedian. I''ll call myself, "Ms. J". Hahahaha!

The 1st time I saw this was on Whoopi Goldberg's special! Moms Mabley was something else! May God Rest Her Soul!

I remember watching this with my mom. I was 12 at the time and just remember her letting out this combination of a scream and a laugh when Moms Mabley took out her dentures.

Moms was a role model for female comedians of color. Grew up on her...altho my parents were cautious of what I got to hear. And from her came Whoopie..whom I still love and adore. I remember her broadway performance about her "long luxurious hair" with a sheet wrapped around her head. We've come a long way, baby.

The Seventies, what a time! I was fourteen , then. Jackie "Moms" Mabley was probably the funniest comedienne for her time, sorry , Lucy and Carol. The 'Ol gal didn't do too bad for herself coming from the chit'lin circuit!

I was in high school when this particular Grammy Awards aired. I am so glad I was born when I was born!

That was when music was great and original.

The allotted time on these awards shows is so controlled now. No way would they allow a six-minute, rambling presentation of the nominees. I liked it when awards shows went a half hour overtime. Mom's is hysterical.

Love love her first remember hearing her when I snuck my dad's records she was raw uncut and funny so was skillet and Leroy And pigmeat and markham anyone remember them.. Lol Red fox
