Mini Countryman | Leaking door rubber |

Автокөліктер мен көлік құралдары

💧 This Mini came in to us for drying, but the leak hadn't been found. We didn't do a full inspection on this vehicle but know the places where they leak, especially when they have had replacement windscreens.
We found that the A-pillar clips were not replaced properly, but the main problem appears to be an incorrectly fitted door rubber.

The videos shown on this channel are taken from inspection reports, filmed for the customer who has paid for a diagnostic inspection, which comes with a video report. We share them here for informational purposes because the hardest part of fixing leaky cars is finding the leak.
After the initial inspection, if the customer agrees to have the work done, we film progress reports for the customer and will sometimes include them here.

Q: How much does it cost?
A: We don't know. That's why we do a diagnostic inspection. We cannot answer the question of how much it costs to fix before we know the extent of the problem. Prices for our inspection and hourly rates can be found on our website.
Q: Why don't you show us how to fix it?
A: This isn't a DIY channel, we are sharing videos we take for the customer as part of our inspection process. Furthermore, the vast majority of the fixes are simple, and if you need to ask how to fix them, you probably should let a professional deal with it. See below:

⚡ Electricity and water is a dangerous combination. This is especially the case with electric and hybrid cars, but most modern cars have electronic control units in areas which are prone to water ingress. These are easily damaged and can be expensive to replace.
💥Areas that need to be accessed to fix water leaks may contain air bags. These are explosive and can be quite sensitive. Tampering with them could lead to serious injury.
☣️ Cars that have been damp for a prolonged period often contain mould, mildew and dangerous bacteria. Mould spores can seriously affect the health of people with asthma, the old, very young, and people with compromised immune systems. Mould should always be taken seriously.

Any chance you can help us out with some part numbers for say the door rubbers, those plastic clips on the pillars, and the rubber o-rings too (although any o-ring would probably work, so maybe a generic part number or dimension)??

Sorry no. We don't have parts numbers. We just call up our local supplier and tell them what we want.

I think I have this problem. Do I have to remove the front seat or can I just remove the side panel and lift the carpet in the front to vacuum up the water?

i think i have a similar leak issue to do with the passenger door rubber. For you though, it really depends on how much water you have in there - if its like someone has dumped a bucket of water in the footwell then you're going to want to get it all out the best you can with the tools to hand, if you can get most of it out with the vacuum and squeezing the foam then great, otherwise you might want to start taking more bits out at a guess.
