Dark Pit's wings DO glow with Viridi's colours: green at full speed, then blue as he slows down, and then red when he's stopping, as opposed to Pit's glowing blue at full speed, yellow when slowing down, and red when stopping. In fact I'm pretty sure that the entire point of canonising Dark Pit's alliance with Viridi was to enable this.

@@campfire9760 Dark Pit can only fly on his own in Uprising because he absorbed Pandora's remains, and he loses this ability in chapter 22 when Pandora revives herself at the Rewind Spring. Viridi is giving him the Power of Flight in Smash.

Here's one I've had for a while: Since the Fire Mario alt was cut to make room for Wedding Mario, I think it would've been cool if Mario's final smash had him temporarily turn into Fire Mario while he unleashes his fire spiral thing, even if it's only for a couple seconds. Would've made it look a bit more appealing.

In his normal stance, his sword is sheathed on his back. You'd have to wait for him to attack to visually see what art he's using and again, that's considering your eyes catch that detail at the speed of his movement.

Your intuition is somewhat correct, though-- All of Young Link's equipment, et cetera, reflects the OoT designs. He has the OoT version of the Kokiri Sword; he uses the OoT Hookshot; he uses the Fairy Bow; the Boomerang was in OoT but not MM; Navi is in his side taunt, not Tatl; his *_neutral tilt_* is loosely the finishing attack from the fight with OoT Ganon; there are probably others I missed. However, the child Hero of Time could only use the Hookshot and Bow in Majora's Mask. ...So it's only *_mostly_* OoT's young Hero of Time, but there are some... differences. Oddities. Liberties. Whatever.

He definitly should've been doing the "bweep bwup bwoop" sound he does when he died in the original game...

Ike doesn't have a shockwave attack, when he attacks someone at range in FE: Radiant Dawn using Ragnell (his big gold sword) it sends a shockwave to hit them, it's one of his main attacks in Radiant Dawn but it's not in smash, it should be his neutral B attack instead of eruption (which is made up for smash), that or make it so he can counter projectiles by sending a shockwave when he counters one

For the Joker one, in persona 5 you could change your costume in the metaverse to whatever you wanted, including his normal clothes. Since this only happens in the shadow world (meaning where he is fighting) it makes sense for him to wear his normal clothes yet still have Morgana appear as his chibi self. Because it's still a battle

Yeah, I remember in the beginning of the game Joker's clothes changed based on the control of his power, said by Morgana. But if we are gonna go with a missed opportunity for the Persona series, then it should be Joker's Dancing in Starlight as an alt. I know Smash came out first, but most content in the game was included before they debut in other games, like Joker's grappling hook for example. Besides, that outfit is the most fan favorite one.

@@DarkRen08- Yeah, it's real frustrating. It can't be spoilers, because they put Rivers in the Desert in, and I doubt its because Sakurai didn't want it in. If I had to guess, I'd say it was either way too costly to do so or Atlus refused to allow it in. Honestly I'd learn how to mod my switch just to get more persona music in there, the list now is so lacking compared to other DLCs

And personally I think the selection is lacking just because the list also has to mix in persona 3 and 4 songs but Atlus only would allow around 10 songs in the game, so the trade-off of having persona 4 and 3 songs was that the library from each game was super small and either atlus gave or the smash team simply asked for what we got. Also, the only thing that sucks about modding songs is that you have to replace existing songs because adding standalone songs aren't online safe since both you and your opponent hear the same song unlike in smash 4 where songs were entirely client side.

Missed opportunity: Endermans roll could have been him teleporting.

Pfft kirby is like 80 or so % of missed of opportunities

In the world of light intro cutscene it was shown that palutena gives the power of flight to both pit and dark pit, because it dissapeared for both when she died. So I guess thats why both have blue wings, I guess its more important to be faithful to that than to the hidden easter egg dialogue.

I have my problems with world of light (how did the Goddess of LIGHT die to Galeem) but in Uprising its shown that she can only give Power Of Flight to one Angel at a time. Yet another reason for me to hate world of light and pretend it doesn't exist

Here’s a missed opportunity that really annoys me When ness uses a smash attack it doesn’t show the SMAAAASH! effect from earthbound but if you kill a Star man it shows that effect

It would be cool if for Mario’s back throw he says “So long, a bowser!” or “Bye bye!” It seems I have mistaken myself: “So long, gay bowser!” and “Bye, bi”.

I think that absorbing projectiles for characters would still give you neutral special, with the only exception being Dedede and Yoshi’s ground pound stars. That still would be cool.

@Nintendo Guska I think the twirl spin is a move you could do in super Mario bros for wii u, super Mario odyssey, 3D land etc. pretty much you would spin in the air for a short amount of time if you manage to spin the character around than jump

Not really, because that custom was trash. While it did enable him to move on the ground, it had virtually no horizontal utility whatsoever, which the move needs to have. Instead, they should have kept the effect only specifically for grounded Up Special.

Meanwhile in Nintendo: WRITE THAT DOWN! WRITE THAT DOWN!

When Sonic drowns the last note of the drowning music should play

Missed opportunities: -Mario could turn into Fire Mario during his Final Smash to make up for the removed costume -Sonic could have used the "Your too slow" voice clip from that one sonic boom episode for his side taunt -Young Link could have the Fierce Diety for his Triforce Slash while Toon Link could become the three Links from Tri Force Heroes

I didn't think of Triforce Heroes Links ! It makes so much sense as they have Green, Blue and Red hair, it wouldn't be confused with costumes ! Also, yeah Hyrule Warriors uses the Triforce even with Fierce Deity Link, but I really feel like it shouldn't be Triforce at all, just Fierce Deity slash

I suppose, though I watched a video a bit ago that explains that Wario is based more on WarioWare than anything else. Him being wacky and weird is just to reflect that. Can't really reference the microgames that easily because of how many there are to pull from, but i like him now. I'd definitely prefer the Wario from Project M over this one any day though.

Oh gosh I've been holding on to this one forever: Why...when Pac-Man dies, does it not do his death sound?? At least when he has a star k.o. instead of silence. In stamina mode when his stock is taken he could die just like he does in his original game.

I had a similar idea. My idea is with final smashes like zelda's or ridley's. Those final smashes will make you dissappear into thin air over 100%. What would have been cool is that instead of disappearing meta knights mask would break and he would have to leave to get another mask

Also, the reason why Joker’s gun and so works is because of the cognition of the other fighters. The other fighters cognition doesn’t necessarily change for Morgana but it makes sense for a costume

The thwomp assist trophy also has a missed opportunity. When the thwomp drops, he doesn't say "URGH!"

Before ultimate he was mid tier, perfectly balanced however in smash they nerf him for no reason, not to mention when everyone else has their speed buffed in ultimate sonics speed wasn't buffed. He should at least get a damage buff for his attacks and his old final smash. (Also maybe make his up b tails bringing him up)

@Noah zzstu Smith dude his whole point in smash 4 was he was fastest and yet he wasn't even the fastest in that game (some dash attacks were faster) so if everyone else gets faster then so should sonic seeing as his whole thing is speed. Also massive damage? He does 6% per hit not including smash attacks and the whole "relative to speed" thing doesn't work as he attacks at the same speed as most other midweight characters. So yeh but no

@Noah zzstu Smith sorry about the dash attack thing I mixed 4 up with ultimate but I still stand by what I said, there was no need to nerf him, and he is only fast when running, not in the air or attacking. I never meant boost his run speed I meant boost his attack speed, because he loses all momentum for most attacks and the only fast attack (spin dash) needs to be charged up first. There was no need to nerf him, but they did. (I wonder why)

Besides demons, Ganondorf is the king of missed opportunity. I have three ideas. 1. Warlock Blade (From Smash 4): It would work way too well and would still work with the new smash attacks. 2. Flame Choke/Flame Drop: Just alter the air Version of Flame Choke to have the opponent hang in the air a bit before Ganondorf punches them and carries them with him (for animation reference, think of when Ganondorf punches out the floor in Ocarina of Time.) 3. Slow floating after his up special: The fact that he can’t float doesn’t make sense, even as a Falcon clone. Make it where he floats after up special, like Peach does, and remove the ability to do a second up special (Imagine having a float right after grabbing someone. That’s busted.) Those are my ideas for an improved Ganondorf that won’t change his moveset too drastically (say for idea 3.)

Even the smash series acknowledge this when she was an assist trophy.... Even the abilities that she has in common with Samus are different.

I've got something to say about the Pits' Power of Flight (PoF for short): -First off, if you watch closely, Dark Pit's PoF is indeed green compared to Pit's blue, at least at the beginning. It's hard to see because it quickly phases to a redder color (red or magenta-ish). -Second, Palutena talked about having a fair fight with Pit during her guidance. Therefore, since she allows Pit to use her PoF everytime he fights on Smash, it wouldn't be fair if she decided not to allow him to use it during a sparring match with her. The biggest missed opportunity to me is not giving Bowser, Donkey Kong and Diddy their real voices and instead reusing stock animal sounds. (maybe for K Rool too, but at least his sounds are much more expressive that the others' grunts...)

@@duragdee2760 True, that's still a bummer to me... When Sakurai designs newcomers, he's so faithful to them, but when it comes to Veteran, they're set in stone. Just look at the recently revealed Steve: Sakurai kept the simple stickman-like movements he has, and the dev team is tweaking every stage to allow Steve's block placement to work properly. Hell, even King K Rool got somewhat of a voice...

@@Supershadow301 Thing is, you have to keep in mind how difficult it is to develop something like Smash Ultimate. And when you're working with 70+ characters, you're bound to not give all the same amount of quality, as well as Sakurai envisioning these characters differently from us. It gets even more complicated when companies that own the characters used have specific requirements on how they are portrayed.

Can I bring up robin and young link’s final smash? Having fierce deity link and Fell dragon Grima would be awesome. Especially since chrom is in ultimate and young link didn’t have a final smash

At the VERY least Robin's Final Smash should've had a tweaked Robin model for Morgan. Like seriously, shrink it a bit, add a new head and boom, close enough. Grima would've been the best no doubt (especially since awakenings old enough to be safely past spoiler zone), but I was so disappointed that they didn't do something for them.

3:36 Actually, Dark Pit's wings do glow green. They do turn blue during the move, but that's after the initial green.

@@hihigocat the move was actually mistakenly called "Pandora Wings" in the Smash 4 official guide book! But the move (for both Pits) is, in-game, called "Power of Flight".

@@aidanthegamer5 yeah but my thought process was that in ki:u dark pit stole pandora's power after being created, which made his wings turn purple when he uses the power of flight

The reason why things don't change in game when you change costume, is because of the rule that they must behave exactly the same, with the same effects and hit/hurt boxes. Outside of the game, and in cutcenes, they can act differently. This is why Morgana needs to keep his original appearance, as regardless of what he looks like, he still needs to do the same pose.

Yes, I agree that this is the case. While I do understand where some of those specific complaints are coming from, demanding that alternate costumes behave as different characters altogether is definitely unreasonable, and that would break the game, as it would make potentially certain costumes unplayable. Costumes are meant to make your character look different, and while they do put in work in making sure the costumes make some amount of sense as a reference, they are not supposed to be full-fledged references either. Otherwise, you may as well just make the alternate a whole separate playable character with unique moveset instead.

5:53 CORRECTION AND SPOILERS FOR PERSONA 5! Near the end of Persona 5, the Phantom Thieves set up a fake interrogation room in Momentos, with Joker wearing his school uniform while still in Momentos. Technically wrong, but it'll still be a cool idea.
