MLB Draft Day & I'm WORRIED About This Star... | MLB The Show 24 Franchise - Ep.30

Ойындар

Today we begin the MLB The Show 24 Franchise with the St. Louis Cardinals. The Cards are far from being one of the weakest teams in baseball, but they do have one of the most uncertain future. This is an experienced team and one of the oldest in the MLB. Every starting pitcher is at least 32 years old. The best two position players have over 10 years experience. The Cardinals will have to rebuild this organization regardless of their success in the near future. I'm excited to work on restoring this franchise to a championship standard that they have not seen in the last decade.
On my MrHurriicaneLP channel I make sports gaming lets play series. My series focus on building teams and players from sports like baseball and football. I play games such as Madden 24, NCAA Football 14, MLB The Show 24 and more.

I understand wanting to stick with prospects within the org to fix things but I think you need to acquire a high quality closer. You have plenty of pitching prospects, they aren't all gonna be able to make the mob rotation anyway. Having a lock down closer is more important than you'd think

married to the prospects isnt the way to go when the team is competing. package edman and prospects for a superstar and bullpen help

Edman should probably go. He is not hitting well, so Winn is a better option, and you could get a decent return in a trade. Bullpen help or prospects, whatever you can drum up. The bullpen is a disaster area this year, so some help is really needed. Also, a SP prospect for a fielding prospect would note be out of line. You are a little bit short at 2B,,SS and 3B organizationally.

Sometimes you've gotta call a spade a spade, Helsley is cooked and you should look to trade him ASAP. Maybe workshop something with the Marlins since they wanted him

I'd consider switching Bender into MR1/2 from LR2 to get him some more regular and relevant innings. If there's a trade for another pen arm I see Edman being the one to offer, with Loperfido coming back since it seems his AAA sojourn will be short anyway. Poor Josh Baez has played his heart out all series and keeps getting passed over. He's north of .300 again! Loving the series as always Cane!

Ryan helsley will have value to another team much more than he will to this one, he is an older reliever who has high potential a high overall but is having a bad season. There's a team out there that will bet on his future, hoping that he isn't truly regressing and be willing to pay him, this is not that team. I know you love the prospects, but you have to get at least a closer if not two more relievers. Using your Elite starting pitcher prospects as Bullpen Band-Aids is not the way to go.

Jordan Walker 77 speed 99 arm… sounds like a right fielder to me especially with Moreno slowly coming up the ranks to add a little more pop to the big league roster

Kloffenstein is already 25 and only a 60 I wouldn't put a lot of future faith in him, I'd honestly look to move Edman for a new closer (might browse for some 26-32 year old setup guys who have good clutch) and then flip Helsley for a prospect or two.

when you do player lock with position players, i think it’d be fun to do a 3 game series with them. gives us a nice look at their abilities, and takes around the same amount of time as a player lock for a pitcher

95 efficiency scouts will provide 50% scouting per week for High School prospects. 90-94 efficiency gives 45%. There’s no way to scout high school prospects in less than 2 weeks. The absolute most you could get is 80% by setting 2 scouts to that position in that region and the last scout specifically on that player. That would still only get the player to 85% in one week.

I guess the question with Helsley is do we believe there could be some regression to the mean wrt his HR/9 numbers? I feel like we’re watching the other end of the extreme here. Less than 1 HR/9 doesn’t look to have been sustainable, but that also makes me skeptical that he sustains this 1.48 pace as well.

i would recommend using a week or two having all 3 of your scouts scout a region or two of relievers, especially if you just want 50% scouting on a lot of guys, youll end up with a handful of relievers to choose from in the later rounds

If you're looking to move Wynn into the starting SS role I'd look at packing Edman with something Kopech and a mid tier prospect for a good reliver and utility player. Guardians might be a good match if they still have Arais and Karinchak. Figure Arais, if he has the position flex that he should of corner OF, 1B, 3B and SS, it would help mitigate any growing pains or failure with Wynn.
