GREAT REVIEW! Thanks! May I ask how tall you are? I am debating between Rummy and Monty. I am about 5'7" / 173cm. I will use it to carry a 14" laptop daily for work. Any suggestion? Thanks in advance.

Sorry for the late reply. Without shoes and clothes I am about 5'6". The bag is just a little big on me but still looks good. I think the rummy is perfect. It should work best for you! Let me know if you have anymore questions!

I use an old Lancer Tactical backpack for college. It's falling apart (because it's made in China) and I plan on getting the Monty. I hear these bags are durable on top of being made in the USA. Expensive as it may be, but you get what you pay for. Buy once, cry once.

Buy this second hand for around 50 - 80€ over here. They last forever, so no worries.

Great review! I have the Rummy in olive green myself, and I love it. However, I am looking into getting the tool roll, but I cant find specifics on it (mostly curious about dimensions, sizes of the respective pockets). Could you possibly make a video on it, or simply write the details in these comments when you get the chance? Thanks!

+xmarkizzygx I actually misplaced my tool roller. I believe that some 3rd party pouches on Amazon would do better than the tool roller. Sorry I can not do the review. Hope this information helps!

How has the bag held up over time? Lots of other say the waxed canvas is super soft and requires decorating. And still other say the bag kinda shrinks around main stitches if it becomes too wet? Any thoughts?

I am still using it for work. For sure takes a beating. I feeling that cordura or gortex would be more durable though. I would recommend this bag for causal use and not be extensive abuse in the elements.

No stitching shrinkage issues. I'm at a wet construction site often. Haven't had a problem.

Great review, I'm on a search for messenger bag that I could use from and to work, although I use to ride my bike, but now I take the bus and the only thing that I'm interested in a messenger bag is easy to move it around my body rather then to taking it off. And how does it your weight?

  • @Chuggy4daz

    @Chuggy4daz

    7 жыл бұрын

It is very easy to move around and I would highly recommend it! I will do a updated review at some point because it honestly is a great bag. The weight is a little heavier compared to other bags while unloaded. But under load it is very comfy and is easier to carry than some Timbuk2 bags. Keep in mind this is only my opinion. Best of luck and let me know if you have anymore questions!

How long is the strap on this one? can it be carried like most messengers on the side or is it made to be carried on the back constantly? hard to find any info :(

+cl4r17y Sorry for the late reply. It can be carried with one shoulder and one arm but most people would carry it as a cross-strapped bag on your back. The strap length should be on the misson workshop website. I have not taken time to mesasure mine. Hope this information helps.

Hey man, good review. Very informative. I'm 6' and around 180 lbs, do you have any suggestions as to which messenger I should buy, the Monty or Rummy? Im afraid the rummy will look to big, but I'm also afraid the monty will look like a purse. Any info would help. Thanks.

Hey Jonny, Sorry for the late reply. I haven't got a chance to post anything in a while and am currently taking finals. for a 6' person I honestly thing the rummy would work perfect for you! The Monty would for sure look small on you. If anything you could even use the shed. For the best look the rummy would stay high enough on your back to keep the centroid of the weight more controllable. Let me know if you have anymore questions. I'm going onto year 3 with the bag and still use it from time to time.

Awesome! Thanks for the reply. I was leaning toward the rummy, but you just helped me make my decision. Thanks man, I appreciate it. Are there any other messengers that sit high on the back that you would recommend? I don't really care for a side satchel type messenger, but the higher sitting ones would be more suited for me. Are there any you prefer? Thanks.

Honestly for the price and quality check out chrome's bag. Other than that, I wouldn't pick anything else. Some other options for you to see are at incase, peak design, or timbuk2. Hope that helps!

I have recently switched bags however when I used the misson-workshop messenger I used the Velcro piece that folds over the bag to make it a roll top to hold my pens.

It held up ok. Color is faded now but that's because it's been so long. Also took it outdoors a bunch. It's fine and think it will be great for you overtime.

  • @Chuggy4daz

daveC4037 It's also mission workshop. You have the option to add it to the cart when you buy the bag. At least in the past you did. I can't speak to what they do now.

cl4r17y, No problem, glad to help out. The bag's strap is about 22 inches at its shortest position and 32 inches full extended. The strap can be extended a few inches shorter or longer but then the strap started to bunch up and not look as clean and low profile. I can be carried on the side but it's a little awkward. It is best to carry it on your back. xmarkizzygx, The multi-tool rool up bag is 11x5x.5 inches rolled up to its smallest size and with nothing in it. unrolled without anything in it the roll up bag is 15x11.5x.2 inches. sorry for getting back so late. Hope my information helped out!

The price increase is probably related to the hand machined buckles. The fabric also feels pretty nice. It may have gotten cheaper in the past few years. Design is the same. Personal preference my man!
