I feel ya. These guys were the highlight of my week post Harvey the Hurricane. I was doing clean up and hassling with insurance and FEMA and the Flite Test crew and a few other notables on KZread were my hour or two of break time from a really tough time. They kept me laughing and SANE . These little videos mean alot to people.

I intend to build one of these. I was lucky enough to solo on my 16th birthday in the same 150 that my dad soloed in on his 16th birthday. My grandpa taught people to fly in it when it was new. N6762G was destroyed in a hangar collapse but I have one piece of it on my 150. I can't wait to build and fly one of these models.

I learned in several sesnas from the 150 up to the 182. Used to fly with my dad quite a bit. We actually had a Jodel F-11A that we were building. Waited over 2 years to get the wing kit shipped to us which took its toll financially and dad ended up donating it to the local EAA chapter

I’ve been really looking forward to this! I’m currently in flight training and I fly the Cessna 150 on a regular basis. I tell everyone it’s a phenomenal trainer aircraft (so long as the weather’s nice of course :) ). Seeing it fly like the real Cessna 150 made my day and I’m definitely gonna build one! Thanks flite test team and Ben Harper!

Anything Ben is doing has my attention. The back history of this model is great. Looks beautiful in the air. In the video, that P-47 fuselage on the wall in the background is beautiful. OK! second story "carrier landings" in the bay doors of FT World Head Quarters. Breakout the Corsairs, no bolters. Cat shot table aimed out the balcony

I love the commuter. My dads friend has one and one of my favorite planes. I am learning how to fly on it and it is so fun. My dad has a stationair with g1000 and can’t see that well on so it is hard to learn on. The 150 is also just more fun for training and has actual guages and easier to fly. I can also fly left seat in the 150 because my dad is not comfortable right seat and his friend is a trainer. I will probably paint this like his.

Great info BUT ,I have a question....for example ( just an example ) the Store shows the commuter plane as a standard plane ( not a mini ) and uses the Power Pack A and it shows the simple Cub as a standard but suggests the Power Pack B.....so the question is can you use the SAME power pack A in the Simple Cub and or the Power Pack B in the Commuter ? Why and or why not ? seems to be about a 8 inch difference in wingspan but should not affect the ability to use either Power pack.....may slow the Cub down more and or speed up the commuter....but will A work with the CUB and make the power pod switchable to both for example ? Just curious as to yes or no and WHY ? Thanks in advance ....

I got planes that are fast but that gets old after a while...but I really like to just fly low and slow on nice calm days...harass my cat with my little umx cub sport.. What would be perfect would be a cub sport with 2 wings..all umx biplanes are brushless with 2 cell making them near twice the weight...I don't know why they never made a 1 cell brushed biplane...the sport cub seems to have more then enough power...

I got the SE5 down to 245g loaded, I think the Mini Scout in the FT board would be well under that and the entire UMX series from Horizon Hobby are all sub 250. Xjet is releasing his sub 250 FPV plane this month too. There are also hundreds of Depron foam based designs around, they might not be FT but many of those are under 250g and the foam is easier to buy outside the USA, unlike Adams foamboard.

Hey guys, I’m in the middle of designing a smaller (umx) style timber. I fell in love with that plane even though I really don’t like umx planes due to the way they handle. I’ve always found umx planes too squirrelly, but the timber - being a 5 channel plane with functional flaps - made me fall in love with it. The design so far is a bit bigger than the umx timber, but most of the characteristics are the same. Once I’m completed and tested, where would I be able to share the plans besides KZread?

Ruedi Schubarth awesome, will do once it is tested, tried, and true. My old man and I own a laser cut business (lasercutUSA) and we mostly distribute scale balsa warbirds and turbine jets, but we have been completely mesmerized by the work you guys have been doing over the years, and you offer free plans which is completely admirable and just goes to show that your business model is one to be the standard of all US based businesses - care about your constituents and customers and they will spend money. Do you have an email I can have? I need to bounce something off you guys and don’t wanna broadcast it just yet. On the original topic, I can’t wait until you guys see our mid size (between a umx and 1.5) scratch build timber plans and how it flies. We would like to send you guys the first laser cut kit to build and maybe test. We want NO money off of it, we just feel the umx timber, as well as her bigger brothers are amazing plans to learn how to fly if you are a beginner and want to step the game up a bit with adding another channel for flaps
