I’m so incredibly proud of my country South Africa, like Siera if I had to describe the amount of national pride and the contentfulness in being black, in having the same type it’s unreal. South Africa has a relatively small pageant community, but I think it grew after her win. Mothers, girl-friends feel so vindicated and excited about her win. This is such a great and historic moment for our country toward paving the way for equity, representation in pageantry, breaking universal standards of beauty, the status quo of what a Miss Universe should look like and be. Our organization is phenomenal- I’m so happy to represented by such a Transformative team ,a team that does not see colour but recognize the potential of every girl beside her socio economic background. I’m in awe of Zozibini Tunzi. I’m even more happier for a feeling of Winning Tamaryn our first runner up got to have through her, the vindication is unreal. To the pageant fans across the globe, South Africa is so warm and so inviting, please accept our queen with open arms, show her some care and love. I loved every single one of your national delegates. Thank you Siera for keeping us updated and for always showing support ♥️♥️ you’re amazing.

Luis Pala I wasn’t talking to you actually lol And being a powerhouse doesn’t pertain to JUST miss universe. Philippines have won many crowns and queen titles across global pageants and have been the country who’s made it to top 20 for years in a row including top 10 and top 3. Philippines will ALWAYS be considered in rounds 🤷🏻‍♀️ Pretty hypocritical of you to say “nasty followers” towards Filipinos when you’re saying haha to her losing. You want sportsmanship but you’re not doing it also HAHA now that’s funny

This year pageant is one of the most competitive edition of Miss Universe ever. But what I'd like to highlight the most is that there're so many well spoken women. It's not merely about beauty and look but women with substance. Glad that Miss. Universe emphasizes more on that. What a great edition despite so many issues during the preliminary. In addition, Thanks Siera for the unbiased reviews & insights throughout Miss. Universe this year.

Very true, all participants were of excellent quality. Beautiful, educated and intelligent, it was noted that they worked hard to get to the contest. And I liked that they selected girls from 18 to 28 years old, with and without experience in the competitions. A pity that it was very little time and it was not possible to know more of them. We hope that IMG leaves and a new owner arrives to take MU to his glory times but tempered to the times. Each and every country should feel proud of their queens, the competition was tough and fair. In 🇵🇷 we are super proud of Madison and wish 🇿🇦 a wonderful reign. And if IMG finally manages to sell, may the transition be for good.

I think Miss Philippines looked shaken up after being called into the top 20 as a wild card rather than in her region, she must have been dreading being the one to break the streak of Philippine queens making it into the semi finals. She looked incredibly nervous whenever she was talking to Steve and then in her statement. I feel bad for her because obviously miss universe is huge in the Philippines and she had a huge weight on her shoulders, trying to follow up after Catriona Gray, it looked to me like she just crumbled a little under pressure.

2 FACTOR WHY PHILIPPINES DIDNT MAKE IT TO THE TOP: 1. SPEECH DELIVERY(she’s stuttering, lack of feeling/emotion and very nervous. 2. SOME WESTERNERS DOESNT RELATE TO THE ADVOCACY THAT GAZINI FIGHTING FOR IN WESTERN COUNTRY BASICALLY THE ELDERS THERE HAS A CERTAIN PLACE WHEN THEY GET OLD WHICH IS THE HOME FOR THE AGED ITS LIKE A CLUTURE THING THERE. ONLY HERE IN PHILIPPINES FAMILY IS VERY IMPORTANT AND WE ARE FAMILY CENTERED VERY DIFFERENT FROM WESTERNERS.

  • @aly3287

I 100 percent agree this is why Gazini did not make it. Her coaches focused too much on her modeling aspect of the competition and not her platform. Yes you can say Gazini picked something that Westerners would not understand. But if they know this, they should include another platform, like Cat and Pia did by saying they wanted to handle HIV and AIDS along with their local / cultural issues.

john banez - Such b.s. I loved her platform. We 🇺🇸 love our parents and grandparents just as much as the Philippines 🇵🇭 do and we struggle with these decisions. Everybody does not go to the home for the age (Nursing Homes/Retirement Homes), as that requires money $. We also take care of our parents/Grandparents/Family. However, since the U.S.A. is made up of many different “cultures” including: Filipinos (Top 20) Puerto Ricans (1st place), Mexicans (2nd place), Africans (Winner) etc. These homes for the age are now changing their food and care to represent many cultures, languages and customs. They provide 24hour care, activities and elders live longer - like anything else, We still have to continue to ADVOCATE for our parents & Grandparents care in their old age in or out of a nursing home or at home. They are NOT placed in these old homes and forgotten that depends on an individuals heart ❤️ We even have programs that pay you to stay at home and take care of the elderly. Sadly, everybody is going to die. 🙏🏻 than can not be stopped Anyway, I still love Miss Philippines 🇵🇭 platform: it’s important for all of us to be respectful and care for our elders, as we will become old one day ourselves. If this is Miss Philippines 🇵🇭 platform, it means this type of thinking also exists in the Philippines 🇵🇭

Ask4TheUpgrade yes you have a point but in western countries actually they are very independent im not saying that everyone like this that they left their love ones in home for the aged there still whose very into family but if your going to think of it i guess 90% of the people there left their old love ones to the home for the aged its like a common thing there and that advocacy for elders is not really a big issue there mean while in philippines we live together in a single roof regardless if you have have your own family.

It's really shameful to hear what happened to you. This should never happened when it comes to arguably the biggest beauty pageant in the world! Like come on! Deshauna, Miss USA 2016 also had the same issue as you, and she ended up leaving the venue early due to how crowded it was indoors. Based on what Deshauna said, MUO could have been sued for breaching safety regulations due to exceeding capacity, if this wasn't the intended capacity of the Oprah Winfrey Soundstage. Personally speaking, this year's competition was such a disappointment. So much stage rehearsing and yet many finalists didn't know where to stand during the finals. However, I was happy for Miss South Africa! A very well deserved winner.

Congratulations to her for her and her team’s hard work and effort, her national costume was PHENOMENAL. However, that’s why I wanted Bea Patricia “Patch” Magtanong or Emma Mary Tiglao to win Binibining Pilipinas-Universe 2019... 😕 It’s not enough to be just beautiful in ANY facet of life, because there are a lot of beautiful delegates out there in pageants, but when they’re beautiful _AND_ also skilled in communication and other talents, being beautiful just isn’t enough to advance. But like I said, congratulations to her for her hard work, there’s no doubt she didn’t at least try.

GoodOlAllisonHarvard I think she prepared and did everything she could to get there, but unfortunately, kinabahan sya. Obvious naman in her voice. Nanginig. Na-overwhelm siguro bigla.

Charlie Tolentino , yes maybe she has the looks, but the personality is just not there. I remember how she was during the Bb. Pilipinas question and answer portion. Good luck, wishing her the best.
