    To improve your focus when taking Modafinil, take it with ascorbic acid (vitamin C). Absorbic acid is easily absorbed into the body and binds with Modafinil. This allows the body to absorb more Modafinil without increasing the intensity.

    It’s amazing what you can achieve on it, but my biggest issue is obviously increasing tolerance to it and therefore needing more of it. It makes me feel more confident in my work and outputs, which is amazing, but the biggest drawback is that it dehydrated the hell out me... i felt the need to drink water and smoke a tonne. I kept on going for a wee. I was a bit all over the place, but overall I’d say it’s worth it

    I don't think Modafinil makes you "hate people", however, as a byproduct of the enhanced attention to detail, you come to notice things more and perhaps make certain things bigger than they are. For example, when collaborating with others at work, you tend to notice errors, you tend to be more aware of that coworker who is always doing a half-ass job, you become more critical with mediocrity, etc. In my case, it makes me have no filter when it comes to calling people on their shit.

    I've been using modafinil for 3 years on and off .the big disadvantage for me is that if i dont take it by 6am , i will not sleep . There worst part for me is that sleep quality is terrible , sometimes it feels like body is sleeping but my mind is just awake or if i do sleep , my body is not rested at all. One thing that really scares me is that it really really gives me weird heart beat rates , either it too low or either too high when doing nothing .My favourite thing about it is that it makes me feel "happy" and i feel fearless like not anxious or any nervousness which i love ( which i know its supposed to be an antidepresssant aswell ) .

    I am battling hormonal changes at 44, I have narcolepsy and am fatigued constantly. I have a non speaking autistic 14 year old that never sleeps and a household to take care of. I was hoping modafinil and/or armodafinil would finally be a fix for me. But after experimenting with both for the past few weeks, I'm feeling quite strange. I'm very self aware, so when something changes in me physically, mentally, or spiritually, I take notice. I almost can't explain what I've been experiencing. Not agitation exactly. But almost a disassociation. Some intrusive thoughts. Being productive, yet feeling a little depressed. I'm a Jesus person all the way, but it seemed to make me not care about my spiritual needs at all. It's been a strange experience. I also constantly felt like I was on the verge of a full calf cramp. It would feel like it was gonna ball up all the time. No matter how much sea salt, water, and gatorade i drank. The only thing that's ever really worked for me is a stack of ephedrine with a Tweaker energy shit, which is basically all nootropics - (caffeine, B12, panax ginseng, evodamine, tyrosine, yerba mate, green tea extract, yohimbe bark, tryptophan) But I was hoping to find an alternative in modafinil because I don't want to stress my heart out with those things. Narcolepsy and fatigue makes you desperate for a solution though. Honestly, I wish the coca plant was legal here because those are the alkaloids that work best for me. That plant contains so many beneficial things, but pharmaceutical companies want to make all the cains from it and so do drug dealers. So we can't access it in its natural state. I guess I'm back to ephedrine and tweakers.

  • @GlorifiedGremlin

    @GlorifiedGremlin

    If ephedrine works well, yet modafinil causes issues, it sounds like your brain dislikes the dopamine reuptake inhibition. You may have no need for the extra dopamine. Ephedrine acts like norepinephrine in the body. My advice would be to look into ways to increase other neurotransmitters like norepinephrine rather than dopamine

    I always experiment with a new drug in terms of dosage and effect. With Modafinil, I noticed that if I take it with a meal, I cannot feel any kind of drug "rush" at all. But I noticed that if I take it in the morning on an empty stomach, I can actually feel the effects much more dramatically, all day long. Also, try taking just a half dose to start, then a full tab, everyone is different (I use the 200mg size). This is just my experience.

    Sounds like an Adderall alternative. Although I'm not jittery with my prescribed medication for adhd, I'm more mellowed out and focused on necessary tasks. When I forget to take my meds my family notices that I'm spaced out and running all over doing a lot of nothing. If it's increasing dopamine in people who do not necessarily need a dopamine boost that is a big concern for dependency. This could be something that is a big problem for those using it without a Dr.

I would say personally for me the only real side effect was ‘god complex’ of sorts and being very level headed/ rational which often lead to a disregard of other peoples emotions.

    Been on Modafinil for almost 20 years now. Ya it does cause tunnel vision like an SOB. Sometimes I get a little too focused that I zone out. It's not that you hate people, they just can annoy the heck out of you extremely easy. Even just the way people eat, a small noise, someone scratching themselves, etc. And sometimes it seems that everyone around me is moving really, really slowly, even though I am moving at the same speed as them. Or it seems like a lot of people are not paying attention nor alert to their surroundings. It's a drug that will poorly affect your sleep quality. I take it due to having narcolepsy. But narcoleptics cannot remain asleep anymore than they can remain awake. I take sleep meds sometimes at night once in a while. The combination with the use of the sleep meds and Modafinil has yielded amazing results. And no, do not take Modafinil unless prescribed to you by a health professional.

Coz, the way u describe it ; ''Laser focus, like having no thoughts at all, a calm focus'' sounds just like nicotine to me ... Also, even on my own , when im 100% sober ... I normally have flat affect or numbed emotions and dont like to talk to people and instead is just focused on doing a repititive task ... So , the question on my mind is ... how is how would Armodafinil affect me ? If normally, I can already do repititive tasks and have normal focus and attention ? Would it amplify or do the opposite ?

    Sooo not good for libido I take it... I could really use some answers if anyone takes the time to read my long ass vent :( I have always struggled with fatigue and getting up in the morning, like since I was in elementary school. That's why I work night shift. But it's such a struggle to do things before work, like I WANT to go to the gym and work out but I can just never make it there. I've had difficulty staying on tasks and "things at hand" as you put it, even things I'm passionate about, like painting. I really want to go back to school but I always start the year off positive and then it fizzles out. So I'm hesitant on getting back into school until I can find the right treatment for me. I have anxiety too. I've talked about all of this with my doctor and a therapist. My doctor put me on an SSRI, which has helped calm my anxiety and overall mood but it doesn't do much if anything for my energy levels and ability to focus. I tried to explain this to my doctor and I don't know if she took me too seriously but we did do a blood test to see if there's any reason why I get drained so easily. Everything was normal. So I take adderall unprescribed pretty frequently, like once or twice a week so I can make the most out of my days off. It really has helped me in ways tremendously, but I don't want to be dependent on someone else's prescription. I don't think it's taking adderall with out having ADHD that's toxic for me personally, it's not having consistency with it. So it actually ends up just screwing up my sleep schedule more after I crash and then don't have any for a few days. -BTW I am well aware that taking someone else's prescription is frowned upon, and the pros and cons of taking adderall so if you're thinking about lecturing me that is the last thing I need please. I recently got tested for ADHD, didn't mention that I take adderall and was sort of hoping for my OWN prescription... because first of all I am really trying to pin point some sort of diagnosis so I can help myself. Sure I've felt the high on adderall and I do love the feeling if I'm being honest but that's actually not necessarily what I'm after. I want a life man. There's not enough hours in the day. I'm sick of setting alarms so I can actually do things for myself outside of work and failing everyday. The average person, they say, requires 8-10 hours of sleep, but I need like 14... Anyways, turns out I don't have ADHD so there's that. No prescription for me. So I'm here looking into alternatives. About the libido thing, I have zero. Both my birth control and my SSRI I believe are causing that. I've been with my boyfriend for a few years now. He is my best friend, my other half, the love of my life. He is alwaysss in the mood and I'm just not. It's weird since when I am able to finally let him in, and let him do things to me which he so kindly insists on, it is the best. But for some reason I just never seem to want it. Most of the time I'm sassy about it and he laughs with me. We rarely have a real argument and when we do we wind up laughing at how stupid we are. But this is the one major issue we have and I'm concerned about it. Sometimes it will get to us and it's frustrating for the both of us. It has nothing to do with my attraction to him at all, that's the thing and why it's frustrating. I want to have the drive, I want to satisfy him, I want to be satisfied, but it's like I'm just not on. SO, with all that said, apologies that was a little TMI, I read into Wellbutrin and that has been prescribed alongside an SSRI to balance out the downside effects, like completely depleting sex drive into oblivion. It also supposedly helps boost energy levels and focus. Instead of working with the seratonin, it works with dopamine and norepinephrine. I'm just so confused reading how people have responded to it. Everyone responds differently. In some reviews it sounds a lot like a stimulant. In others it seems like just another antidepressant that takes forever to feel the effects and is supposed to "just make you feel normal," though that's weird right because I'm trying to fix how I am normally xD. One more thing I'd like to note is that I was born with an innocent heart murmur. Supposedly should never cause any problems for me, but I worry about it, especially when it comes to taking drugs, which I obviously have experimented with. LOL. WOW SO MUCH TALK. CAN SOMEONE PLEASE HELP ME. ANYONE RELATE?? Lmfaooooo.

    Moda is certainly a stimulant for me, have been taking it for a few years now mostly just 100mgs a day when I wake up but I also give myself days off it. As for the libido thing my money would be on the SSRIs... birth control can also add to it but I'd be looking at the SSRIs as low libido is a known side effect. Good luck!

    I can identify with this greatly. Libido issues, chronic fatigue, high-functioning anxiety…Have used addy when I can get it to feel normal for awhile. The first time I took it, I felt truly awake for the first time in about ten years. Unfortunately the positives wear off eventually. would recommend going to a vape shop and getting a delta-8/ THC-O vape pen. When I smoke, I have a normal libido and can relax and enjoy intimacy. I can literally feel my body relax compared to always being extremely tense (even though I have no reason to be) . If I haven’t smoked though, I feel very claustrophobic and overwhelmed by having somebody’s face close to mine. The ability to fall asleep after smoking has also been a game changer.

    yes, I have been taking it for about 6 months and the hardest part is the hangover, so to get out of the hangover I need to take another one.

    didn't you sense any decrease in your memory? I have been taking modafinil for 4 years and it is my second year without it. I sense a great drop in my working memory and long term memory. Can you relate?
