I like how the only thing I can find when searching these up are either "Rare" gas mask for like $1000 dollars or a $2 truck transmission. No really a $2 truck transmission.

I absolutely love your videos man, cheers. My birthday just passed 5 days ago and my mom bought me an old Soviet GP-5 mask and it sort of started my newfound obsession with gas masks. I've ordered a Polish mp5 that should arrive in a few days and i'm so excited. Your videos have taught me so much and I'm currently looking into buying an NBC suit as well. I love how informative and information packed your videos are, but they're still short, with no unnecessary editing and weird things like that, well done man.

You can buy S10 masks used on eBay for 30 pounds or less, if you like to have a new mask rather than a used one then that’s fine, but used is cheaper just as it is with most things.

I like the S10 and it's close versions as well as the (not too modern but still good) M65

FM12 masks turn up on eBay now for like £30 quite regularly due to how many nations use them and surplus them. Israeli masks are more expensive by comparison unless someone gets a load in, in bulk.

I was the NBC NCO of my company during GW1. Let me tell you, i dont care WHAT anyone says, the Anerican M16A1 mask is CCCCRRRAAAAP.1) It is difficut to put on and seal. You have to do it with eyes closed, tighten straps behind your head, seal ii..and you cant see SHIZ inside it. And if you have to change the filters while still in a contaminated area well you might as well try to clip your toenails with your boots on. The best I can tell you is this one young African American soldier coming to chrck his mask before going to the sandbox. He just looked at me and said : We gonna die. I just sadly nodded.

Got the mf11 for 40 dollars, I find that pretty cheap compared to other purchases on gas masks I had.

I've got a question for the MF-11 the housing for the exhae valve/voice diaphragm seems scary theres no seal in it, its basically like it sits on top of the housing, can it be trusted? for lets say chemical attacks?

I've got a K-1 mask for a good amount of money. It's 40mm stanag. Could you do a review at some point?

I have 2 MP-5 masks and the lenses turns yellowish after a while on both of them. So I can´t say I like the lenses on those.

Ordered MP5 and some rubber overalls, hope the borders dont close, should prepped sooner. Getting masks in Estonia is impossible now, all sold out, so surreal. Companies who have mask sell them overpriced by tenfolds. If it comes with brand new CFF3 filter is it worth using few times until i can get my hands on some modern А2P3R filters? cant get everything in one go. Also i hope you get better

Hi there I’ve been a Asbestos remover for the past 15 years now bloody hell time does fly well I’ve got a question for you can you make a short vid about the differences in rubber example my Scott vision rff4000 respirator is made out of silicone rubber and thinking back all my RPE equipment has been out of silicone rubber I think it would be good video to make because nearly all the commercial made respirators not the military ones are made silicone and Might be no good for Extreme conditions oh yeah I have to shave every single day to Maintain a face fit for my mask so add that in to a vid if you feel like it

I'm pretty sure I've already done a video on rubber used in respirators. Silicone is more popular in civilian industry masks because it is more comfortable but is actually less resistant to certain chemicals. Some military masks such as the US M40 were made from silicone but then they needed a butyl "second skin" to make them suitable for use against blister agents etc.

I’d recommend the Israeli gaz masks

Just curious, is there a reason you did not put the M15 Israeli gas mask? I've heard you say good things about it.

Hey quick question: Say perhaps I accidentally misplace a gas mask filter cap/ seal and now I can’t close it. Could I be a safe alternative if I place the filter in a sealed ziplock bag when I’m done with stuff like cosplay

why would you throw it away you could keep the mask and just seal the filters

I know drinking tubes aren't a necessity on masks, but is there much of a quality difference in masks that have them?Like do some cheaper masks have ones that are susceptible to tearing, bending uncomfortably, weird taste, etc.? Just something I'm curious about, never really looked into it myself.

It's a necessity if you have to wear the mask long enough to get thirsty and you can't take it off to get a drink, you may have to leave it on and drink a meal replacement drink if things are very bad.

Have you since had any of the rubber within the mask tear around the area the chin rests within the mask?

I live in Canada, and I can get 2-4 Soviet masks for the price of one NATO mask here. I really want to get a nato one so I dont have to spend a fortune on filters, but i can't find any at a reasonable price on ebay

Can you not get a Canadian C3 and then get a 60-40mm converter for it, at one point in the UK Canadian C3 masks would sell for under £30, and it's a decent mask for that price. The Canadian C4 mask is meant to be excellent, one of the best on the market.

M40 is made out of silicon rubber so it's fairly soft and comfortable compared to other masks, but if you plan on using it in shtf it's not recommended because quite a lot of chemical agents can just eat through the rubber

I just looked on eBay for an FM12... they seem to be going for $400+!! I’m assuming people think that these will help them with the Coronavirus. I’m pretty sure CBRN filters are not antiviral though. Just crazy

Coronavirus is transmitted by water droplet anyway so a particulate filter would be enough, It's why standard PPE is just an m95 fiber mask.

The filter should have a plug and a cap on the exhale valve. If you wish to throw it away you might just throw it in the trash (NOT RECOMMENDED) or go to your local asbestos disposal Services office. But you can always keep it as a souvenir or something. I personally break them.

Totally depends on the shape of your face, jaw width etc. Most adults would need a medium size mask.

You dont technically NEED one, but a lot of people like to have them in case of any sort of emergency. Heres the thing. In my opinion, it's just for ease of mind. If you are actually planning to survive some sort of disaster and all you have is a mask your still going to die anyways. But it makes people feel safe so more power to them. It takes a lot more than a mask to save you from anything super serious. That being said, you can use them for basic chemicals like spray paint or basic fungals depending on the filter, but a half face respirator does the same thing. It's a lot of ease of mind. Which isnt bad by any means.. but masks arent the end all save all.

Well I actually use a respirator when volunteering to protect my lungs from dust and spores that would cause me to have an asthmatic reaction. However as I've covered before in other videos, accidental chemical leaks or spills, riot events where CS is used, certain types of smoke, bacterial outbreak and actual chemical weapons. Or something as simple as needing a mask when spray painting.

Hey I've got a question, so I have an Israeli civilians gas mask that I got off of eBay and every time I use it my voice gets raspy and my throat starts hurting a bit and i develop a cough for about an hour. The thing is though I don't cough anything up. Could this be like a minor allergic reaction of some sort or is it something to do with the mask? (I don't put a filter on btw)

That filter should be perfectly safe, it doesn't actually have a particle filter (the asbestos bit) advertised, but it is a very good filter against chlorine, phosgene etc. I would guess MASKPOL made those EO-14 style filters for industrial use.

Pretty much any of the masks I show in videos that work, will work against phosgene with the correct filters, Phosgene is an inorganic vapour so ABEK or B type industrial filters will work, or CBRN filters.

To bad the a4 and fm12 are super expensive

My mp5 was utter crap. The rubber dries out and cracks. They are few and far between

China makes copies of GP5, the + is that you get a new brand one, with RD40 thread ... Looks as the original range of sizes is available now as well.

Yes they are also good, only issue with Israeli masks as they have been around for about 40 odd years, you're not guaranteed to get a new one.

Technically it's closest to the SF10, the Special Forces S10 variant the SAS used, it's basically an S10 where you could swap the filters over like the FM12 allows you to.
