Stars Try to End our Slump (Playoff Push) - MLB The Show 24 Franchise (Year 2) Ep.18

Ойындар

Today we begin the MLB The Show 24 Franchise with the St. Louis Cardinals. The Cards are far from being one of the weakest teams in baseball, but they do have one of the most uncertain future. This is an experienced team and one of the oldest in the MLB. Every starting pitcher is at least 32 years old. The best two position players have over 10 years experience. The Cardinals will have to rebuild this organization regardless of their success in the near future. I'm excited to work on restoring this franchise to a championship standard that they have not seen in the last decade.

Some feedback about walker defensively. The reaction time is what hurts him the most at first base. He does have a plus arm so you could play him in right or left field and his low defense won’t hurt you as bad and his arm may even help. And if he’s catching a lot of pop flies and such, those count as putouts which boost defensive ratings quicker and everytime he’s guns someone at 2nd or home with the arm that’ll boost defense a hair too.

Maybe in spring training you could DH Gorman Carlson or someone else in LF, Nootbar in Center, Walker in RF, And Donovan plays 2B if improving Walkers defense becomes a goal

@@brycenhenry9905 in theory yes, but I’ve found you can really hide poor defense in the outfield especially if they have a good arm. I had a guy get +8 fielding and +5 reaction after moving him from 3rd to RF in AAA. A potential on him obviously to pull that off, and I’ve never really gotten boosts like that again but +3 to +4 a season is pretty common with that archetype of player

Some advice but you should use a 6th starting pitcher as your long relief pitcher. I tend to use this spot for rookies/younger pitchers that will eventually replace someone in the starting rotation. would be a good spot for roby to improve and see how he does in the majors. Bringing up both rookies was too much, bringing 1 up would of been fine along with a trade rental with an extra bat but too late for that now lol, hopefu Loving the series as always. GL GL

Cane - few things to keep an eye on in a franchise like this where you sim plenty. Only a few stats really matter in the sim: contact, power, and discipline for hitters, and H/9 and BB/9 for pitchers. Discipline in the sim dictates how good players are at taking, not Vision, so high OBP comes from Discipline and not Vision. Contact dictates the balls being put in play and power dictates XBH, but contact is more important in the sim. Other stats only matter in actual gameplay. For pitchers, H/9 controls how many outs you get and BB/9 controls the amount of walks you allow. K/9 dictates how many of those outs are strikeouts, and HR/9 just dictates how many of the hits you give up leave the yard. So HR/9 matters a little, K/9 basically not at all. Just stuff to keep in mind when you evaluate players and make decisions on who is ready or not. For example, Players with

@@RonnieG Vision controls the PCI and helps make contact on pitches outside of it in gameplay, so it's useful to have when you're playing the games. In sim, it just controls what % of the outs a hitter makes that are strikeouts, so it's not important. In the sim you'd rather have a guy who makes 250 outs a season but strikes out 200 times as opposed to a guy that makes 300 outs and only strikes out 100 times (assuming equal plate appearances).

I started a Cards franchise and am at about the same point in season 2 as you are...maybe a touch behind. I also traded Goldy in season 1, but to Seattle, as it made sense given where they were in the division race and were playing Ty France at 1B. I also signed Alonso in FA instead of Burnes. It's interesting how differently some players have progressed or played from 1 franchise to another (Nootbar for me is average in yr 2, Roby is only a C potential and sporting a 4.50 ERA in AAA). My Cards are 18 games over .500 and lead the division by 7 games so hopefully they don't hit the skids like yours did.

And when it continued thru past the all star break did u think it was a fluke? They have been consistently good all year. Edman and jd Davis were the only two who didn’t hit well and the second half of the year the been killing it both got the avg up to about 250 from low 200s and Carlsen stink second half but other than that everyone else was good all year. I’ll say it again if u never made those moves w bringing up th two rookie pitchers and u got a good number 3 starter a good reliever or two and a bench bat u have a World Series run without question. U may not have won but with a cple good moves u had as good a chance as any team in baseball. I hope u see what u have now and u go after it next year cus u have the same team back for the most part so u just need to get those pieces I talked about and otherwise just roll with the guys u got!
