Some guys recorded driving close to the contact zone ~10km radius of the base and they got intercepted by guards at gun point and threatened arrest or worse id they come back... so even if these guys are slick to come in close like 3 km of the base they would get spotted on thermal camera and would disappear forever.

Doubt he'd make it. It's basically the most guarded asshole on this planet. You can walk into Putrid's office if you fake a story, with more ease than you can in that place. There's various pictures on the dark web with guys who found discarded perimeter sensor around that place. That was back in the 90's. I imagine now they just can't be bothered and use either thermal, nvo, or a combination of the two

Pwnopolis This is not staged lol, it's just that Ukraine has many slips through security, do you believe he could've train surfed in a more advanced country? Or access random bunkers from the Cold War? I bet missions like this wouldn't work in the US or smth. These are completely forgotten and abandoned (buildings), I'm surprised they even had security there. And as they mentioned they have no cameras, as long as they don't get spotted they are safe. It is kinda risky because they could've maybe gotten shot but these guys don't fear death.

The poles are the antenna, it is an ELF system used to track signals by tracing strength from each pole to the next pole. By lining them up you can triangulate signals. If you have multiple bases like this around the world you can track even subs sending signals anywhere in the world. My older sister worked for US military and these types of arrays would be known as Dinosaur cages when the wires were up. Chris

Eh, Lets be real, the place is abandoned. I doubt they travel just two of them so I wouldn't be at all surprised if those were their friends down there. Just called them to gather somewhere and make a scene out of it to spice things up. I don't see why they would pay to have people patrol a obviously abandoned ground. Literally not a single building in there looks used in years.

I have to admit, I'm a little surprised that official guards in any former soviet facility bothered to put up a warning sign about a safety hazard, (the antenna). I would expected their attitude (even in today's time) to be, "You're not supposed to be in here. You get hurt, you get what you get." =)

That antenna park is quite interesting, what you saw there in my opinion is possebly a stratospheric radio emission device, the pole antennas are the transmitter and the dish is the first receiver. Since they cannot move, the only thing it can do is effect the stratosphere and perhaps this was an attempt to weather modulation such as HAARP in the USA

  • @apathtrampledbydeer8446

Don't stand on top of an actire radar antenna, you'll fry your balls, though the one you climbed looked pretty inactive, and I beleive those poles in the middle of the field were another antenna array but the interconnecting wires seemed to be scrapped for metal. Nice guards though, I guess they don't get payed enough to make a great hassle out of detaining you and all that, too much paperwork.

@@moritzneuschwander a radar usually uses a parabolic reflector exploiting the fact that the parabola reflects every line into its focus and vice versa. So a magnetron and a receiver both sit in the parabolic reflector's focus. a beam of microwaves is emitted from the magnetron on the reflector which directs it towards the target. the beam bounces on the target and is reflected back, hits the reflector and is focused back into the receiver. by computing different parameters like the doppler effect you are able to determine the position of the target. i rushed the explanation a bit but you can read the wiki for more details, but the essence is: a radar can fry your head, even a small one if you are close enough
