I think they’re intentionally opening up the possibility of adding mobs who lost previous votes because it saves a lot of time. They already have the concept so they can start developing it. It isn’t “lazy” either, it’s just better because it adds more features to the game and makes people who really wanted the added mob happy.

wow it's almost like the wolf armor mod has around 20 million downloads and is popular, and is better than 1 reach of building only. People don't just care for the utilities, crab lovers say that people are only voting for wolf armor but u guys complain that ur not getting an extra 1 reach, without utilities all mobs would be bland, most of you crab lovers voted for the reach, the reason penguin was disqualified instantly was because of bad utility. Armadillos live in the savanna which has basically NO biome specific mobs or features and just feels bland. Adding a new interesting feature to it is better than most other biomes.

TheMisterEpic did a breakdown. tl;dw-someone wrote a script to submit bogus votes, and the log dumps show that they used it to put in 5MM votes for the Armadillo. Given that the vote tally wasn't anywhere close to that, it's very plausible that Microsol never actually recorded those fraudulent votes.

I feel like the more technical and veteran part of the community would vote crab but most of them refrained from voting as part of the protest meanwhile armadillo voters were more casual players who didnt care about some protest so they just voted.

If the copper golem isn’t added with all the new copper blocks and stuff in 1.21, it basically confirms the penguin and crab aren’t coming back.

Probably because having your hair open can be really annoying. I had hair like that too and i usually tied it together because otherwise it would just... float everywhere and get in the way. Especially when you're sitting at the computer you sometimes lean on your hair without realizing it and then you hurt your scalp and neck when you try to move your head. Its just much easier having it tied together

I didnt vote but i genuinely thought that the armadillo was the best choice out of all three. More people use wolves for combat than you think, and even more would use them if they had armor. Extended reach is something very little have asked for. There are many things that dont take much effort to compensate for a lack of reach.

Okay... Jeb's amazing hair. Horse asserts dominance by sliding. And to top it off, minecraft has entered the industrial revolution in an official capacity. And I still think the Alay is brand new and cool. I have missed so much since 2016.

Redstone was kind of stagnating in the last years. Don’t get me wrong, it all was impressive with the small computers and etc. But new concepts were hardly introduced. The crafter opens up a whole lot more possibilities for farming and it WILL change forever how we play.

The thing that annoys me the most is that they FINALLY alluded to past mobs being added in the future When the penguin lost, they brought up how the frog still showed up And then the crab, the runner up, lost, and they said nothing

The entire swamp biome vote got slowly added. Frogs, chest boats and mangrove trees.

Technically, the frog was part of the Biome Vote not the Mob Vote, and for the Biome Vote, they did say all would be added, but for the first Mob Vote, they said only the winner would be added and the rest would be scrapped, they have never said, during a Mob Vote, that the losers wouldn't be scrapped, only during Biome Votes so....their wording doesn't really add up

once again, jeb continues to be the best part of minecraft live

Considering that Minecraft’s 15th anniversary is coming up next year, I’m kind of hopeful that they add several new features, including some of the mobs that lost previous votes.

Well, yes, because it's objectively not representative of the community. Half a million sounds impressive until you compare that to over 5 million, which in turn sounds impressive until you compare it to 170+ million.

Apparently plenty of people voted for armadillo for armadillo, based on other comments. Apparently it was popular in Brazil because it's an animal (I assume native) there, or something along those lines.

Maybe not all of them but maybe the copper golem, it looks pretty fitting for the new update (i voted for the allay)

For the newer votes we should just vote for which previous mob will get in first.

Same. But hey, Vu said that the penguin might be added in a future update... maybe. Once they're gone, they're not scrapped forever. Look at the frog. Maybe the crab might come along in some sort of biome update if we do get one for each biome later on.

Bruh, it makes so much more sense now, knowing that they allowed China to vote for the first time

Imagine the second the 1.21 update comes, guess what, mombo jumbo is gonna make at least seven videos about some features. Especially the automatic crafting.

I'm honestly glad that this year's live isn't long. I don't expect any caves & cliffs-esque reveal for every single minecraft live. This year reveal aren't as big as C&C but still reveal big stuff. (I don't care about this mob vote thingy, I just want the stupid drama done quickly)
