Great ingenuity in creating a quick and easy solution for a problem created by the RV builders. Their inattention to safety details by using a ramp that’s far too steep, puts all their customers at risk every time we load and unload. Thanks for helping us all!

I saw this video over a year ago and ended up using your ideas and it worked great for my Wildwood FSX 190RT toy hauler. The ramp alone was way too steep for loading my GL1800 California Sidecar trike. Even with raising the tongue all the way, it was still difficult. I picked up 2 sets of 3 ton jack stands on sale from Harbor Freight but only use 3 of them. I also picked up 2 sets of 44" wide 7'10" long folding ramps from Discount Ramps, also on sale and removed the pin hinge on one set. I combine one folding set and one of the single ramps for 66" wide. Game changer! I have used this many times now and Loading and unloading couldn't be easier. It does take a little longer getting setup but it's worth it. Thank you so much for posting this!

Perfect, I was trying to see this in my head today at the dealer looking at Toy Haulers. I already have a Trifold ramp, to load my Harley's on my other trailer. This Video is perfect, Thank You.

What a great idea, extend the ramp. The manufacturers should offer an extendable ramp so that those of us with big bikes can get them in to the Toyhauler that we bought to haul our toys ha ha.

Great idea. I use the bunge cord to keep the ramp cables pulled center for closing the ramp.

I have that exact ramp and man that thing is heavy. At some point all this turns into work LOL

We did the same thing for our toy hauler as well, the ramp is just too steep. Both are bikes the bags would be scraping on the ground when unloading if it was not for this. Something we have done for a few years now since owning our camper. Nicely done here it is a great idea!!

I have an American Ironhorse Texas Chopper that sits really low and wouldn't be able to load on a normal toy hauler. This idea has given me hope, thqnks for posting.

Great idea. I would add a third Jack stand under the center rubber bumper as the ramp was not designed to hold the weight like that and the flexing and stress would not be good for the ramp.

A third jack would not hurt, although the ATV ramp does a pretty good job spreading the weight & I have not noticed the ramp flexing.

Exactly my thought. When the RV ramp is fully supporting the bike's weight, especially when the rear tire is near the end of the ramp, any weakness in the ramp construction could raise its ugly head. A jack stand in the center is the perfect solution to eliminate the risk and potential (and expensive) damage.

Great idea. I just purchased a Grey Wolf TH which is much smaller than what you have and yes the rear ramp is very steep to ride my gold wing up and besides the fact that I would bottom out as soon as my front tire went over hinge. However for me the problem with your loading technique would be having to haul all the extra stuff with. Where do we store the ramps and jacks? I'm about full up with stuff already. What I do with my TH is jack the front of it up as far as I can (bumper pull)and that seems to work pretty good also when I know I'm going to unload I try to watch for an area that might be better to unload and load my GW. Thanks for the video, defintely something to consider..

I store the ramp, strapped, up against the garage wall along with the jack stands. The ramp is only 5” deep when folded. The jacks can travel almost anywhere, even the bed of your truck. Check out my full walkthrough video for details on how my garage is packed for travel. Best of luck.

I have a 2020 Jayco 222 toy hauler I put the ramp door all the way down resting on cardboard so it doesn't scratch drive my Harley Road King right up into their when unloading I hold the front brake with my feet touching the ramp slowly backing down works fine all the time

When unloading, if the engine was off you could use the clutch to slow or stop the rear wheel, good video.

The ramp is a Black Widow. I got it at Walmart. It’s also available from Discount Ramps. It comes in 2 lengths.

Use springs instead of metal chords to drop your ramp. A leveling block stack on each side. Ramp in the center and you’re good to go. Nothing will move

Seems like a good idea. I'm hoping to pick up a Momentum 5th wheel toy hauler this year. Would the aluminum ramp section support the weight of a trike or golf cart?

The aluminum ramp is rated for 1,000 lbs if I remember correctly. So May need a bit more ramp. Check out Discount Ramps.

I have an electric winch in mine for two reasons. Number one, I can’t lift the ramp to close, or open, by myself. So I put a hook on the door so the winch can do that. Number two probably the reason you did what you did, it’s just too steep. And if it’s raining when you have to load up, it’s impossible. I anchor the winch to the tie down hook in the middle front of the garage, the to a strap connected to the forks of the bike, then I have the remote in my hand, sit on the bike and it works for loading or unloading.

Sir this is exactly what I was looking for. I am not knocking other videos about this very subject but I must say the simplicity of this system and setup is what I had envisioned in my head. The other videos had great DIY ideas that I will definitely store in my memory bank for future reference. But when dealing with a 900 lb motorcycle I wanted something I could count on use after use while not having to make to many modifications to the trailer door itself. In fact I just purchased this exact folding ramp and was brainstorming ways on what to use to hold the trailer door up while I loaded and unloaded my motorcycle. What do you use for a front wheel chock and do you secure it to the floor of your Toy Hauler? Any help and or guidance is greatly appreciated as I’m new to toy hauling. Thank you.

Thank you, you made my day. I use a Titan wheel chock & put bumpers from my local hardware store, mounted to the wall to keep the chock from moving side to side. No need to mount chock to the floor.

Yeah, I think some do. In the beginning we did use it some but not so much anymore. Our ramp is not really good in the rain.

They are standard automotive Jack stands purchased at a local Walmart. The are rated at 3 ton which is much more than I need.

@@TheWanderingSteeles You have no idea how long I have been looking for a solution to this steep ramp that makes it very dangerous ti load my bike by myself . I have seen where guys have made a dove tail or a beaver tail that has hinges on it that hangs from the top of the trailer but that requires a lot of drilling in a lot of tools and I am just that not that kind of girl! This is a way better solution and way safer. I don't know why they make these ramps so steep. I think it's more designed for loading 4 wheelers than motorcycles. Also I found a solution for tying down the bike that doesn't require six tie-downs.I ordered the biker bar for 350 bucks on Amazon and it just clicks right in and you don't have to do anything. It takes all the fun out of riding motorcycle when it takes an hour to unload it and an hour to load it. Between this new biker bar that just clicks the bike right into place and your idea, I can now enjoy this motorcycle more and get more riding done! Thank you so much for this video

@@TheWanderingSteeles well it's been a while but I got my ramps and I got my Jacks and I am going to take a movie of me unloading and loading my bike in my toy hauler. I cannot tell you how much I appreciate this because every time I had to load or unload my bike out of this toy hauler I just dreaded it so much it was kind of taking all the fun out of having it. It was just so Steep and it felt so dangerous that I just did not like it at all

don't start the bike when unloading, put it in 1st gear and use the clutch to let the bike down, works much better than brakes.

Running the engine does not stop me from using the clutch as a rear brake & allows me to go back into the garage should I get too far off of center.

Why wouldn't you just disconnect the cables and let the ramp go down to the ground...like it was made to do...

Because that results in a ramp that is just too steep. My setup cuts the ramp angle in half making for a much safer unload.

I have a Coleman 4 season toy hauler. The ramp angle, with the garage door all the way to the ground, is so steep when I try to drive up the back tire starts to slip! Also, when the bike's front tire breaks over the ramp door at the main hinge, I can barely touch the ramp door because of the steep angle. (I'm 6' 1/2" tall!) My bike is a 2015 HD Ultra Limited. The extra ramp is the only way I can load with complete confidence.
