Once you get the whole thing out, you should be able to thread it back in?

What a coincidence! I was just starting to change my master cylinder as well. Great Video! 👍 just one question, what is the sensor in your clutch mounting? Because that one is missing on mine..

Much appreciated! i believe its the neutral safety swith? i know i said brake switch in the video, but its not. I think its what has to be triggered to start the car. I.E. push in clutch for ignition

where you rented the vacuum pump?

I rented from OReilly auto parts. It's like $230 but you get it back when you return the pump

Did you change it just to change it out or was your car not going into gear? Running into an issue with mine where it just won’t go into gear. Research tells me it might be the master cylinder, but I’m not completely sure.

My master cylinder was leaking. Does your clutch pedal engage? Does the shifter actually engage into gear? If it isn't, it's also likely synchros are messed up. How does your clutch pedal feel?

@@Ma70rk My clutch petal engages, but it’s soft. The shifter is very loose and doesn’t feel like it’s catching onto anything. Checked the master cylinder and slave cylinder yesterday and both are fine.

@Alexandra Mezzacapo was the car running/ driving before? What happens when you try to put it In 1st with the engine running, any engagement? Can you get the car to move? I'd pull the shifter and take a look at your shifter bushings, tend to break on these cars.

@@Ma70rk Yep, the car was driving perfectly fine and then out of nowhere it wouldn’t shift at all. Car still runs. No engagement with the engine running. Even tried rolling it to try to get it to shift. I’ll take a look. I think that might be what it is because it feels like the shifter isn’t catching on anything.

My clutch pedal just went soft in minutes, no leaks whatsoever under the car. I’m gonna replace the master cylinder and pray that’s it.

Check in your kick panel area on the driver side floor. If you see brake fluid down there, it's probably it. Do your brakes feel OK?

I swear the cotter pin to hold the clutch pedal is a PITA and as long as the hard lines aren't seized its not too bad. If you're not gonna use a vacuum pump / have a friend to pump the clutch for you it might be better to bench bleed the new master cylinder before installing
