I Made a MASSIVE Trade! | MLB The Show 24 Franchise (Year 3) - Ep.31

Ойындар

Today we begin the MLB The Show 24 Franchise with the St. Louis Cardinals. The Cards are far from being one of the weakest teams in baseball, but they do have one of the most uncertain future. This is an experienced team and one of the oldest in the MLB. Every starting pitcher is at least 32 years old. The best two position players have over 10 years experience. The Cardinals will have to rebuild this organization regardless of their success in the near future. I'm excited to work on restoring this franchise to a championship standard that they have not seen in the last decade.
On my MrHurriicaneLP channel I make sports gaming lets play series. My series focus on building teams and players from sports like baseball and football. I play games such as Madden 24, NCAA Football 14, MLB The Show 24 and more.

    Fernandez’ high starting point for vision, discipline and clutch would make him someone I’d strongly focus on developing. He should definitely be starting as the DH at AA. He could develop a really nice bat if he can somehow get his power ratings to 50ish. It’s underwhelming but you could maybe even pigeonhole him as a DH and force all development on his bat rather than defensively.

    Love the trade acquisitions and I am very excited for how the direction of the series will go. I will say, to be fair to the cpu, I would make sure that the White Sox's Ace prospect gets a fourth pitch, he throws just three pitches as a high potential Prospect, and two of them are fastballs. Definitely make sure that he gets in the " pitching lab" this offseason!

    Fernandez is one of those players in franchise that has the potential to compete for a batting title in the future. High contact, vision, discipline and clutch usually end up with higher average/OBP type players in franchise. If you were to try and focus all his development on his hitting with his 93 potential you may even be able to get his power into the 50s while having 80-90s contact as well.

    I started a White Sox franchise a week or two ago and Luis Robert seemed fine (to me, who has very little baseball knowledge) in year 1. Then he had below a .240 average with 30+ home runs in year 2, and I think is currently below .200 in the first 10 games of year 3. Seeing you trade for him gives me a little pause, but hopefully he plays better for you.

    According to ChatGPT this would only be the 2nd instance of 3 CG shutouts on a 3 game series: As of my last update, there is only one instance in Major League Baseball history where a three-game series featured three complete game shutout pitching performances. This rare occurrence took place from May 28 to May 30, 1913, when the Cincinnati Reds were shut out by the Philadelphia Phillies in three consecutive games. The Phillies' pitchers were Tom Seaton, George Chalmers, and Ad Brennan, who each threw complete game shutouts against the Reds.

  • @スターライト美奈子

    @スターライト美奈子

    27 күн бұрын

    I would definitely caution against using AI tools as your only source for historic information. From my research, ChatGPT gave you very inaccurate information. The Phillies did not have 3 consecutive complete game shutouts of the Reds on the dates ChatGPT gave you, they didn't even face the Reds on those dates. They did face the Reds on May 20 to May 23rd, 1913 (with an off day on the 22nd), and they did win all 3 games but only one of those game was a complete game shutout thrown by Tom Seaton. During the dates ChatGPT provided, the Phillies were in the process of being swept by the New York Giants in a 4 game series. (series went from May 29th to May 31st, 1913, including a double header on the 30th) There were at least three instances I could find where a series had three consecutive complete game shutouts, the Minnesota Twins did this in 2004 from July 5 through July 7th, games 81, 82, 83 of the season, where they swept the Kansas City Royals by complete game shutout 3 games in a row. In the first game Brad Radke threw 102 pitches in 9 innings, throwing 4 strikeouts, allowing 4 hits, no walks, no runs, game two saw Johan Santana throw 114 pitches in 9 innings, with 13 strikeouts, allowing 3 hits, 2 walks, no runs, and finally game three Kyle Lohse threw 118 pitches in 9 innings, throwing 7 strikeouts, allowing 6 hits, no walks, no runs. A news article I found about the Twins consecutive complete game shutouts on The Herald-Times titled "Twins pitchers throw a triplet of shutouts" published on July 8th, 2004, mentions the Baltimore Orioles also had 3 consecutive complete game shutouts in 1995, that instance was not a 3 game series but across two different series, but searching for information on that led me to an article titled "September 7th, 1974: Orioles pitchers set AL scoreless innings record in Cleveland" about the 1974 Orioles, who also had 3 consecutive complete game shutouts in a series against the Boston Red Sox, the series included a Labor Day double header on September 2nd, and after an off day they completed the sweep on September 4th. The pitchers were Ross Grimsley, Mike Cuellar, and Jim Palmer. The Orioles actually continued with two more complete game shutouts by Dave McNally and Mike Cuellar for a total of 46 consecutive scoreless innings. That article mentioned that the five consecutive complete game shutouts is an AL record and is one short of the post-1900 NL record of six, by the Pittsburgh Pirates in 1903. I found on Baseball Reference that the Pirates record consecutive shutouts included a 3 game series from June 4 though June 6th, 1903 against the Boston Nationals, the pitchers who threw complete game shutouts in that series were Irvin Wilhelm, Ed Doheny, and Deacon Phillippe.

    The lane Thomas trade is the absolute worst i think you’ve ever made on mlb, no way you don’t get some type of prospect back

    @@kwezcoma lol he fleeced the A’s. No way he wouldn’t have to give up more and pay Thomas’s salary irl

    Roby was a bad move in that trade. I would have rather seen an aging pitcher like Sonny Grey. Roberts will decline fast and hard in all the sim leagues I have done.

    Helsley is done, Hunter has been bad too. I would move on from both of them
