[✓] CO2 Pneumatic Tool Regulator: amzn.to/2nJi0Tc
[✓] 23 Gauge Pin Nailer: amzn.to/2ntuMoz
Hey everyone, this is my modified 23 Gauge Pin Nailer. In this video you'll find a special regulator designed to work with standard paintball tanks…currently I have an ultra portable setup using this 12 gram CO2 cartridge adapter and it can easily provide power to pneumatic tools like this one. Lets see what this thing can do!
I really think this setup has a lot of potential and I already have a few ideas in mind. Harnessing the power of these CO2 cartridges could lead to something really awesome.
Please post a detailed comment below and let me know what you think. To me its extremely important because reading the feedback you post is a huge motivator for me.
They actually discontinued the modified version, probably to save money by lowering the quality. Now I could have settled with the new model you see on the box, but there’s some really great features to the older model and overall I just think this version looks way cooler with the anodized aluminum, it almost has a steampunk look to it.
FUNNY STORY; I actually had to secretly swap out the one that was on display using tools that I found around the store. I only needed an allen key and crescent wrench to remove the bottom here and remove the set screw in the bead that was attached to the steel cable going up the industrial plug here at the bottom. Naturally this is the best thing I could have come up with at the time. It was actually really easy but kinda nerve racking because I probably wasn’t suppose to do that. Feeling sorta guilty I ended up buying the tools that I used so I don’t see the harm done, plus in some way I helped the store by updating their display rack with the new model that they currently sell. So overall, I’d say it was worth it. No harm done.
I’m going to push for the maximum air pressure and this regulator pressure gauge makes it easy to control
Inside of each of these cartridges is 12 grams of liquid CO2. Now after doing some research I found that there is about 800 PSI inside of each at any given time. This is dependent on the temperature of the gas. As we release gas from this cartridges it's going to become colder and the pressure is going to drop which means after some time we’re going to have to wait for the temperature to rise if we want to fire off at the maximum pressure 120PSI.
Now I’m totally aware that I could get way better results by using a full size paintball tank and attaching it to a backpack or belt clip, but I think it's way more badass to have everything together in a compact pistol setup. I’m going to continue working on this, but that’s all I have for today. Thanks you for turning in and take it easy.

You should either make the needler with perhaps a couple of spaces for more cartridges or make some sort of a bigger canister and just fire as many as possible, hi from the uk

i love the concept, maybe with a larger air supply the usage would be stable. Reminds me of that scene in Iron Man when Tony Stark goes Rambo with his homemade pistols. It would be interesting to see if the nail gun could fire a stronger projectile, one that you could make by modifying the original nails. all together i love the idea!!!

question about regulators, i have read online that 12 co2 cartridges have a gas pressure of about 800psi, is there any advantage of using a high pressure regulator before the low pressure one?

Nice work! You should try making a heating coil/heating wires or something to maintain the optimal temperature for high pressure efficiency. If you get that sorted you could build some pretty insane things with even bigger cartridges :D

having this as a mountable weapon on simething like a gauntlet would be cool and make it more practical im a battle encironment. you would also need to find a way of making the cartridges more easily interchangeable. perhaps a click in and latch release mechanism as oppose to a screw in cartridge as that eould take way more time, that would be like screwing in a gun magazine.

Do you still have a list of parts to do this? This would be perfect for those little quick repairs or hobby jobs when you only need at most a few pins and don't want to lug around a compressor and hoses to the work. Way better than the pricey battery powered pin nailers for such light use.

in my opinion, you should attach the gold part to the front of the gun so you can see the dial-thing, and you can hold the cartridge at the bottom. if you use an insulated glove, it could charge the thing faster, and your and won't get so cold just an idea, sorry if this was hard to understand, I just wanted to contribute.

I think a revolving C02 chamber with 4-6 cartridges in it would be cool, but I have no idea how you'd go about doing it and making it airtight. If you could do it so it revolves the cartridges around after the shot or something , that might give them enough time to warm up again when it comes around to shoot. Another option would be to convert it into a nerf gun :D

  • @ionavram4002

think you can make/fuse this with a coil gun, also (maybe for another project)use a gas capsule per projectile(the capsule would be like a cartridge or put in a cartridge) and put em in a Nerf clip/magazine (if different project please keep the coil gun barrel+gas bullet)

this looks like the steampunk equivalent of a blowdart gun, so I think you could dip the tacks in some kind of toxin or something to induce sleep. It seems fairly silent, as well. otherwise, I think going big is your next move here, using a larger tank and magazine for the tacks. keep up the good work!

The nail gun idea seemed like a possible weapon at first. but seeing the types of ammo you can use, it's not really practical at all. I can't actually see any modification with the current 'gun' you have as the nail are basically sewing pins. However, the only way I could think of it being viable as a weapon is by hiding it within a glove, or finger, and have some type of poison on it. By squeezing your palm, the gun is triggered and delivers a close range poison dart. A bit of a suggestion I would like to make for a possible project would be a card shooter like gambit and that spiderman line shooter
