THE FACT THAT PIA CHOSE HER FINAL WALK GOWN OVER THE WINNING LOOK FOR HER WAX STATUE SHOWS HOW MUCH OF A TRUE QUEEN SHE IS! SHE'S SO PASSIONATELY EMPOWERING OTHER WOMEN, AND SUPPORTIVE OF FUTURE QUEENS. THAT STATUE OF HER LIFTING HER ARMS TO CROWN SOMEONE IS SYMBOLIC OF HOW SHE WANTS TO BE KNOWN, AS SOMEONE THAT LIFTS UP OTHER WOMEN, NOT JUST DRAWING ATTENTION TO HERSELF ALONE! AND DEFINITELY THAT GOWN WAS THE BEST ONE EVER!

Pia's picture of her holding the crown is ICONIC. No other farewell gown picture could compare (I wish Iris was captured in a similar moment as well). Iris' gown fit the best and she looked immaculate and she looked like a goddess descending from the heavens, but Pia's gown ate the stage with its dazzling breadth and dramatic sparkle, and her slicked back hairstyle was just the perfect choice. The fact that it was chosen for her Madame Tussauds wax figure says a lot.

3. Paulina Vega: Her gown is so classy that it can be worn by a Hollywood Star at the Oscars. Love the details on the back. 2. Riyo Mori: Her look screams power, breaking the pageant rules and making a statement about equality that women can also wear tuxedos in pageants and still looked just as glamorous. 1. Pia Wurtzbach: ICONIC. No wonder she's the most famous, most celebrated, most iconic Miss Universe of all time. Everything about her farewell look is perfect!

Best Farewell Gowns👗 (in my opinion) 1. Pia Wurtzbach - I’d like to describe it as a gown that beautifully haunting. You see Pia in that gown and the image just seers into your mind long after you’ve first seen it. It’s amazing as a farewell gown because it doesn’t take away from the newly crowned Miss Universe, it simply makes Pia seem like a steady presence behind the new queen- sort of like a gentle reminder of the history of queens before her and of the standards Miss Universe sets. 2. Riyo Mori - Iconic. Girl boss. Historical. Revolutionary. It’s definitely an out of the box idea, and that’s what’s amazing about it. It represents a woman’s capability, like queens aren’t “just” a pretty face- they are smart, firm, and can totally outpace men in a workplace. I also wish more women wore suits for format events, as a symbol of non-conformity to what society thinks a woman should wear. 3. Catriona Gray - It’s a gown that tells a story, not many gowns can do that. It’s a gorgeous gown with a lot of meaning and intent behind it. Even without the explanation, I was still imprinted the impression of birds soaring above sparkling blue waters accentuated with even bluer skies. The devil is in the details, and the details definitely sold me on this gown. 4. Demi-Leigh - Again, this is a gown that tells a story. This is also an incredibly unique gown, I’ve never seen anything like it. It’s a reflection of Demi’s culture and African heritage embodied in dazzling cloth. I’m not sure if this was on purpose but it gives me an impression of lush forests, extending saharas, winding murky rivers, and the scorching sun on the horizon. If you look at a gown and see something beyond sparkles, glamour, and cloth- then that is an extraordinary gown. 5. Iris Mittenaere - It’s a gorgeous gown and it looks great on Iris. It’s the type of gown where you’d take your time drinking in the glamour and it’d leave you breathless with it’s beauty. The only reason I’m ranking this lower than the other four is because I think as a Farewell Gown, it takes away from the new queen quite a bit. From the pictures of the coronation, my eyes were immediately drawn to Iris and my brain immediately disregarded the new queen. I’m pretty sure this is because the gown is red- IMO the best Farewell Gowns are those in cooler tones (but that’s probably just me 🤷‍♀️).

When we saw Pia’s gown in person at MOA, everyone’s mouth just dropped and in awe. It was perfect on her. Same feeling with Iris’s.

My picks : 1. Pia 2. Iris ( Michael Cinco is my favourite designer & these queens really rocked those looks hands down) 3. Catriona 4. Paulina 5. Jeniffer 6. Riyo 7. Leila 8. Demi 9. Natalie 10. Stefania 11. Gabriella 12. Ximena 13. Dayana 14. Zuleika 15. Olivia (Olivia & Zuleika would be my top choices for the winning gows. But their farewell gowns were big disappointments)

@Mr. Jacolero yeah! she looked like she's damn annoyed. That smile in the winning moment was so generous. I missed it so much in the farewell. & i felt bad for Riyo cuz it is the previous queen who 1st shows the gestures, the love to the new queen. But still her gown was good compared to Olivia. As Sierra told Olivia is a fashion icon now but she wore a dress that was not good for farewell moment in MU at all. So i put her last. Have a good time. Pls stay safe💜

Pia and Iris are my favorites. Totally agree with you that I love when MU comes out for her final walk with no sash and no crown. It’s like she’s peacefully passing the torch. When they come out with the sash and/or crown, it’s like they’re not ready to let go yet and the final walk seems sad for them instead of being happy and optimistic for the next MU.

Pia looks like barbie doll, I love those stolen pictures of her she really looks amazing and beautiful 💙

It's overkill. It does not have to be said on every video. Hey did you see Siera teeth they are soi white. Then I guarantee you that atound 10 people from the Phillipines would take credit for the whotening strips she uses. Stop it! The dresses are beautiful but being humble is breathtakingly beautiful.

@@bluemacaroni2928 It was $5M but it doesn't look like a 5 million dollar crown - it was like a small crown for me, I prefered the Diamond Nexus, Mikimoto and the DIC Crown, the Mouawad was like a tiara FOR ME.

Totally agree with your observation about Zulyeka's crowning of Riyo Mori! It was the WORST crowning I've ever seen in any pageant-Zulyeka looked so pissed off and basically just dumped the crown on Riyo, did not congratulate her and stalked off. I thought it was so ungracious and declasse. If you compare the warm, smiling, hugging, kissing ways that other winners crowned their successors, Zulyeka's behavior is just inexcusable.

I was in SM MOA Arena, Manila, Philippines during the Miss Universe 2016 coronation show and it was my very first M.U. live show I've ever seen in the flesh. MU 2015 Pia Wurtzbach in cobalt blue gown by Michael Cinco was iconic indeed! She was like the real life Walt Disney Princess, Cinderella coming to a ball where everyone turns their heads in amazement. That's the feeling as a live audience. 👍

Great video as always, Siera! I’ve been a huge follower of yours for some time now (since MU 2016) but have only just started up my own pageant blog. The main reason for my comment today was in response to your observations about Zuleyka giving up her title in 2007 - that’s something that’s bothered me for so long! The fact she gave no congratulations to Riyo - no words, no hug, nothing - was so disappointing, as you say. When you look back at other crownings, and see queens like Pia, Natalie, Olivia and Iris looking so genuinely happy to welcome a new queen to the MU sisterhood, it’s just baffling why Zuleyka didn’t do the same. Maybe a Puerto Rican pageant fan has an explanation?! Anyway, thanks again for your awesome content - and congrats on reaching 100K! All the best from Australia, from Roger (The Pageant Nerd). Oh, and more thing I’ve been interested to know. If you had won Miss Universe, what would’ve been the main issues you’d have focused on during your reign, in addition to MUO’s? Thanks again!

For me, the Best one is Sushmita Sen during her final walk in 1995. She wore a traditional sari and with veil. She embodied queen, like an ancient Indian queen! That moment was iconic
