Games where the winner doesn't wind up playing for the Championship are frequently forgotten, that's probably why, "Ghost, To, The, Post," has slipped through the cracks.

After games 7 and 5 of the 16 World Series, this is the most stressful Cubs game I've ever watched. Total emotional roller coaster

Joe Maddon will always be in my HOF for preventing the 2008 Red Sox from repeating, though, Tampa Bay, better send, Christmas Cards, to Josh Beckett forever for quitting in, Game Two, a third Championship likely puts him in the HOF, despite, being completely unworthy, plus, totally insufferable, the Phillies better send, Christmas Cards, too, period.

Before this game happened, I knew the Nats would lose Game 5 at home, I knew it would be by 1 run, and I knew it would be in the most painful way imaginable, but even I couldn’t imagine how painful this game would end up being.

Dusty Baker should have been a dead giveaway, that guy thought he was so smart, and, even, though, this loss wasn't as bad as many of the others, there wasn't anybody that was surprised at the way it turned out.

Dusty Baker can now join, Alvin Dark, and/or, Bob Lemon, as a manager who only won a World Series with a stacked team that had won before, Bruce Bochy proved what happens when you try to win through intelligence rather than, "flash."

Nationals were the goddamn kings of choking in the playoffs. So glad they finally beat the brewers to seemingly break that curse.

this might have been on the same level of heartbreak as the 2012 NLDS. partly because i was older and more fully attached to the game at the time. but also how is a catcher gonna get picked off first base, sliding FEET FIRST, when there is a runner ahead of him? that is a CATASTROPHIC blunder by Lobaton, and it doesn't get talked about nearly enough.

Speaking of which, the fact that they won the Championship seven years later, doesn't vindicate their, indefensible, decision to shut down Stephen Strasburg, based on a completely unscientific study, at all, in the other NLDS, Bruce Bochy was already showing the world how to manage in the Playoffs, while Dusty Baker was doing the exact opposite, fortunately, that would never happen again between them, oh, wait.

@@matthewdaley746 i think too much blame gets placed at Dusty Baker's feet. i agree that sometimes he was a little *too* lax, but at the same time that's why players loved him. other than falling asleep at the wheel as Mark Prior fell apart in '03 i can't think of another single terrible managerial decision on his part. i think his teams just underperformed

@jamescarlisle4023 Fair enough, however, when you fall at, The, Final Hurdle, as often, and/or, in as many different ways, simply through your own terrible decisions, and/or, indecisions, it's far less, "bad luck," and, far more, "bad coaching," oh, and, if he hadn't handed the Angels, A Championship On A Silver Platter, they've likely moved, just look at their entire history, apart, from 2002, and, it's disappointment at best, disaster at worst.

@jamescarlisle4023 Thank You, not, to mention, that they would lose to a team that made their own, indefensible, decision by letting go of Albert Pujols, they're very likely a, Dynasty, if they'd kept him, the Giants were what the Cardinals should have been.

Fr and what happened when told your friends or classmates when the Cubs won This was In 2017 and I was In the 3rd grade lol I hadn't even watch MLB until the 2021 MLB playoffs and my predictions were crazy but when I watched EXE 2016 playoffs I was shocked but when I watched this ( EXE 2017 playoffs) I was like "the Cubs are definitely gonna win" and they did also because they won the 16 World Series that was why I also said the Cubs were gonna win lol

@BloodySox_18 That was just the latest case of the, Indians/Guardians, outlosing an opponent, of all their, near-misses, the saddest was, unquestionably, 2000, the Yankees didn't bother making any major trades because they'd acquired Chuck Finley, unfortunately, the infamous, White Flag Trade, of 1997, resulted in the White Sox winning the Division, predictably, they were swept by the Mariners, missing the Playoffs was the only thing preventing a Championship, Manny Ramirez walked, and, despite, returning to the Playoffs in 2001, their moment had passed.

I would have thought that after finally winning the Championship, the Playoffs were never stressful again, it's really too bad that, neither, Chicago team ever won another Championship, because their fans were so ready for heartbreak that they just couldn't enjoy the ride, the Red Sox fans got, stress-free, Championships, unfortunately, they turned them completely insufferable.
