I’ve been doing a lot of test these last 2 years and it turns out I have psychosis, sleep apnea and ADHD. Functioning throughout the day was brutal. I had issues staying up and focusing. This week im trying armodafinil and I am able to function throughout the day. I don’t knock out after eating and I’m not super sure how much it helps on focus but I am getting tasks done. Only side effect so far on day 3 of taking it is an irritating headache comes around the 8th hour til like the 14th hour.

Everyone says modafinil is less addictive than adderall because it doesn't act on dopamine as much, but although that may be true, man it still does something to dopamine I think because although I know I don't need it I still crave it sometimes for that perceived fuzzy feeling it puts into my body. So basically, I'm calling bs on their attempts to make it out like this drug is not addictive. It may vary more person-to-person than adderall/ritalin but it still is a 'craveable' drug.

  • @Dedicated_.1

@@hortlockthelivingdead4676 worked it out actually. There’s 3 things to consider 1) the neuron (where neurotransmitters like dopamine are made/synthesised) 2) the receptor (where neurotransmitters bind to and cause X effect or Y effect) 3) the synapse (the space between the 2 previous, which the neurotransmitters travel across) Modafinil leaving less dopamine in the synapse basically means that more dopamine is “dissolved” (wrong word, but easy way to think about it) in the synapse by modafinil than for adderall. So basically adderall leaves more dopamine to bind to receptors than modafinil does. Whether that’s good or bad or not depends on you but hope that explains it well.

Be very careful that will ruin your life. I would suggest 30mins cardio 4-5 days a week instead, morning is best if possible. Take magnesium chelated at night with dhea (likely low levels if having trouble sleeping) and melatonin. Take ashwaganda if you feel very stressed/anxious so it can reduce cortisol levels.

Adderall actually helped me a lot when I took it. I have narcolepsy so it helped me stay awake during class and my mood was so much better on it. I would crash around the afternoon of course after eating I couldn’t help but fall asleep. The withdrawal from adderall are absolutely fucking horrible. I couldn’t do shit without it and just wanted to lay in my bed and sleep, the sleep was horrendous as well. It’s like putting a dead battery phone on a charger that doesn’t work. Took me about 2-3 months to be fully functional off adderall I’d still get sleepy of course but I wasn’t feeling like a drugged zombie. My doctor switched me to modafinil now. Do I love it ? Ummm no… does it work? Ummm sure ? Lately I’ve been stressed the fuck out and I’m pretty sure since I have the same dosage since I started this which was like 2 years ago that i need to update my dosage, even though I don’t want to . I’m staring to take heath seriously and I’m praying that natural remedies will fix my issue. I don’t like depending on drugs just to function like a normal human being but sadly my life will forever be like this… allegedly if only Dr Sebi was still alive, the pharmacy industry thrives off fuckers like me sadly 😞

I didn’t pay much attention until it finally started to make my chest hurt and simultaneously make my head hurt and feel way overstimulated. I quit taking it after that. And now I’ve got a mild anhedonia, and feels like there’s not nearly enough dopamine in my brain for proper function. Armodafinil has diminishing returns. The longer you take it the less effective it is. I usually go 2 weeks on 1 week off and not on weekends unless I absolutely need it. Also while not as strong as its competitors you can certainly feel a minor dependency for it after awhile hence another reason to do 2 weeks on 1 off

It’s not, and Huberman is missing the main effect of modafinil. The dopamine reuptake inhibition is only a side effect of its main mechanism of action, which is the increase in histamine and orexin in the brain. The dri effects are weak, and after the first few doses, you won’t even notice them

@@weirdflex8158 Don’t you understand how dopamine works? ADHD people already have lower levels of dopamine. Taking drugs such as Adderall causes huge spikes followed by a plummet when it wears off. The user ends up feeling worse than before they took the drug due to dopamine levels dropping even further below their natural baseline. This is what leads to dependency and to the user needing higher doses of the drug to recreate the same effect aka “tolerance”. This is literally how all addictive drugs work, but the stronger the substance the worse the effect is on dopamine. 1 in 10 people have adhd nowadays. That’s a lot of people. Unless your ADHD is severe and crippling, you don’t need to be doped out of your mind on the strongest meds you can get your hands on just to function in life. Seek alternative treatments and learn to manage it effectively. People really love any excuse to get high….

@SuperWishaniggawoods I'm mildly narcoleptic. Mostly sleep paralysis, dozing off, and no cataplexy symptoms. I was on that crap for a few months. It's trash. I suggest just dealing with it, but like I said, my symptoms are mild.

So what's better modafonil or adderall?

  • @marksmanmerc1

Adderall but it's unhealthy. Modafinil gives a pretty mild focus boost but amphetamines are just on another level. Phenylpiracetam was the best non amphetamine to me but it's hard to find these days and most might find it to be too subtle for the cost.
