So, for reference, when I actually get time to learn to fly one of my warbirds I need to mind my Ps and Qs with those Ts and Ps PDQ.

I think that settles the .303 vs 20 mm debate! LOL! That Spitfire was a wrecking ball at 400 mph!
A year or two ago I saw a P-47 fly by near where I live; I was driving home from lunch and only got a passing glance as it went by... At the time, I wasn't quite sure of what I saw, as it seemed a little far-fetched for it to have been a real live Jug... But eventually I learned that there is a privately owned Curtiss-built P-47G called "Snafu" in the next town over from me, and the owner has a bunch of other warbirds in his collection, including a Mosquito FB Mk. VI...
I know warbirds are an ache with their lack of standoff weopens and the fidgety controls but that was stupidly good fun to watch.
Matrix is the GCI master. Love this one!
Beautiful "photography"! Some really artistic camera choices by Cap, such as the Mosquito midair collision with the Bf 109 against the sunlit English Channel with a Spitfire in the foreground, or the P-51 pulling away in a flyby after hitting a Bf 109 on a ship run. But the AI seemed really strange in this one. Almost no Ju 88 tail gunner fire (except for Cap), and the Bf 109s just motored straight in with almost no responses. A real "turkey shoot". Was that deliberate?
Old school Grim Reapers mission 🙂
You Matrix sit there and say just about anything in that voice and the world is all good. Reminds me of a real ATC

Ahhh yes, The calm and to the point voice of a former Tornado Pilot.
I've loved the "Wooden Wonder" since I was a child, I had like 5 home made kits my dad got me...My parents worked for Grumman R&D after USAF R&D in Vietnam, I allways brag becuase thats where they made the F-14...and had test pilots as babysitters ,and some crazy stories, and a few crashes, the F14 scale model Grumman gave me in 1977 if I had it, it was like 24 inches would probably be worth alot of money seeing they made it...I also had a A-6 Intruder ,seeing they made that too, and one day in early spring of 1983 a F-117 made a few fly bys and landed...

Living in the US, the 'mossie' is one bird I would love to see in real life. A fly by would be a bonus, but seeing a static display would make me happy.

I was driving on a back road in Auckland NZ and heard two Merlin's on song. Guessed what is was before I could see it . Stopped the car and watched one of AVPECS Newly rebuilt mossies KA114 doing a test fight out of ardmore . The sound, the sight will stay with me forever. Arguable the best aircraft of WW 2. They say about planes If it looks fast is probably is. A mossie simply looks and sounds right.
Great video guys, nice to hear you(perish the thought) sounding professional over the RT. Also thanks to Cap and the other Jug drivers for finally answering the question I had about how the 47 would have fared during the BOB if it had been available.

Yeh that was special.
A brilliant fun mission, great to be back in the Spit!! Cheers Matrix! 😎
LOL! Cap you didn't see the tree in front of the hanger???? Great effort, you would've made it if that piece of S wasn't their... Good video as usual! Lot's of BOOM BOOM!
GR NEVER fails to make me smile. Never change!
Personally, the WWII missions are the best. The dogfights are so much more entertaining to watch. Love all the other stuff, but WWII edges it for me
Have you considered doing a Final Countdown simulation with a late 70's early 1980s USN Carry vs IJN Pearl Harbour fleet plus aircraft? In the Film they never got to fight as the Temporal anomaly returned them to the present. USN Carriers had 24 F-14a or F4-J (The film only had F-14s IIRC), 10 x A6-E and 20 x A7-E Attackers

Nope. Had F14s. They were the ones intercepting the zeros.
Very good fun everyone, thanks for your time and planning. Stay happy and healthy all. Peace.

Matrix killed it as Magic.
Ah, a classic GR ending. Warms the heart, it does. 🥰
we need an external replay of the hanger fly thru!
"Formation Landing Still ON!" Classic GR Matrix Best GCI ever Question Mark?
Ooh "channels"! Used to that with RC planes.
Take some time and practice deflection shooting. The Americans were trained NOT to attack from the rear against bombers. If you attack from above and the side, lead your target, zoom past and up, then flip around and come again from the other side, lessens or eliminates the German's ability to shoot back.
Cap, you really need to stop saying that the P-47 wasn't designed for bomber intercepts. The original design intent behind the P-47 was exactly that: high-altitude bomber intercepts. It got pressed into service as a short to medium-range escort fighter, and eventually as a fighter-bomber (a role at which it excelled), but it was *designed* for bomber intercepts.
Good flying all around. Thanks Cap
I can't help humming the Battle of Britain theme watching this.
Super stuff!! Really fun mission to watch. QUESTION - Cap, why do you jettison the canopy during RTB?

Jug might not climb very well but it can pretty much out dive anything out there. You keep saying it wasn't designed for this or that. when in actuality it was. Look up the stats on jugs vs p-51s and you will be surprised. as to which one was better in combat. There were some squadrons who didn't want to give up their jugs for mustangs. fun fact, there were 2 mustang aces, and 2 jug aces. so saying a jug can't dogfight is a bit of a misunderstanding. when infact if you know how it works. it can take on a the mighty K4. because its pretty manuverable for its enormous size. someone just needs to teach you how to fly it right.. and you would appreciate it alot better then you do.. and realise it really is a beast of an aircraft no matter what its doing. A2A or A2G. It does both rather good.
GR please make a present vs past of Battle of Java sea on allied side Always liked your Final countdown vids👍
Cap- Seasonal Allergies kicking in?? You sound like me.... Lol.... And I'm across the Pond. It's supposed to be close to 35° C/90°F by Friday (at least here in Massachusetts) and the trees, grass etc are pollinating so I'm getting punished at present. As someone who WAS studying, Years ago, to be an F.E. on a C-5B Galaxy, THRILLED that I found this channel! Now.... If I could afford a PC for DCS....
I'll feel left out if I don't say jugs.
I really hope you feel better than you sound cap….. an idea while you recover…. Armed blackbirds operating at max altitudes as awacs killers. Not sure if you can mod it just seems like an interesting concept.

Great stuff as we've become used too. I had an idea for a mission/re-enactment. Operation vengeance, the mission to kill Adm Yamamoto in 1943.

@Ewen6177

@Pj Haebe actually 18 p38's for the allies. 2 X bombers and 6 X Zero's for escorts on the Japanese side. But maybe the Grim Reapers could play the Jap side not the Allies.
Getting your voice back!
Instructions Unclear. Yep, that's GR.
If I could write code, I could probably overwhelm DCS with all the aircraft I would like to see in there!!! An F4U, F6F, P-80, and P-84 just to name a few of the early US models, for the RAF I'd have to go with the Hurricane, Beaufort, Beaufighter, Lancaster, and Meteor. For the Luftwaffe, the Ta-152, Arado Blitz, and The Fw-200, Japan, the A5M, Val, Kate, Tojo, and Betty. The P-47 has to be one of my favorites. Although, I wished they had a "razorback" model as an option. Ummmm, does that mean Cap landed a P(G)-47 "Milkjug" glider? Just asking for my other personalities.

I'm right there with you on the "if I could write code" bit. If I could write code, I'd be leaning towards introducing the P-38 Lightning, FJ-2/3/4 Fury, and Alca L-159.
What if you used the Fokker G1?🤔 Great video guys
Lol “Magic jugs…”
"Cabbage crates coming over the briny!" (For all us Monty Python fans.) Great video, Reapers!
It’s a great DAY!
This video was absolutely epic... Has there ever been a Grim Reapers fantasy scenario of US Pacific fighters vs. Luftwaffe aircraft? Like somehow, a US Navy carrier is stationed off the coast of England, and it sends up Hellcats and Corsairs to face BF 109s and FW 190s over France?
Operation FUBAR or Rhubarb? Or are they the same? "Clean it up." "There's a Messerschmitt in the kitchen!". 250 days out of the year.....here is to the hopefully upcoming 115 of the healthy days.
Love you in a Jug, Cap. Matrix, you're superb at ATC
Cracked canopy now? Realism. No not cracked. Dirty. Birds, missile exhaust etc?
4 channel rocks. We got ailerons!
Bring back the Wolfpack!?
I have an idea for another wartime scenario. Involves China, involves the Solomon Islands, the US and the Australians. For those of you who do not know of the Solomon Islands, it's also known as Guadalcanal and the US lost a lot of troops there in World War II. I would contend that since the Chinese are just about ready to set up their military in the Solomon Islands, we will one day be fighting there to get them out. Again. In a scenario, I would assume that Taiwan has fallen to the Red Chinese.
I thought he was down after first bursts but always good to double tap like zombies.
That is one fantastic thumbnail, too.
Huge fan of Spitfires too.
Really enjoyed that one
Cap has to be the weakest immune system person I've ever known of, the guy is always sick😂, hope you get better sooner than later. Try locking door handles to boost your system😂
Hey Cap, I think you should try the idea of intercepting missile with ir one in the air. I dont know have you done it yet but I think it's quite interesting
OUTSTANDING boys.
20:15 did he shoot them then slice the wing off them with his own?
Cap 37:34 😎 49:25 😎 ⛳
I don't have the hard drive space for both the new Channel map and the new Sinai map. I keep debating which to choose and when I watch missions like this, I lean towards the Channel. I am a huge WW2 buff and this is just right in my wheelhouse.

You guys have a squadron in gunship sequel ww2?
I love Juggs!
Is there anyway to put modern weapons on the old war birds? That would be cool if you can
Do they have flying fortress? Can each of you run a gun on it?
Only problem is everything is revered depending on going away from you (what real pilots see) and coming back at you. It's all reversed. There is a trick to it.
This episode looks like it would be really fun to play but it is not very fun to watch for 54 minutes.
Still sounding very 'husky' Cap?!!

Cool
Would have been better if the enemy fought back
Can you get this on PS4/5 ?
The scenario set up I thought was really promising but I had to turn this off after 15mins because it got boring (to be frank). The AI were no reacting with more than a few basic defensive manoeuvres to being attacked and seemed to lack situational awareness. Where were the escorts and why were the Germans coming over in penny packets? That was not the doctrine - the bombers should have been close together for mutual protection with fighters flying cover. This was hardly a challenge for you guys.
Is it me or is anyone so annoyed from the tapping everytime they start to speak and end I find it so annoying
Some of you sound sick enough to be in Hospital...!!!!!!!!!!!!
