I was at Butterwoth 1962-1965 with 52 Squadron and can remember the 60 Squadron Javelins, Thanks for posting and the memories.

Hi Steve, I found the handwritten notes of this film "Mission 66" only last week in my Dad's study. My father was in 60 squadron and flew Javelins (I believe with your father?) and made this film for a competition, which they won. Great to see it on here. I wish you well. Peter Foley. (Father - Bert Foley).

The Javelin became redundant as an interceptor because it had no where near the power of the Lightning. But I wonder if the Javelin would have made a good close support/ground attack plane? Replace the AA missiles with rocket pods or bombs and don't forget it had 4-30mm cannon!

ToonandBBfan it's a good thing the Sino-Soviet Split happened. Or else, PRC might have acquire Yak-28 armed with an improved Alkali or/and later on, the Anab (being radar-guided and with range up to 23 km).
