Just don’t use the same exact color, and make them vary or have different schemes. It’s that simple. For example the purple inkling you could have another purple octoling but with a lighter or darker color and a scheme. For example have purple with blue or black. Or make the octoling a have the same scheme as the idols. (7 in total, only need 6, the octo expansion one should be required.) Sure they may became an echo fighter, but they could still have differences. For example octoling could do less damage in terms of inking (since they’re newer to games) but better mobility and moves.

I think it would have been cool for child link could use the special moves as smash attacks as that would give a fun wind up animation and an a cool way to capture cutscene skipping.also since power could be ramped could add some wind up time to help balance and prevent the difficulty

I wish for Botw link we had a flurry rush final smash. Works similar to Young and Toon Link's final smashes, but he backflips away then dashes towards his opponent before he hits them multiple times with inhuman speed.

For shrine 48 (at around 38:40), the way I got the bonus chest was by getting the platform to shoot me up into the air and then gliding over to the chest!

I just started playing recently, something I noticed is that if you use the Smash Bros. Link amiibo to get Epona in TotK, then go to a stable and have them retrieve your horse data from BotW, and it has Epona from that game you can get two of her.

tbh i think toon link finas smash should be based on 4 swords, like a cutscene final smash with all attacking the enemies and throwing them away

Octolings COULD work but as a reskin of inklings that's all (Also I hope that after ading Snake from mgs they would ad Raiden not from mgs2 but from metal gear rising)

Interesting Concept: Inkling alts get split in half and alt 5 and beyond are octolings (not exactly alts but echo fighters more like a built in untoggleable echo fighter button) octolings having a different moveset like a chargeable sniper, dynamo roller which does more damage but is slower and heavier, and maybe even a minigun

The issue of important stuff being undistinguishable already exists. Rosalina has her own colors, but Luma has its color independent from Rosalina. Same with Duck Hunt Duo's can. And Sephiroth in general, since he has only two costumes. Yes, those are things that can be controlled by the player, but that still might be one extra misinput and definitely half a second before you know what's going on.
