No other sport allows its officials to start an argument and then eject the person he started the argument with. Baseball has an umpire issue that they created themselves.

It's easy to say that from the cheap seats. How about you put on a mask and a chest protector and go out there on the field and start calling games. There's a whole lot more to it than what you see on TV bud. Start by reading a rule book. And then read it again, and again, and again. Cuz that's what it takes. And make sure you attend mechanics clinics to help you understand the basics of positioning. And then actually go out onto a field in a 12u Recreation game. See those pitches, a lot of pitches! Work some travel ball and high school. Maybe if you're good enough try some college. Work hundreds of games each year, increasing your game management skills along the way. Learn how to work with difficult coaches and players. Hopefully, if you're good enough, you might be able to get a look at possibly being considered to be given a chance at even sniffing professional ball. If somehow you make it then congratulations would be in order. Your prize would be being granted the joy of working with crybaby pitchers like AJ Burnett. Oh and also the knowledge that every baseball fan on this planet thinks you're a piece of s*** So what do you say, you want to give it a shot? I'll even donate some uniform pieces and some equipment to help you get started.

I had something like this happen to me before in a men's league. Ump called 2 strikes off the plate, the 2nd one being strike 3 that was more than 6 inches outside. I said something about it in a non-confrontational way as I turned to go back to the dugout and next thing I know he was right behind me screaming at me. Told him I already said my peace and kept screaming at me when I was already in the dugout sitting down. Unfortunately some umps and people and general are just obsessed with power and often abuse it when there are no consequences.

They've done it in Pro Tennis, it is time to let technology call balls and strikes behind the plate and take the human error out of it. But I know it will probably never happen. Just about all sports (including baseball) have now adopted instant replay, and most people feel it has improved the sports.
