Make A Two Piece Fibreglass Mother Mold | Two Part Series.
Note: On occasion we make a two piece fibreglass mother mold, but we advise to make fibreglass mother molds with at least three pieces, to avoid any problems with removing the fibreglass mother mold pieces away from the latex mold.

NB: Correction to video: Put wax on first and then PVA - I had a brain malfunction during applying the wax and PVA during this video.
Building a two-piece fibreglass mother mold using polyester fibreglass resin, fibreglass matting & MEKP catalyst for the mother mold. Aluminium tape is used for the seam, plus PVA mold release and Carnauba wax for the mold release agent.
Part Two: 11:39
In this part we attach wooden legs using fibreglass to the fibreglass mother mold. We also drill holes for bolts to keep the mother mold secure and in place, to keep the latex mold in shape ready for concrete casting.

Nice video . I use the foil tape also. Not sure if you watched any of gris videos but he builds a wall out of cardboard and it looks like so much work . But it seems to work well for him.

Hi! Wondering what respirator your using? I really should buy one. Also, your fibreglass seemed to stay wet and usable for quite some time. I've only used fibreglass 3 times maybe, first time it took about a month to only partially cure. Not sure why! Other times it seems to go off a bit quick so applying the matting was a messy race. What type do you use?

Do you use thickner for the latex?

I, personally, don't use latex thickener.
Nice to see the series,How long does the mask last,does it protect from the sanding and other fumes,whe you make your moulds,as i have seen people use different types of mask/respirator.Thanks.Any more RGB🙀 😹

My mask seems to protect from the dust aswell as the fumes. I'm probably due to change the filters or buy a knew mask. If I buy a knew one, I can use the old mask to make a sci-fi mask or something. :D PS: I am going to try to make a video of wiring in the LEDs to my steampunk gas mask in December, if I have time. :)
