The BIGGEST Games of the Year (Playoff Hunt) | MLB The Show 24 Franchise (Year 3) - Ep.34

Ойындар

Today we begin the MLB The Show 24 Franchise with the St. Louis Cardinals. The Cards are far from being one of the weakest teams in baseball, but they do have one of the most uncertain future. This is an experienced team and one of the oldest in the MLB. Every starting pitcher is at least 32 years old. The best two position players have over 10 years experience. The Cardinals will have to rebuild this organization regardless of their success in the near future. I'm excited to work on restoring this franchise to a championship standard that they have not seen in the last decade.
On my MrHurriicaneLP channel I make sports gaming lets play series. My series focus on building teams and players from sports like baseball and football. I play games such as Madden 24, NCAA Football 14, MLB The Show 24 and more.

Copying my comment from last video in regards to Marino being called up to the majors next year (with a few edits): Next year, Marino will be 19yrs old. The last position player to be called up at 19yrs was Junior Caminero in 2023. In AA that season, he hit .309/.373./548 in 81 games. Before him, the last player to make the majors at 19 was Juan Soto in 2018. Over 39 games split between high-A, low-A and AA, Soto slashed .362/.462/.757. It is EXTREMELY rare for a 19 yr old to play in the MLB Currently at 18, Marino is slashing .235/.299/.343 in AA in 77 games. While Marino has incredible upside, the majors should not even be an option next season unless he dramatically improves his hitting in AA. What makes you think he can hit MLB pitching if he can barely hit 60-70 overalls? Even if there was an injury he has to prove himself before the majors even crosses anyone’s mind for him. Just my two cents.

Where I'm caught is just if he keeps developing ratings more at the minors. He hasn't played well enough for a promotion, but I want him to be getting better regardless of where he is. I'll probably try him at AAA and go from there.

Chicagoan here, more of a Cubs fan but have always never had an issue with the Sox. Robert said in his introductory presser way back when that that people can call him Rob-Bert. Obviously not enunciating a double B but it's what he's stated he prefers. Will say he's a fun dude to watch. He tattooed a homer in a game I was at at Wrigley last year. Sat in the bleachers and even that far away the sound was LOUD. Ironically, the game was started for the White Sox by a guy you're familiar with from your Rockies franchise. Touki Toussant of all people started that game. August 15th of 2023. Sadly, the next game was a walkoff. And that's something I need to see in person in my lifetime.

I do have a slight suspicion that the stamina rating being in the low 60s might be why guys who converted from reliever to starter this year (IRL) such as Crochet and Reynaldo are mediocre. They're also poor BB/9 guys which tend to do poorly, but Reynaldo's simulated walk numbers seemed to be alright last episode. Sim pitcher stamina is a mess that I usually think doesn't really matter (aside from making long relievers throw far too much, though I've still seen typical 20-something stamina relievers sim deep in the role, so maybe that's just an issue with the rotation setup? Semi related, maybe having Harvey there has led to part of his issues) but Reynaldo's results in particular leave me a bit curious.

SDS has really dropped the ball this year with the roster. The graphics are still years behind Madden and CFB 25, and the customization ability of the rosters is SO lacking compared to all other sports games. With how many pitchers are throwing 100+ now, it’s ridiculous that 99 is the best you can get. They literally made Paul Skenes with a 97 fastball when he throws a 102 unhittable screwball thingy (that is NOT a normal fastball). I understand they maybe can’t make the pitches all move as much as they do IRL, but they need to adjust what the break rating does. 50 should be average, with 99 being insane movement like Skenes. Rn the difference is hardly noticeable for fastballs. Some players have “quirks” that let them throw 101-102 like deGrom, but you can’t edit any other players to have it. It’s just dumb. Do better SDS
