How To Make An Epoxy Mother Mold
Тәжірибелік нұсқаулар және стиль
In this tutorial we cover the process of making a 2 part mother mold using our new 307 Lite sculpting epoxy. This is a great mother mold method and material for applications where a clay wall or shim might be impractical or tedious.
You can find Polygem Epoxies here on our webstore: www.brickintheyard.com/collec...
We found this method and material to be a great mother mold approach for unusually shaped parts that might require more complicated, multi-piece mother molds.

could this be used to make a ridged mask
can u add to much of the thickener while kneading

The thickener is inert so the only side effect would be a firmer putty and possibly a more brittle end product.

Brick In The Yard Mold Supply I think this could be a pretty good way to make mother molds for latex masks
Is this what is known as "syntactic dough?"

It is like tooling dough, although it is intended to be "sculptable" so it doesn't have some of the fillers that syntactic dough has.
Obviously an epoxy mold would be more durable that a plaster/hydrocal mother mold but the price difference is rather steep. When do you pick the epoxy over Hydrocal economically speaking.

To be fair, just about everything is more expensive than Hydrocal. This option is for applications that require light weight shells with high strength.
