Her comment “Potter is a boy, not a piece of meat” made me realise that she was the only one who ACTUALLY cared whether he lived or died without any agenda. Dumbledore only cared so he could defeat Voldemort, Snape didn’t give a shit about him but only about Lily, Minerva was the only one who genuinely cared about his well-being.

@@TheNannalol Yeah they left out the best parts about all the professors. The only person Dumbledore ever confided in about killing Ariana was McGonagall, so he was a pretty private person. But I still think Aberforth and Dumbledore should also have been in more, and their story.

I agree with Minerva there. Harry is a boy, he’s not supposed to raised as livestock. Only showcases just how bad dividing one’s soul is. Though of course Voldemort does not care, he was born under a love potion because of a desperate woman infatuated with a man who had no interest in her. Therefore he has no concept of love and is heartless. That is what makes Voldemort evil, he has no concept of love.

@@christophersudbrink4946 JK Rowling said countless times that the love potion part is nothing but ironic metaphor. Voldemort could feel love, he actually loved himself and called Nagini his friend because she was part of him afterall. He could be good and he choosed not to be. It's emphasized over and over in the HP universe that your choices is what matters and what makes you the person you are, not the circumstances you were born into. If JK doomed Voldemort into not feeling love from his birth, then that would pretty much sabotage the purpose of the story

Zingu no. Not in the story at least. He defeated Voldemort by reflecting the killing curse back into him. Can’t say what he had to do as an auror in his future though.

Madame Melon I love Nico, I have so much respect, he taught himself how to use his own powers, managed to keep a good moral compass, even though with his backstory he could have easily gone down a dark path, he willing went into Tartarus (Hell) to help his friends, risked his life to shadowtravel the Athena Parthenos across the world, plus more I’m sorry that this is totally unrelated to Harry Potter but I really love his character

I think apart from Hermione, Ginny, and Luna, for me another great role model was McGonagall. She's kind, brave, fearless, and always did what she thought was right. I think she is a figure that many young girls and women can look up to.

Indeed. McGonagall is smart, sharp, independent, good hearted, and fierce. She’d outduel Severus Snape in a heartbeat. Forget that his mother was a bookworm and that he had a penchant for dark magic. McGonagall is much older then Snape, and thus with age comes experience. She has more tricks up her sleeves then the little oddball up to his eyes in dark magic.

Snape merely deflected her attacks to "accidentally" knock out the two deatheaters, to then take their wands, rendering them useless against someone of her caliber. She's powerful, no doubt, but she'd be in trouble against Snape, if he wasn't halfassing it

Out of all of the professors, mcgonagall is my favorite. She really cared and loved all of the students she teached and she didn't deserve the tragedies she faced

What I love about mcgonagall is when she stood up for Neville. His grandmother told him herbology was for sissies but Prof Mcgonagall encouraged Neville and told him to tell his grandma that just because she flunked it back in the day, doesn't mean it's low level. Now that's a teacher.

But that basically, Neville's grandmother had basically told him that a career in herbology was bellow him, and that he had to aim for a manly man job, like being an auror. Now, that's not exactly right, because if I remember correctly, Neville's mother was also an auror. But, the way Neville acts throughout the books, and how his grandmother humilates him or congratulates him depending on if he's being sensitive or assertive does fit the idea that Neville was held to a toxic standard of what a man is. Luckily, perhaps because his parents weren't entirely gone, and probably thanks to him knowing about them and what they had done from an early age, he became a different short of man. With burning fire that was always kept under control. I hadn't really thought about it until this video, but I guess Neville's literally the proverbial warrior in a garden instead of the gardener in war.

I can't even think of anyone else that could play Minerva in the film's. Maggie Smith...QUEEN!!

I love how when the death eater spit in Mcgonagalls face, Harry revealed himself and really used the torture curse on him because he was so mad. And then said “I see what Bellatrix meant. You need to really mean it.” It just shows how much he cared for his professor who had always had his best interests at heart. Very heartwarming. (And kind of hot 😂) I really wanted to see that in the final movie but soo many things I wanted to see in the final battle were changed for the movie unfortunately

In deathly hollows, when he was in Raven Court tower The other teachers were preparing to fight.slughorn started to argue and minerva said, “ I will expect you and your students in the great Hall in 20 minutes. If you wish to leave with them you may. But if any of you take up arms against us then, we duel to kill. Horace began stuttering as she continued, “ it is time for Slytherin house to decide upon its loyalties”. She’s such a boss!!!

Minerva Mcgonagall is one of the most sincere teacher in fiction. She is dedicated towards her students and really a great inspiration for real life teachers. Her own problems and her own life is nothing, her whole hearted dedication was towards the youth and development of future. Truly lovely.

Having Dame Maggie Smith as the actress truly solidified how important Prof. McGonagall was, even without knowing her backstory while watching the movies.

A true hero in the franchise. Brave, true, strict but fair, and powerful. Her and Molly were like mothers to Harry Potter. She definitely deserved the title of Headmistress

One of my favorite moments in the books is when mcGonagall is talking with Harry about how he yelled at umbitc- I mean umbridge, called her a liar, and said he who must not be named is back, and instead of punishing him she legit just says “have a biscuit, Potter.” And that changed my entire perspective of her.

McGonagall was one of the most underrated charaters in HP along with Horace Slughorn

I love how fiercley loyal she is... She legit had no hesitation (if needed) to lay her life down to protect the students of Hogwarts. My favorite scene is when she faced off against Snape.

you forgot to include how she encouraged Harry's passion for defense against the dark arts and helped him become an Auror. I love the scene where Harry is getting his career evaluation with McGonagall, and Umbridge is in the room insisting Harry could never be an Auror. McGonagall slammed her lol. McGonagall really despised Umbridge, I love it. Telling Peeves "Turn it the other way" XD

I always knew that McGonagall was my favorite from the start, but I was always debating between her and Hermione. I immedietly knew she was my favorite when she called out the stone knights and said to Molly " I've always wanted to use that spell."

I love that she was not afraid to call out dumbledore when he was purposely putting harry in danger. She is my favorite character is the series.

I am absolutely in love with Minerva McGonagall. She is such a powerful, aspiring role model that i will always look up to. It's amazing how JK Rowling made so many characters with such deep backgrounds.

Honestly I would rather see a bunch of Spin offs for for a lot of characters in the series than the Magical Creatures series. This is definitely one I would like to see.

The fact that Snape the triple agent who died and killed out of loyalty fo Dombeldore didn't get featured on a card is unforgivable

McGonagall. Is. The. Best. Witch. No other way to put it. I feel like she fits into Hufflepuff, as well as Ravenclaw and Gryffindor. I love seeing how genuinely happy and young she seemed to feel when practicing dancing with Ron before the Yule ball.

I love her so much! And Maggie Smith, too! I adore her as a character, and many of her scenes are favorites of mine. Thank you for this sweet and appreciative video!

For me, the thing that hurts my heart the most about McGonagall is that she was the one who had the most gut wrenching scream when she saw Harry's dead body. Not Ron, not Hermione, not any one of his other friends/classmates, but MINERVA FREAKING MCGONAGALL.

She loved him, she watched for him for all those years, since he was a baby. She was always his guardian, kind of a godmother in a way. She did everything to encourage him, to support him. After Dumbledore, her most trusted friend died, she put all her hopes in Harry, I guess most of the wizarding world did, too. Obviously that's not true in the books, but in the film it shows how righteous she was, how she wanted Harry to save the wizarding world, and how much she loved him.

An absolutely brilliant video to describe the life of an absolutely brilliant character ! She's always been my favourite along with Hermione and Draco ever since I was a child. She's just the kind of person that you cannot not admire and respect ! ❤️

McGonagall was my favorite professor in all the movies. As much as I love Snape(he's 100% second even if he wasn't always very nice), McGonagall was always there to help. And it was ADORABLE when she said "I've always wanted to use that spell!".

When she releases the statues to protect Hogwarts and says "I've always wanted to use that spell" is probably my favourite moment of all the Harry Potter movies. We all have the memory of childhood within us and Maggie Smith captures its resurfacing exquisitely.

Yes, I love that. And I hate the fact that they didn’t include it in the movie…

now that everything is put in such a short time, minerva might be my favorite now... what an absolute powerhouse. also i the scene with umbridge when they both step up on the ladder is so enlightning just by body language, how dolores thought she was over minerva's authority and she stood up to her verbally and physically, the tension can literally be seen, such a masterful class of body language by both actresses(i dont know the plural or actress)
