Not exactly. Heyward is anything but an easy out. Maybe last year he had his struggles, but he has done pretty good this year. Especially with a 2-0 count. Baez was defiantly the way to go and really they got Baez so it's hard to blame that on walking Heyward.

Even though the Indians World Series was the greatest moment ever for me as a Cubs fan, this series was probably the most brutal to watch overall. This Game 5 was absolutely the most intense game I've seen as an overall postseason Cub game. Only the intensity of the end of Game 7 in the WS was worse to watch as a fan (because until the 8th inning, it wasn't that bad). This 5th inning was wild and all against Scherzer with two outs!

13:39 A lot of Nats fans are saying that because the batter his the catcher's helmet with his bat, it should be out. NOTS not the rule. As you can see, the ball passed the catcher BEFORE the bat his his helmet and the catcher ALSO NEVER HAD CONTROL of the ball! The rule says that's a passed ball! Read the rules people. That play was legitimate and correct. I hate the Cubs as a Cardinals fan, but that was the right call! Nats just played sloppy and you gotta give the Cubs credit, after all, they are the defending Champs for a reason.

If you watch the Baez at bat, the ball was well beyond the catcher before there was contact. Baez would still make it to first base and the run would have scored.

You know its valid nutritional fact that has been studied, that watermelon contains more potassium than bananas. So if you're looking for a food to help lessen the onset of muscle cramping and allow for better recovery and performance, then you should consume more watermelon prior to and post workout.

13:17 "I think W... is asking the umpires..." about a foul tip? No, he was telling the umpires that Baez's bat hit his mask on the follow-through swing. Why are the announcers always the last ones to know what's going on?

To the people trashing scherzer...and keeping in mind I’m a cubs fan...Cubs had the magic with them during this run. That doesn’t negate the fact that Scherzer is one of the best in the game right now. I was over the moon when this happened, specifically BECAUSE it was against a dude as good as him. Respect the dude. It’s not his fault the Nats are trash XD

And this is why, say what you want about Dusty, you can't really blame this game on him. Scherzer retired the first 2 guys, and was a strike away from a 1-2-3 inning. And Max is their best pitcher, and you'd want him out there. And then an infield single, a bloop single, and a double put the Nats behind again. And a strikeout that is passed ball on Wieters, and then a throwing error leads to another run. Controversial because Baez's bat did hit Wieters in the head. And then catcher's interference on Wieters, and then a HBP scoring another run. Can't really blame Dusty for that. But the Nats did, and now they're almost to the point of possibly rebuilding now, as they are nowhere close to making the playoffs.

Ron Darling just did not seem to know what was going on at some key moments in this game. Clearly he should have seen that Wieters was claiming he was hit by the backswing right away and/or caught it on the replay. An when he finally realizes what's happening he says Wieters is claiming that getting hit by the bat means it should have been a dead ball and says: "I've never heard of that". Then he goes back to talking about foul tips again - it was never about that! Incredible that someone who pitched for as long as he did (and has now been announcer for years) doesn't know that rule.

This has to be the only half-inning in MLB history that featured an intentional walk, HBP, dropped 3rd strike, and catcher’s interference. And if not, it has to be the only one where all of these things happened with 2 outs.

You think the announcers would finally get this right. It's amazing how many were former players, pitchers and catchers mind you, that do not know the difference between a foul tip and a foul ball. Below is the rule:In baseball, a foul tip is defined as "a batted ball that goes sharp directly from the bat to the catcher’s hands and is legally caught. A foul tip is considered a strike and the ball remains "in play." Just because the batter only gets a piece of the ball does not make it a foul tip. If the ball is not caught, it is a foul ball, the ball is dead, and the runners cannot advance. "Foul tip hung on by the catcher." That is the only time that it is a foul tip otherwise it is a foul ball.Get it right Ron Darling, Tim McCarver, Joe Gariagiolo and the rest of you. You're getting paid enough for something that occurs in practically every game.

This was a great game, everyone still in the playoffs by this game win! -Nats "win" by finally getting rid of Dusty (he can get clubs to the playoffs but cannot win them just ask, ironically, the cubs) and can finally start looking for a manager who can help them win it all. -Cubs win by finally showing everyone how unfortunate it is to have Dusty as a manager and get to advance -Dodgers win because they face an exhausted Cubs club and win easily -Astros win because they destroy the overconfident Dodgers to win it all.
