/ ricardopontesart Moldmaking is something i always dreaded. So messy, and not artistic at all. But if you want to reproduce your work, its a must
Im not an expert, and this is a first for me. I am sure i made lots of mistakes. But i only learn from trying so if you see something wrong post in the comments below.

Well done it was amazing to watch a real reality video as the other videos make it look easy when it really wasn't. Great video

Latex moldmaking is really time consuming. I still can't figure out why some latex parts lift and bend when they dry. Must be the moisture in the air. Polyurathane seems much more stable.

Hi, I would recommend you get a dental vibrator off ebay, this is a little "table" a few inches across that vibrates. Don't use such thin plaster as it is too weak, more like thin toothpaste is better. Apply only a little plaster and use the vibrator to move it into the extremities of your mold. The detail you lost on the feet was a void; you didn't get plaster into that part because an air bubble formed. Finish your pour in layers, using the vibrator to keep air bubbles out and get all the detail - place the vibrator in a plastic bag to keep the plaster off it. Leave it longer to cure and harden as you say (Dental stone is a good alternative as it is stronger and sets in 30 minutes, but is 2-3 x more expensive). For the mouth maybe a two part mold is better - a separate latex part for inside the mouth with a "key" to fit it into the outer mold before pouring? You could use a wooden peg inside the mouth that has the key at the front to insert into the outer latex mold. That can be removed when the outer mold is off, allowing the mouth latex to peel away easier (rather than a big solid chunk of latex)? Great video showing the difficulties, frustrations and fun of being creative. Thanks.

I’d highly suggest mold release. I had to break multiple casts before I got the hint lol
