You are an excellent teacher. You stick to the lesson. Show it at multiple speeds and explain it as you go. I even understood how you added the Dorian because you explained it so simply and clearly. I will only need a few hours of practice to start getting this into muscle (and ear) memory. Thank you so much for your excellent tutelage.

great job! I really appreciate the effort you put into this with all the video editing and the writing the score, and breaking it down and explaining both the Frets to press and the chord steps the notes fall onto. still trying to wrap my head around how a minor scale can be played on major chords.

Thank you so much for this video. I'm a metal guitarist. I can PLAY a whole lot of stuff technically speaking, but being self-taught, finding out how to SOUND the right way for other genres of music is one thing I've come to realize I really, REALLY struggle with. This has so much information I find very valuable.

Started this year (Jan 2017) on acoustic and got an electric a couple of months ago but was stuck in a "rythm rut" cause it took me forever to figure out volume, tone and amp settings... Am now "transitioning" my playing time towards a greater balance between the two and this is exactly what the doctor ordered as I focused strictly on rythm for the first 4-5 months. Have a shitload of songs but no licks between chords. Your lesson truly gave me the road map to my focus for the remainder of the year! Thank you so much for this fantastic tutorial, brother.

Paul I love your videos man! They have brought me back to the guitar and now I'm learning and practicing more then ever! Got this down in a week. Also using the looping extension from chrome and adjusting the speed of the video makes it perfect to play along with the beginning of the video. I put the loop between 00:00 and 00:25 and that makes a perfect loop. adjusting it from 0,5 gradually to 0,7 and 0,8 and 0,9 and..1! I can finally jam along! Maybe this trick helps some other people as well!

Hey Paul, i see the quality in your playing, actually it oozes, tone, timing, pieces to learn, you are someone that inspires me, shame you don't live close to me, but then what a nightmare that would be haha. I'm 'mid-life crisis guy' taking up playing guitar, get lessons from a cool dude who is a perfectionist (like you) i like that, what has inspired me is your choice of 12 bar 'stuff' because its very easy (for me) to play the licks, (The inverted A7 is new, but love it!) I've spent all day on this and its a revelation... why? - you explain whats going on: scale, chord inversions, and each lick is easy to digest and simple over the chords. OMG I sound like I'm good!! and YOU did that so THANK YOU VERY much for that :-) Anyhow this is what I want to say to you :) do MUCH more of this on UTube for free, building a fan base, do some marketing research to see what others like you (check the USA) are doing and fill in the gaps, for me thats accenting the beat and same on 2 and 4 |(I struggle and NO ONE teaches this!!) learning how to practice, using a metronome correctly (play until IT sounds good not you), picking up your rhythm from the drums, how to start improvising, playing blues Major (dom7) over minor penta - why? what is Mixolydian in a blues context? create a course for people to go from beginner to blues improvising and sell that for a £100 - based on what I see on your channel I'd pay... why? because I know you can play and I know you can teach things in a way that I understand plus you want to do it, so you are motivated - right? Big appologies for a long comment, all this is a good thing being a mid-life crisis kinda guy - I know some stuff :) and my teacher is amazing, like you! BTW talk about your amp, settings, pedals, guitar, tone and pickups. How can I sound like you on bread and butter kit? Thanks again Paul, subscribing was VERY easy. My feedback is there to help you. Everyone wants to be cool these days without putting in the work, be honest with us! at best you will inspire a few very successful guitarist |(I hope so anyway) and at worst you will save a few (many) folks from wasting their time. LOL Now that has to be the comment of the century!!

Hey Paul, I love your Videos, they are covering exactly what i want to learn on the Guitar, and not just how you play the A-minor Pentatnoic/Blues scale. You show us how to use them! I also just learned the Johnny B Goode Riff from you. So this is pretty simple if you once got the muscle memory. Hence my Question: Did you improvised this Blues with the inspiration of Chuck Berry, if so, could you tell us how you improvise, especially how to use the special notes of the Dorian/mixolydian scales? Did you said to yourself right before the Jam:"I will use those notes over the D chord" or did you just felt like it in the heat of the moment? Im new to imporv and i would really appreciate your advice. You are one of the few guitar teachers here on youtube who know what the students what to learn and you teach it so amazing, i hope you will never stop doing lessons like this. Thanks in advanced.
